Spencer's is always... an experience... I don't know what to say about the place. If your not familiar with a Spencer's, the most important thing is to NOT bring you children. If you stay on the front side of the store it's mainly just regular graphic tees, backpacks, water bottles. If you do decide to venture farther however, there will be something much different. In the second half you will find beer bongs, explicit language and images, sexual outfits and accessories. It's definitely an odd store, but there clothing is good and they do have a variety of stuff, to say the least. read more

July 2019 I came in to return a shirt i bought that was a size to small. I just bought this shirt the night before at another location. I felt like the location seem less friendly from the other locations i been to previously. The cashier who was helping me with the return didn't have any questions pertaining to the return until the refund process. The shirt was new with the tag and I had a receipt. The cashier required me to provide my Drivers License information in order to continue with the refund. The only time a drivers license should be required is without a receipt or it is a large transaction. read more

I went to Spencer's as one time as a guess And honestly, I was a little confused on my outfit choice and I was walking in here and then all of a sudden I go to the register because I see that there are these shirts on clearance sale and then I go to the register with one shirt not really knowing what to do with my outfit but then all of a sudden one of the workers her name was Taylor. She told me that there was an extra shirt that I can get for a dollar as well because that's what I was saying and I picked it up and I found it and I put it on and I realize how awesome I looked at it and I'm really grateful that she helped me with my purchase purchase. I typically shop at Spencer's for technology (light shows). I originally purchased my disco bulbs at the Spencer's located in Orange however when I used them the same day for a graduation party my disco lights stopped spinning and died out within the hour with brand new batteries. I could not find the proper disco light until I came to the Brea mall and Monique was able to meet my needs on what I was looking for. I've never received such great customer service at a Spencer's before. I highly recommend asking for Monique for a great customer service experience. She definitely knew which products to offer in order to meet my technology needs. read more

Let me begin by saying this is not the same Spencers I grew-up with back in the 80's. That Spencer was known for selling gag gifts and adult, uh novelties however back in the day they did a good job of keeping the adult things in the rear of the store. At least at this location you're bombarded with all sorts of adult sex-toy's literally as soon as you walk in the door. I made the mistake of thinking my 14 y/o Niece and I would be able to find a non-sexual gag gift here and yeah we found something but we had to wade through racks of sex-store rejects to find what we were looking for. Placing a display of Vibrators on the counter next to the cash register was also rather tacky. Lest you think I'm a prude, I'm really not. Went in with the intent to purchase 2 fog 400 watt machines and 2 bottles of fog liquid on a weekday, 2 sales staff on duty with one being on the phone since the moment I walked in and was still on the phone when I left, while one more staff, named Matt (Assistant Manager) it says on his badge helping (or NOT helping) customers. Was browsing the wall where the fog machines were located, bottom shelf across from cash register booth. Only saw the 700 watt machines there. So decided to flag down a sales staff to find what I came to look for. Me: "Excuse me, but do you have the 400 watt fog machine in stock here? I only see the 700 watt one here" Matt: "No, what we have is right there, that is it....." Me: "Oh, can u possiblly check the back or something to see if you have any more?" Matt: "No, we dont have any in the back, this is it......." Me: "Oh, ok, thanks........." I then proceed to call my GF whom was there just yesterday and spoke to somebody about it and said it was in stock and she saw it and was shown the unit, as there was more then a few in stock. She had told me the units were located on top of the shelf above the cash register area. Low and behold, I look up, and there are 4 of them sitting up there. After I hung up, I flagged Matt down again as he came out of the back room and pointed UP to where the units were and looked at him again in silence. Matt: "Yes?" Me: :Uhm, what is that?? Isnt that what I was asking you about? The 400 watt fog machine....." Matt: "Uhhh....well.....I thought you asked for the fog liquid?" Me: "Uhm, what? No....Why would I ask you about the fog liquid when the fog liquid is sitting right there on the floor next to the 700 watt machine?" Matt: "Uhhh....O....Uhhhh.....O......Uhhhh...." Me: "Can you help me get 2 of them down, I like to purchase it, I almost left, but my gf whom was here yesterday was shown the unit by a sales staff that is how I know where it was......" Matt: "O....Uhhh...OK....hold on" He goes and gets the ladder and brings two down and brings to check out counter, while I went to grab two bottles of the fog liquid. Then next thing I know he is checking out 1 girl while another 2 are waiting with me being 3rd in line....OK, fine, no biggie, I can understand it in any which way you want to explain it. First girl pays in cash, out she goes. Next girl and her friend wants to pay credit card, but somehow the store's machine wasnt taking it, keeps saying processing or something of that sort.....so 1 min, 2 min, 3 min and then 5 min roll around....still same thing.....6 min and 7 min roll around, he then ask if they want to pay with cash instead, they said no....so 8 min and 9 min roll around, they give up, left......next up me....now all this time I am thinking, if you cant take credit cards, why dont you ask the next customer in line if they can pay cash and so next customer can leave right away instead of playing the waiting game?? POOR customer service and awareness.......and guess what, their credit card machine does work as that is how I paid after asking them to try it....... Then after I paid, frustrated as I was wasting my time there, when I got back to the car, checked the receipt after thinking the total was off, and indeed it was.....they overcharged.....34.99 per unit as oppose to the sticker price that was on the unit at 29.99....so had to walk all the way back into the mall and get a refund....asked them to give me a slight discount for the inconvenience.....Mr, Matt simply ignored my question/request........refunded the amount after having to have to wait AGAIN for their machine to supposedly reset, as another customers card woudl not work he claims just before I walked backed in....making me stand there for another 2 minutes before trying my card and it worked just fine...... This guy is an ASSISTANT MANAGER??????? R U SERIOUS???????? I am not saying he isnt smart or sober or aware.....but if he was on cloud 9 I definitely believe it........'cause the dude wasnt all there if u know what I mean!!!!!! And this whole time I was there, the other stafff that was there was on the phone the WHOLE TIME!!!!!!! Never bother to help any customers at all or his fellow staff whom's state of mind wasnt on this planet........... Spencers has a lot of choices and good variety and fun stuff..........love their stores and selections..........but mang o mang, this store and these two guys need some serious screening and help and professionalism to work at a retail location......I think they should open up a smoke shop or better yet a dispensory if you know what I mean..............!! read more

