Ordered a power steering conversion kit from here, shipping was high and it got worse from there. They shipped via UPS, then UPS wouldn't ship to my PO Box, so I tried to change to an acceptable address. UPS said the shipper had to change it. I emailed Speedway Motors to get them to change the shipping address. This is the reply: In regards to the address, we aren't able to change the address to ship to another location. Only option is to return this to sender. However, with this already being in Canada, if we ask them to return to sender, there are fees that we will be charged for that, that we will need to deduct from your refund. We will not know how much that is until we get the packages back to us. If that is something you'd want us to do to, we can but be advised, you will only be refunded the merchandise for the parts less any fees incurred. There is not a refund back on the shipping paid or on any fees/duties you have paid, if you have paid them. Please let us know how you'd like to proceed. UPS will only hold these for so long before they reach out to us asking what we'd like to do. They may end up being disposed of and not getting returned to us as well. Of which if that does happen, we aren't able to issue any refund. So its imperative you let us know what you'd like to do. On September 23rd, 2024, I purchased and received a Chevy 700R4 Automatic Transmission from Speedway Motors, 2WD (Part #91029102). The cost was $2,509.99 plus shipping ($470.99) and tax ($125.52). Total cost was $3096.50. The engine was installed in a 1972 Chevelle Malibu, replacing a manual transmission. The car had a brand new radiator, lines, and torque converter purchased from Jegs, which was in the specifications for fitting this transmission. Dylan W., an ASE-certified Master Engine Machinist, and Master Automobile Technician installed the transmission. Dylan has a 4-year automotive degree and was employed by Jasper Engines (the nation's largest remanufacturer of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, air and fuel components, marine engines, sterndrives, performance engines, and electric motors) for 9.5 years as a lead gas and transmission specialist and as a manager of transmission failure analysis. On Sunday, January 6th, 2024, with less than 200 miles of driving time, the shifting and power engagement began to fail. It also refused to shift down into 1st and 2nd gear. When starting from a stop, the transmission made a high-pitched noise. I recorded this on my iPhone video. 1/20/2024 - I spoke to Marty in Speedway Customer Service and explained the situation. I was told that Speedway sells this product, which is remanufactured by Stellar Automotive Group. They said I needed to contact them to resolve this issue. Two days later, I had a conference call with my mechanic, Dylan W., and Matt (The manager at Stellar). Throughout the conversation, Dylan satisfactorily answered Matt's questions regarding the installation. Matt said he would have to inspect the transmission to determine what caused the issue. He explicitly stated that we could not open the transmission, or it would void the warranty. Since I had to buy another torque converter, I asked Stellar who they would recommend. I took their advice and purchased another for $225. We shipped the transmission back to Stellar. Three weeks later, the rebuilt transmission arrived. It was still full of metal shavings (See photo). They informed us that the cause of the failure was the torque converter from JEGS was the problem. We have the original torque converter. We checked it, and it did not fail. I was told by Stellar I would no longer have any warranty on this unit since "they did me a favor." Buying this from Speedway Motors cost me almost $900 more than it should have ($160 to have it towed to the mechanic for repair, $225 for another new torque converter, and $460 for labor to pull and replace the transmission.) Speedway refused to even give me credit for any of this and simply washed their hands of this. And they won't post the negative review I placed on their product page. Mediocre pricing, inattentive service, hang ups after being on hold for 10 minutes, hold music that is annoying as hell (Ask me how I know) and always some reason why simple solutions to fix their problems can't be done. Sent me a bent air cleaner assembly (Not a cheap one). Just send it back and we will replace it. So I lose a week for a part I ordered because I needed it ASAP. Not to mention the hassle of returning it. I also ordered a spring tester. Large and heavy. Arrived with a bad gauge. Just box the whole thing up and return it. Or you can return the gauge assembly and we will rebuild it and return it to you. That does me a lot of good this weekend when I want to test my springs. Can't you just send me a new assembly in a small box and I can return my defective assembly in a small box. No - we can't do that. What ever happened to Customer Service?? I recently purchased suspension products from Speedway after speaking with one of their EXPERTS. The EXPERT assured me