The waiting room is a gorgeous living room with complementary tea and warm towels. I've been coming to Spencer's for deep tissue and I recommend Gabriel as the therapist. He's the best! You do have to double check the street parking signs but most days it's free for two hours. read more

I really wanted to love this place because the space is absolutely beautiful. The decor is stunning, calming, and thoughtfully designed. Unfortunately, the massage itself was the complete opposite of what I expected. I booked a deep tissue massage (normally around $230, though I purchased a promotional deal), and it was honestly one of the most disappointing massages I've ever had. The treatment took place in what felt more like a small outdoor shed than a spa room, and there wasn't even any music playing, which made it difficult to relax. More importantly, the massage was incredibly light. I mentioned multiple times during the session that I wanted more pressure, but nothing changed. It never felt like a deep tissue massage just a very gentle, light-touch massage. When I checked out, I asked the front desk if I had definitely booked a deep tissue massage because I genuinely thought there must have been a mistake. They confirmed that I had, apologized for my experience, but didn't offer any resolution. Given the regular pricing, I can't recommend it. Even with a discounted rate, I didn't feel it was worth the cost. Beautiful space, but unfortunately the massage itself fell far short of expectations. read more

I had been coming to Spencer's with frequency since they opened and had majority very positive experiences, which lead me to refer friends and lead to my decision to get a membership for myself. Unfortunately my last experience was very unpleasant and the subsequent customer service so unhelpful that I will not be returning. During my last massage, my massage therapist collapsed twice during the appointment (after the first time assuring me she was fine, and then second time collapsing about a minute later.) I truly thought she needed immediate medical attention and despite being in nothing but a sheet, offered to run out to the desk and get her some. She insisted we continue with the massage, but it was so troubling and I was so worried about her that I ended the session early. When I went to check out I explained to the employee at the desk that I was quite worried about the woman who had given me my massage and that also now I was feeling the opposite of how a massage is supposed to leave you feeling. The front desk was not particularly helpful, telling me they couldn't refund my massage, saying maybe management can give me 15 extra minutes on my next massage, and asking if I'd like to leave gratuity. I got home and cancelled my membership, come to find I was charged again a month later. When I called to cancel (again) I was asked to give a reason for cancelling and once again was not shown much care for what a traumatic experience it was having a woman collapse during my appointment. For how much Spencer's costs, the customer service experience leaves much to be desired. I hope as they expand, they prioritize the customer (particularly the loyal customer) experience. read more

I received one decent massage, but that massage therapist wasn't available the next time I went, and received someone who seemed like she was in training and didn't know what she was doing. She applied very little pressure despite multiple requests to increase the level of pressure, but more than that, simply didn't have the intuition to find and release areas of tension. I wrote this feedback after the session and received a very bland reply that gave me even less confidence in their service if they claimed the person was a "senior massage therapist". I am not looking to go back but there was no attempt to make amends. This was their reply - "Amani is one of our senior massage therapists. That being said, I understand the experience did not meet your expectations. I would like to personally apologize that the treatment did not deliver the high standard we strive for at SPENCER'S. My fiancé and I came for a couples massage and had a wonderful experience. We get massages & facials very often but they are not often relaxing - the massage we got and really the entire experience from the second you walk into their courtyard was absolutely serene. I loved the homey, cozy, yet beautifully decorated living room waiting area. It was such a nice touch to get offered soft, branded socks upon entry, and help ourselves to tea while waiting for our treatment room to be prepared. We were taken to a separate house in the backyard, which was still consistent with the aesthetic of the front house. We were given towels to change into and some time to get settled before our massages. Michelle & Joanna were our massage therapists and did an amazing job. I came during a particularly stressful week and the massage provided so much relief for a short amount of time. This is truly one of the best massages I've had. I was excited to check out Spencer's, especially knowing its New York location is known for its luxe vibe and thoughtful design. The place in WeHo is beautiful and well-appointed, and you can see the effort in how it's set up. That said, my massage experience was disappointing. The session left me in more pain than when I walked in. It never really felt relaxing. Movements were rushed, uneven, and at times (especially around my neck) the pressure was hard and fast instead of intentional or soothing. The room lighting was also on the bright side, which made it harder to unwind. I appreciate the cool space and the brand's reputation, but in this location, the execution didn't match the aesthetics. If they dialed back the speed, softened the lighting, and focused more on flow and technique, it could be great. But as of now, it felt awkward rather than restorative. read more