This location is newly remodeled and huge, and has TONS of stuff. gag gifts, "sex toys", bachelorette & 21st birthday party stuff , clothes, funny baby clothes . And they also have a very good looking assistant manager that works there! ;) read more

We spent about an hour here tonight. The nice girl with short blonde hair was very helpful for everything. The problem occurred during checkout...we were on one side of the register, and another girl came up and said to come to the other side. That's fine. We had a $50 gift card (yes, we checked the balance before AND after leaving), and their machine wasn't reading it. She said that she couldn't type in the numbers on the back of the card. That made no sense, but whatever, not her fault. What I didn't understand is why she didn't try running it on the other register. I asked her what we could do to make the card work or get a new one, she didn't know. We paid for it anyways because there was a line behind us and we were already extremely embarrassed. Honestly all of these stores have gone down hill, but even though it's still a good place to get gag gifts for family and some other odd ball stuff, don't expect the cashier to be able to do basic math. My change was $9.86 and I gave the cashier another $1 to get an even $10 back plus the odd ball change ($.86)... She hands me back a $10 and says good bye. I ask for my other 86c and she looks at me like I'm crazy, she reaches up on the counter and hands me .11 lol... Where the heck did she learn how to do math. I told her she was wrong and that she owed me another .75 and she argued with me and wouldn't give it to me. So I walked out having given an extra dollar for a round bill and getting back .25... Wtf I'm not to mad to be missing 75 cents, but the fact that the cashier (who by trade is supposed to know basic addition and subtraction) wouldn't even take a second to look at the receipt and redo the math to get me my correct change. I visited this location on 2/7/2019 to buy some lingerie with my 20% off coupon. I was rung up incorrectly from the listed price. It wasn't a big deal, so I just went back in to have the price adjusted. Initially the cashier was apologetic but after becoming frustrated with the return all three staff members became passive aggressive making side comments about how it's "only $2" (not correct either, but from what I could see basic math and register functions were not a job requirement.) After 15 minutes of fumbling with the register between the three of them they gave me my money back and ended with a comment about how "only the plus size lingerie was incorrectly marked" as if I could control how thick I am. As a plus size woman I felt extremely belittled especially because not only was I insulted for wanting the money I should have had in the first place, but also for by body. This is completely unacceptable and I would rather go to goodwill for lingerie than ever shop here again. read more