that the parts were designed for my 2017 Ram Rebel. After receiving the parts I took them to a local suspension shop to have them installed. The shop called me to tell me that they did not fit. I was charged $200.00 for disassembly and reassembly to put my truck back together. I contacted Speedway Motors and was told multiple times by their escalation team they were sorry for the mistake but they were unwilling to share in any of the labor cost associated with the disassembly/assembly. They also refused to give me any contact information for their supervisor telling me that they had the final say in the matter. I bought a copper and brass radiator for my 72 GMC Jimmy in September 2021. It developed a leak 2 years later with less than 1000 miles use. My local radiator shop advised against repair due to the subpar construction and poor workmanship from the manufacturer. Speedway refused to warranty the part but would discount the purchase of an identical replacement. Why would I spend good money on a proven bad product? I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and it went unanswered by Speedway. I also wrote a poor review on the product on their website but of course it was never posted. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Bought 2 steel rally wheels and they were not true and had a bad vibration. It happens. What happened after that was all bad! Tried to exchange one of them to see if I could get a better one. Took several calls of more than 30 minutes each, getting transferred from customer service to, ahh ... customer service??? They did send another wheel but only after I returned the defective one. No problem. When I got the replacement I also got a charge on my credit card. Another several 30 minute calls to customer service they found that I was incorrectly charged for shipping. Refunded. Next problem ... Replacement was worse than the defective one. Several more 30 minute calls to return both of the wheels. They issued a refund but for one wheel only. Several more 30 minute calls and I got a supervisor that said she knew what the problem was and would correct it. She did refund the second wheel but it never added up to what I paid. I give up! I'm out money but more importantly, hours and hours of time! I'll think hard before using them again. read more

We raced one race and the cam went flat on one lobe they said they would fix it and refund us shipping to ship it back . we shipped it back and they said it was done and they would ship it back free of charge for parts and labor and shipping , then tried to charge us 600.00 for the shipping and parts we never received our shipping refund either . Finally got it back ran one heat and one main and same shit cam but the lifters where trashed when we pulled the motor apart , tired to talk to them told us nothing they could do . I called Speedway and got a chick named Charlie. I needed a chromed tie rod that they don't carry alone but do with chromed tie rod ends which more than doubles the price. Charlie looked through their parts list and came to the same conclusion that they did not carry it. She then said let me check something. She found it as part of a tie rod and tie rod ends kit and came up with a replacement part number for the tie rod only. She then talked to her supervisor to see if they could sell me the tie rod only to which the supervisor said yes. Talk about above and beyond!!!! Purchased a Holley 750 Carburetor from Speedway. Installed on new build only to discover the Carburetor was not new but used. Gaskets were damaged, floats stuck, fuel draining into engine and requiring oil to be drained as it washed through the cylinders. Spent $310.00 rebuilding and changing the oil. Having been a Speedway Customer I expected them to make this right. That never happened and they now claim the Carburetor was a "Garage Special" which was not indicated in the EBAY ad. Apparently "Garage Special" is Speedways code for damaged, returned, not new. Very disappointing. Needless to say I won't be purchasing from them in the future. I ordered 4 wheels on October 10th 2021 as a Christmas present for my son. They took the money right out of my account. I kept tracking shipping and it never showed they shipped. I messaged multiple times and never got a answer. Finally I called and spoke to a supervisor on December 10th 2021 and I was informed they would not ship because they don't have any. I asked them when that was found out and was informed that the note on the account says November 8th 2021. They continued to give me the run around knowing the wheels were never going to ship. HORRIBLE customer service. As in, there is NONE. Ordered a $500 part from them with a delivery date of two weeks. Delivery date came and went without a word from Speedway. A week after it was supposed to be here I was looking for my part and contacted them. They said "We're sorry but the part is not going to be shipped from our third party vender for three more months". They never let me know it was backordered to give me time to find it somewhere else.
