WARNING! DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY CONTRACT FROM SPENCER'S TV & APPLIANCE! In 2017, we bought a 5-year extended warranty contract from Spencer's TV & Appliance when we purchase a refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer, paying $600. The refrigerator stopped cooling on Tuesday. I retrieved the paperwork for the appliance and remembered about the warranty. We called Spencer's. They looked up the invoice to confirm the warranty purchase. They then said they would call the warranty service company with our information. They also gave us the name/phone of the company - Centurion Service Corporation. We called Centurion Tuesday (late afternoon) and left a message. We got a call back from them on Wednesday (late morning). They said they needed to call GE Repair to set up an appointment. Then asked if we wanted to hold or get a call back. We said we would hold. 20 minutes later, we were hung up on. We waited all day for a call back to no avail. During that time we called Centurion and left messages 5 times. Finally, Thursday, after trying to get Centurion on the phone, at 9:30 am we decided to call another company, Dynamic Appliance Repair, to look at the fridge. Although they were booked solid for the day, they promised to have a technician to us between 11 and 2. The gentleman, Scott, showed up at our door at 11:30 am (with the needed parts). He expertly fixed our fridge (he knew what the problem was just from our description on the phone) and was gone by 12:00 noon. Turns out Scott is the owner of Dynamic Appliance Repair, who decided that because his other techs were booked, he took our call himself. That is customer service! While Scott was still here, Centurion called (big mistake!). They said that they have verified that we did in fact have an extended warranty. Excuse me? That was verified 4 days ago by the store! Then Centurion proudly told us they could have a technician to us by next Wednesday - 6 days out! OMG! They were told that we had already called someone else, and that the refrigerator was being worked on. We then called Spencer's. Told them what had been happening, and that we wanted a refund of our $600 because they breached our contract. They started in with this song and dance that the contract would be prorated ... blah, blah, blah. Moral of the story? Spencer's extended warranty is a fraud. Centurion Service is a sham. Great experience!!! All I can say is wow, I was in the marker for a fridge, washer and dryer, I went everywhere to try to get the best price. I knew very little about appliances and it seems like every store i went to knew just as much as I did I told a friend that appliance shopping was the worst, They told me to go to Spencer's a local Family owned company. I did not know what to expect because I literally went to every place you would think of, And all I can say is Wow I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I was very Impressed with my salesman his name was Marcus, It seems like he knew everything about everything he listened to me and he made shopping a very pleasant experience I not only got a great education on appliances which I now love but he gave me his personal number incase I had any issues. Seriously !!! what place does that, That was awesome. I wish they had a place like this back home in Florida so I can tell all my friends and family. Purchased several items from them. Several were things they don't usually carry (not their sales staff members' expertise), but they were able to order them and price match / beat the price I had been offered from online and other retailers. They ordered a few items and kept in reasonable contact about when they'd have them -- took about 2 weeks round trip, which was fine for my purposes. They also found one of the items as a display model at another store and did the legwork to confirm it was still there and hold it for me so we could get a show model for cheaper. At no point did anyone try to sell me anything except what I asked about, they answered questions they could or told me if they didn't know. Little touches like helping me carry items to the car and telling us about free contests they had going were appreciated. From a price and service standpoint, a few good experiences and no issues. read more

Just bought my first ever brand new washing machine. After doing my homework and checking out what the national brand stores could do for me, I couldn't get around all the great reviews, including word of mouth reviews I'd read & heard about Spencer's. I went straight there and from the moment we walked in, our sales rep, Gary, was courteous, & imformitable. He knows his washers!! The delivery time & date we set up could not have been any smoother. Joe, our delivery guy, texted me when he was on his way & they got to my house earlier than expected. Again, I was treated very politely. They installed my washer, checked to make sure it was running ok & that was that! $10 took my old washer with them. Buy local because Spencer's hasn't been in business as long as they have for nothing. A-1 topnotch place. P.S. I love my new washer!!! read more

