Had some electrical problems on my 06 Yukon Denali. Took it here since they were the only shop to confirm that they had the ability to program a body control module. The new bcm didn't resolve the issue, but I brought the truck back and they performed extensive troubleshooting and got the truck fixed right. I'm not happy about the cost of the repair since it was money that I was saving for vacation, but the truck is repaired correctly and appears to be ok. A lot of my issues was from third party garbage that was improperly installed on the truck. The shops expertise got the issues resolved and while my wallet is a lot lighter, at least it's fixed until the next thing breaks. The shop is clean and the staff is very friendly. They explain everything going on in detail and will follow up with you before any repairs are made. Art even stayed late so I could pick up my truck after the shop closed. I got all of the garbage that they uninstalled to I could see all of the work they did. If I ever have a problem again, I'm going back to these guys as they really know their GM's. read more

Art and Omar are pleasant. Brought my Camaro in because it was lacking power. They ran diagnostic and cleaned out the fuel pump for 800 bucks. Unfortunately that did not fix the problem. Brought the car back and apparently there was a bad cell in the battery. Put a new battery in that didn't fix the problem. Still lacking power my car has under 65000 miles. The latest diagnosis I have a bad fuel injector. 2 Grand to replace them all. read more

Spence & Frye literally broke more things on my car than they fixed. And they never once told me that they had broken something. I found out by showing up to get the car after hours and discovering that I couldn't pull my car out of the parking lot. Horrible customer service! I kept going back to S&F because they were willing to work on my kit car when many other mechanics would not. I had to pay for all of Spence & Frye's mistakes. They also wanted to charge me $1,000 to fix an oil leak but I was able to get it done elsewhere for $135. And the leak was at the distributor, a part that Spence & Frye had recently replaced. It appears that they caused the leak and then tried to overcharge me to correct it. I finally had enough when I asked them to test a part before installing it but they failed to do so. They said they would test the part and they told me that they had tested it. But it failed repeatedly, leaving me stranded numerous times. They had to work on the car THREE times because they didn't test the part in advance. read more

This is my go to shop for all my business truck repairs. My truck needed a new transmission, so I search 4 mechanic shops to get estimates from all in the same area. Spence and Frye was the best option! Between them and the 3 other shops. His price was in the middle compared to the other 3 shops BUT offered another year of warranty which for me is a winner. Ever since then it has been my go to shop for all my truck repairs. Spence & Frye has done numerous repairs on my 2001 Chevy Suburban such as, replace transmission, brake pads, emergency brake shoe, water pump, & radiator. Brought my car in after having intermittent issue's. Was at work when the car was brought in so I went the next day to see art. After seeing him just to introduce myself as the vehicle owner he assured me he could find problem but never once talked what charges would be for diagnostics or labor, etc. I was clueless and made the mistake of not asking as well. Anywho, when he did find the problem he told me it was 2 injectors. Wanted to charge over 700 bucks for the 2 with the diagnostic fee for new injectors. Couldn't afford the new one's so we went with refurbished ones. He changed two but not the two.he said he would. After the car was fixed it still died and has died since multiple times. He then stated on invoice that I refused new injectors when that wasn't the case. I simply couldn't afford the new one. On top of that I had to bring some rolled change i had put away to pay the full bill. He made me go to the bank to change it or wouldn't give me my car back even though I had the full money. I don't like being lied to, I was over charged $66 for a part and charged for a diagnostic when I let them fix the car who does that ? Thank God for the internet when all you have to do is check prices from the dealership yourself. On top of that he said he used a dealer GM part but it was in an AC Delco box. Come on dude just because I'm a woman doesn't make me an idiot. I picked this place cause it had a 5 star well not from me. $378 for a diagnostic, TB sensor and new adapter that is assuming he changed the adapter can't tell through the electrical tape. Said the dealer charged $144 for the sensor that was a lie. Won't be going back to this rip off and needless to say with all the people I know in Pasadena alone he won't be getting any referral's read more

First time here. Came in for an oil change thinking is going to be $49.95 like it says on their website. Ended up paying $101! Omar states that my car takes only synthetic. It would have been professional of you if you communicated that to me before doing the job and when I brought that up to you just shrugged your shoulders!
