Private Mani-Pedi lounge ...!!
Cory B.

I can't begin to describe the beauty and sense of "well-being" this jewel of a spa exudes ... The photos while gorgeous... cannot do justice to this high-end destination. Given it's inside the 5 Star Peninsula Hotel, on the far west region of Beverly Hills, you expect pricing to be exorbitant. But honestly ... it actually is good value if what you're after is a luxury spa day that will send you home euphoric and exquisitely beautiful from the inside out! I was treated to the signature pedicure, which was an hour (and then some) experience of pure bliss. I lucked out with senior technician Alex, who was as warm and lovely as you could hope. The whole experience in and of itself was extraordinary. I then moved on to a deep tissue massage with senior masseuse Steven... once again pure bliss. He got in deep to all those places that you always wish somebody would have the courage to dive into - and somehow managed to be both gentle and thorough... Truly was such a joy. The spa is managed expertly by MELISSA, who is warm and personable and worked to clear up a misunderstanding on services. There are of course a plethora of high-end luxury spa is in and around Beverly Hills... for that matter throughout Southern California... But I can honestly say having been to quite a few - this is THE ONE to try... A few "critiques" I might offer- as I believe the spa deserves to book the business it desires... But there's some changes that should be addressed to make it a truly fair, equitable experience - particularly for those that this is indeed an indulgence (and not an "every day entitlement"): There are other reviews written in the last 10 months that reflect they greet guests with a glass of their favorite champagne... Given that I spent upwards of $500 for my experience, was surprised that this was not included nor mentioned. Again this was just in the past 10 months (during Covid) so they might want to address- Could lead to certain guests feeling left out...? The front desk staff is green, and quite honestly not as well groomed nor professional as you would hope from 5 Star spa. The gal who checked me in was disheveled, seemed introverted, and the other young gal who showed me around the small ladies room didn't point out the amenities... In fact I had to figure out what was going on with the sauna myself. This is hardly the kind of lack of etiquette and training you would expect from a luxury spa charging upwards of $200 a massage. Another critique: For the pricing, it would be lovely if they had a steam shower or Jacuzzi... or ANY of the usual "wet rooms" generally found in a full spa. The amenity that they offer, the sauna, is extraordinary - but again- for the pricing... you hope there would be some of these other regular spa amenities. Another challenge was misinformation on spa hours, as well as when the manager would be in. The lack of communication between staff and management is reflected in other reviews, but let's just say that it would've been lovely if they had told me they were closing early given the hour posted (see sign in photos!) was 9 PM, and I fully expected to be able to relax and enjoy the sauna after my massage on Christmas Day. However, somewhere along the way the executive decision was made to shut down early... so I was rushed out after spending $500 to relax on a holiday... Guests deserve the courtesy of learning this (especially as it was not hectic- no excuse for not communicating), and there was light pressure for me to move my services up earlier (I arrived early so I could relax after working) that I realize in hindsight was because they wished to close early. It's just kind of left a bit of a negative taste after investing what I had into relaxing and unwinding. Last critiques: it's a small space, VERY well laid out. Given how luxuriously ample the downstairs areas are- a bit of a surprise. And... the core colors for the most part are on the money... But the predominant color in the lounge and nail lounge is ... pink. Bright pink. With butterflies and flowers (there's a stunning chandelier that's giant glass flowers... with butterflies) In this day and age... seems a bit "un" gender-neutral, and I would guess might leave more old-school, "masculine taste" men folk feeling a bit ... out of place? I lean towards relaxing, neutral colors in a spa... Tans and blues and beiges that soothe and calm the mind. So bright pink just seems a bit "off". But overall again - a beautiful experience... if you're looking for a weekend appointment - be sure you give plenty of advance notice, as it does tend to sell out throughout the week. Enjoy the photos ... then be sure to enjoy this experience. Ask them to quote you hours prior to arriving so you can plan accordingly, and you might also wish to inquire how many guests they expect (sauna only accommodated one person at a time - so if more than three guests wishing to enjoy ...) Must-Call. Thank you.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!! The hotel is a complete vibe! I had one of the best massages with Steven( I think that's his name) very firm pressure. Straight to the point no fluffy stuff. The infused water, incredible. Staff, extremely friendly and helpful. After leaving the spa, the front of the hotel had a harpist playing and the energy was impeccable throughout the entire place. Definitely recommend. They only have a sauna if you want more wet rooms this is not the place

This is the second time I've been back for their couples massages. Two words: mind blowing!!! Jessica & Karen are the best yet they we have had the pleasure of being massaged by. Their techniques are elaborate. Today Karen gave me a Hot Moroccan oil head massage, which was amazing in releasing my migraine tension. They spoil you here with personal locker rooms, tea, ordourves and catering to your every need. I will be back

This is an excerpt from my review of the hotel. But I think they deserve their own review... It is small, but nice. I love the Violet candles they burn at the front. So soothing. It's like an oasis in there. You can buy the candles so you can have a little Peninsula at home. The girls at the front are really sweet and they always remember you. If you want a facial or want the most beautiful brows, ask for Sudie. I've been going to her for almost 10 years. She is the BEST! If you want a great massage, ask for Alma. People say she has a little bit of a 6th sense, because she is EXTRA in tune with your body. You'll have to book with her to get what I mean. It is pricey, but it is absolute luxury.

I love Stephanie. I have had massages for years and can say she is absolutely the best there is that I have had. She took her time to listen to my body and double down on it. I am also typically ticklish, and she helps me with a trick to get more comfortable. She was a able to get knots out without making me feel sore at the end or any burns.

A slice of heaven on earth!