Spencers customer service is unparalleled, I had closed prior yelp account with another email address, was willing to open a new. I called the local store and placed the order over the phone. Outstanding communication via texts, emails and a phone call on delivery window, with updates when on their way. Very polite, removed house door before entering, and placed cardboard along the door jam to prevent possible damage to refrigerator. Impressive. Unfortunately in the past 10 years, we have had multiple appliance deliveries from Home Depot and Lowe's. Twice the delivery was canceled within hours of the scheduled time. in May 2021 we noticed Lowe's delivery company, Barlows, delivered a refrigerator with a dent on the side and never mentioned same. we were disgusted and put a magnet on it. Dryer suddenly stopped working early last week and the dishwasher's performance had been degrading, so we decided to update both laundry and dish washing systems. I had selected basically what I though I wanted before walking into the store. Salesperson was friendly and helpful and not pushy at all. Did decide to upgrade the new dishwasher one model after seeing them side-by-side. The delivery guy was just here. He was on time, friendly, quiet, and efficient, and installed my three major appliances and a new garbage disposal unit I had seen in the store in impressively quick time. No problems anywhere in the whole process. Literally the most pleasant large household purchase like that I've been involved in in fifty years. Worked well with Greg Hayes in sales, but after I walked around for bit. There were other customers, but another salesman wash pushing a certain brand of washer/dryer over another for some reason. Greg was great and quickly able to help with both washer/dryer from LG, but also sold us on adding softener & filtration unit to our new house. The appliances came in really fast with pedastals and they are awesome so far. Greg was honest, experienced, personable, and not pushy when talking products and his time with Spencer's. Glad we went to Spencer's. Have experience with Best Buy, Costco, Sears, when buying appliances in the past. Spencer's was better than expected...so far. Found best deals and value with buying here than all other places I researched & visited. read more

It seems most bad reviews of this place have to do with repair. I called Spencer's and spoke with Justin at the Ray and i-10 location and he explained how their service works. After talking to him for several minutes I decided to go down to the store as I am in need of a Microwave. I was greeted right away by a gentlemen that turned out to be Justin and he showed me some microwaves. Next thing I know I am leaving with a whole kitchen. The experience was unlike any I have had before. Extremely knowledgeable, best prices I could find, huge selection and most importantly to me at the time was speedy install. Purchased a new dishwasher from Spencer's in Goodyear, AZ. We had heard Spencer's was overpriced but after shopping around online and the big-box stores, we found that was simply not true. Spencer's beat all of them, hands-down. I place the order online, received a call from Shane within 30 minutes, and they installed the dishwasher the next day. Same dishwasher listed with big-box stores for much less. And the fee for the removal and installation was significantly lower than the rest. Spencer's will be our go-to for appliances in the future. Every major appliance in our home has come from Spencer's over the past 15 years. We recently went in to purchase a new dishwasher. Our salesman, Nick, was polite, and able to answer any and all questions. We appreciate that he informed us of a special promotion they had on mattresses that would give us the dishwasher at no charge. We were in need of a new mattress so decided to listen and, without being pushy and due to his expertise, we bought one. We were especially pleased with the two installers, Elliot and Frank (Frankie). They were friendly, efficient, very patient, polite and cleaned up after their work. I recently bought a new Maytag washer and dryer at Spensers in Ahwatukee, and it was the best experience I've ever had in buying an appliance. I had already done my research and knew basically what I wanted. The salesman listened and didn't try to upsell me. I enjoyed his sense of humor also, which matched mine. The price was a great deal! Delivery was scheduled the following day, and I received a text and voicemail telling me the delivery window times. The delivery man called me to ask if he could deliver earlier. From the moment my wife & I entered Spencer's we were greeted by Nick & asked what we needed help with. We ended up buying a washer, dryer, refrigerator, range & microwave. I mentioned to Nick that I had purchased a TV on Amazon & he asked, if he could beat Amazon's price would I consider buying it from him, of course I said. He bested Amazon's price by $500. Delivery day, Jake & another fellow arrived ready to tackle our installation & removal of our washer, dryer, refrigerator, range & microwave.