*Beware of Misleading Information* I was told I'd be given a call by mgmt but never recieved one. I visited this spa after receiving a confirmation email that clearly stated "Free 2-hour street parking is available on Dorrington Avenue." When I arrived, I double-checked with the front desk. Claire confirmed that parking there was free, consistent with their email (pictures attached). Unfortunately, I returned to find a parking ticket stating Dorrington Avenue only allows permit parking. When I asked Claire about it, she backtracked. I have an email from Claire stating she gave me the wrong info bc she thought I was parked on the opposite side of the street. A simple "I'm not sure" instead of "yes you can park there" would have been better if she didn't know. She told me I should have followed the signs AFTER misleading me...there are many places in LA where businesses work with the city to provide street or plaza parking and I thought this was one of those cases. It's incredibly frustrating to be misled by both written AND verbal confirmation from the business. I relied on their instructions and it ended up costing me time and more money ruining my spa experience. ADVICE: As a business, it's important to take accountability, honor your mistakes, and come up with a resolution when it impacts your customer. I will be reporting this to the California Department of Consumer Affairs in hopes this helps all customers wrongfully done from this situation. read more

Niki, my Greek massage therapist, was great. I've booked "Deep Tissue" massages many times and never really seen a big difference between Swedish and Deep Tissue. With Niki it was my first time experiencing an actual deep tissue massage. The massage is intense. If you let her do her thing, it will be a lot to handle (which is what I want when booking deep tissue). But she talked through her process, we worked together, and focused on breathing while she went very deep into my back. Other therapists sometimes say "hm this is tight" here and there, but with Niki it was obvious she knew exactly what she was doing. She could tell when things were misaligned or asymmetrical. After the massage she focused on proper recovery. Since then my posture, neck position, head placement and more have all noticeably improved. read more

I've been going to spas for many years. The vibe was very pleasant but the $300 facial was lacking. I requested the head, neck, and shoulder massage with my cryotherapy facial. She was extremely heavy handed. I did not find it relaxing. She basically worked on my face with heavy hands and some in my chest. If you want cryotherapy use ice cubes. They really wasn't much of anything to this facial and it was certainly not worth $300. I do not recommend Spencer's spa. Now my jaw hurts. read more

I was running a few minutes late and I called in advance to let them know, the woman who answered the phone was so sweet and calming, it makes SUCH a difference when you have friendly people working in spas. I found parking easily (could be the time/day I went, but don't be like me and get there early just to make sure you have enough time to find parking/ check signs and all). The spa is tucked in greenery which made it so private yet so inviting. When I entered, I was greeted to check in and led inside. The spa is set in a Spanish-style home, it's so intimate and beautiful. Truly felt like such a luxurious experience. The girl who led me in was so kind (didn't get her name) but I asked her if I could park on the street and she offered to go check where I had parked to make sure I was good. Ofc the star of the show was my facial. I got a 75 min detox facial with Madison. I loved her energy. She was professional and warm, I felt very comfortable from the moment I entered the space. Madison was very intentional about everything, explained what she was doing, checked in and just made it a lovely experience overall. Spencers is the most overpriced massages in LA. They literally do the massage in the back of the house in a shed. There are ZERO amenities at this place. To pay $270 for a massage and they don't even offer ANY parking. The massage was nothing special! You can get the same massage at any of the hundreds of spas in LA that offer showers, steamrooms, saunas, jacuzzis and many other amenities. I don't understand why anyone would come here. I gifted a service to a friend here and they would not let him use the gift card for a package they were offering which made no sense, he got angry and gave the gift card back to me so I used it because they would not give me my money back. It took and hour on the phone with them to figure out how to give me back the gift card so I could use it myself. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE.