Today I went in because of tension of my shoulders and I was literally beaten up by my female massage therapist. I told her three times that it hurt and to go lighter and she ignored imy request. She just used her elbow deep into me. I'm expecting to wake up with bruises all over my body. At one point, I was tempted to get up and leave, but I kept thinking it was gonna get better. I did tip her because she worked hard, but I'm very disappointed that this place that I loved now allows anybody to give a very painful massage. The extra star was because I previously had great experiences. I also had to take a bath right when I got home because the lotion she used smelled really horrible. I want to write this directly to the owners, but there's no email or way of contacting management.

I booked a massage with Justin and WOW he was incredible, he listened to my requests and tended to my concerns with professionalism and great skill. I have had my share of massages and I had never experienced some of the techniques he performed, my body felt revitalized a good 2 days after Justin worked his magic!! Since I enjoyed the vibe so much I decided to book a facial. I recently have been wanting to focus on my skincare and I figured this would be a great way to start. I had the pleasure of booking with Naira after I heard raving reviews about her service I was super excited. Naira does not disappoint! She is so experienced and knowledgeable not only about skin but health in general. I have learned so many things about my skin and certain foods that I had no clue would negatively affect my skin. Well after purchasing a package of 6 microdermabrasion treatments my skin feels like butta!!! I have significantly less break outs and a new confidence with the skin I'm in. Thank You Naira!! Oh and before you leave be sure to check out the products sold at the front. I am obsessed with their Pore Minimizer by Ultraluxe. It can be used as a primer and it completely changes the outcome of my makeup. The pore minimizer makes the application so smooth and leaves your skin flawless while serving as a guard from harsh chemicals. Highly recommend trying this as well as the other eclectic finds in the shop. It's such a treat to come in and be greeted by Joan and Liz, they are such a delightful team and helpful in every way. The spa also has parking so I mean seriously why would you go anywhere else?!

Reviews are so good on here and on Groupon that I purchased a deal for a 40-minute massage as a trial run. I arrived with no time to spare and Lisa was already at the front to greet me and take me back right away. There were at least 1 or 2 people receiving a service (probably foot reflexology?) right there when I walked in which I thought was a bit awkward, out in the open like that. I was taken upstairs to one of the therapy rooms, and right off the bat, I didn't like the way it smelled. There was nothing bad or wrong, I just didn't like it. Lisa had me get on the table face-up, which I'm not used to. I primarily need work on my back so it always makes sense for me to start face-down. I wasn't given a choice, so I just went with it. When my massage therapist started on me, she hadn't confirmed that I wanted a Swedish (though thankfully she didn't try to upsell me on deep tissue or even a longer massage) and hadn't asked if I had any health issues or injuries she should know about (I do) or whether there were any areas I wanted to focus on or stay away from (there were). But I desperately needed to relax so I didn't say anything and again just went with it. While on my back, the massage was fine. I liked some of her compression techniques, which were new to me but effective (and preferable to thumbs, knuckles, fists, etc). But after I flipped over, I really did not expect my therapist to get on top of me--and not even ask first. I'm pretty sure she massaged my back with each of her feet at one point (alternating) and she definitely sat on top of me to open up my hips. I didn't really know what to say--you expect this sort of thing in a Thai massage or at an Asian spa, but here was a tall, full-grown woman sitting on my butt and pinning me down. I couldn't breathe. Fortunately, it didn't last long, but in retrospect it really seems like the kind of thing they should warn you about or ask permission to do. Maybe some people would consider all that a pleasant surprise, but it just wasn't my thing. The one thing I really liked was how the massage table is adjustable to move up and down. That made some parts of the massage much more comfortable. Unfortunately, that's not enough to bring me back.

And judging by previous reviews, even customers who called ahead still didn't get the therapist they requested. At that point, the problem isn't "communication," it's management. Does it really cost that much to fix a broken booking system? Also, if Trung (who appeared old enough to be retired) is being assigned physically demanding reflexology sessions because it's cheaper or more convenient for the business, that's not a great look either. If this is an ongoing issue, it honestly makes booking here feel unreliable no matter how good your therapists are. ------------------------- Previous review: Why have an online booking system that lets clients choose a provider if the assigned therapist isn't actually guaranteed? I specifically booked a one-hour foot reflexology session with Jackson, but was assigned to Trung instead upon arrival. Trung was kind, but he appeared much older and didn't have the strength I was expecting for a reflexology session, so the experience wasn't what I booked for. I still tipped because I felt bad that he was working at his age. When I brought up the provider mismatch to the receptionist afterward, I was told that even if a specific name is assigned during online booking, the actual therapist is not guaranteed. That policy should really be made clear upfront before customers book.

The therapists are on a rotation of some sort so it may be difficult to schedule a specific person unless you decide to schedule a few days ahead. Having different therapists is fun though; each worker has their own style. You might get a couple's room by yourself or a standard room. No heated massage tables but that's usually fine. The temperature is comfortable and there's ambient music/nature noise sounds playing. In terms of customization, you can more or less say what you DON'T want but saying where to focus doesn't lead to much extra on the trouble spots. To be clear, the best of them will give you a massage you'll actively hate (unless you're a masochist) and if you get a particularly strong therapist you'll be sore the next day. However, after that you will feel limber and pain free for a bit once the DOMS from having your muscles kneaded like dough go away. Three notes: if you park early enough and the valet guys aren't around just toss the orange cone to the side. The bathroom is a separate part of the building and they'll give you a key. Buy the gift certificates--flat rate and if you buy ten massages you get two free; you must use them all in a year from the time of purchase. TL;DR the worst you'll get from here is a satisfying massage and the best will make you feel like your muscles and joints just got rejuvenated by a couple months. Heavena is a bit more pricey than some of their neighbors but the therapists put in the work and if you don't say they made you groan or try to shift away some I'll either call you a liar or assume you have a back made of concrete.
