Really unfriendly, and unprofessional workers here. The guy kept spitting on the ground and did not respond verbally to any questions. Charged me $60 just to tell me I didn't pass. Avoid this place, plenty of other places nearby that won't charge you if you didn't pass. read more

It was speedy, that's for sure. However, I was charged $60 + $2 for using a credit card. Kim told me he was the cheapest in the area. I didn't check beforehand, shame on me, but turns out that's not true. A quick check turned up H1 on PCH which charges $40 (and has a coupon for $29.95 in the photos). At least I passed! read more

These guys are great. Been coming here for my smog checks for years and the service is always quick, friendly and cost efficient. $50 gets you your smog check / diagnostics report and always with little waiting. You can even leave your car and dart traffic whilst running across Gaffey street to chow down at Fantastic Cafe. They'll park it across from the service bay (in the shade), and keep it safe 'till you return!!! Love these guys! read more

Awesome service I own a 1999 car and it was $60 with a smog certificate out the door. And it was done in about 15 minutes less than 30 minutes. No up selling or extra services were offered I was never told anything would be extra just that it would be $60 with the smog my car passed with flying colors . Super happy with tuneup my mechanic did not related to this post :-). And I found a great place . With no up selling and no extras :-) just a smog certificate for a clear easy to understand price . Not a fan of this one. Gone here twice with my truck and the owner said his machine was broken but then I drove by 5 minutes later and he was working on someones car. Drove back the next day and he straight out told me to leave. I guess the guy picks and chooses which cars he wants to smog. Went to Ed's down the street and passed with flying colors. read more

What a joke! This guy is a liar! Brought my van here on 2 separate occasions and both times he said his machine was broken. Apparently, smog places have a grudge with the state and don't like to smog test pre '97 vehicles. Not my problem. I just need my van smog tested. There are only 3 star certified smog check businesses in town and only one was honest with me and did the test. Smog Fathers on Gaffey. Honest guys over there! read more

Need a smog check. need it fast? You in Pedro? stop by this speedy smog and get it over with. They only do checks but there's enough things around the neighborhood to keep you occupied. The worker was super friendly and did his best to get things done quickly. the gentleman running this place is so professional, kind, and fast! i showed up just as another customer was leaving...he told me it would take about 10 minutes...and i think he finished in about 8 or 9 minutes, including emailing the smog test results to the DMV. Had my truck tuned up, two weeks later i go to have it smog it wouldn't pass because my of my new sensors. He told me to drive on it for a while then come back, which was fine but i told him im in school full time and i work. Long story short i came back two days after the 15 days he gave me. See. This is proving out. My previous visit was perhaps just not a great day. On that visit I didn't feel all that warm and fuzzy (I know, I know, it's not called Cuddly Bunny Smog). Anyway, I am happy to move Speedy Smog up a star based on my last experience. It makes me happy to do this because I owned a small business once. I think I can name a few customers who witnessed some bad days on my part, frankly. Anyway, based on other reliable reviews that can't all be wrong and my most recent visit there, I am happy to recommend higher now. Also, I see one reviewer who didn't get a discount on their return visit and I might question the validity of that. One, I believe that is mandated and controlled by DMV (just a guess, really). My car didn't pass the first time, but was given a coupon such that upon returning, I only had to pay a nominal $10 re-test fee, not the full fare. I had used the technicians advice, replaced my gas cap, and returned after burning a tank of high octane and passed the test. My sense was that the technician I encountered was a very honorable man and that this is an honest business. read more
