The hotel and spa are very beautiful and clean but very small. They only have a very tiny dry sauna , no steam room or jacuzzi which is disappointing . The lounge area is also very small. I went on Mother's Day and I would say I would avoid going on a busier day because of the small space. There were 4 people in the changing area as I was trying to change and we were bumping elbows . The massage was wonderful but for the price you're paying it would be nice to have more amenities . read more

Being this is my 3rd Yelp review, and going to this luxurious spa on and off for over a decade, things have definitely changed over the years. When I arrived at 8:35am for my Signature Pedicure appointment for 9:00am with Farah, I was put off guard with no warm greeting from the front desk. In fact, no one was around when I arrived. When I come to this spa, I always get my Signature Pedicure with Farah. The spa is supposed to be open at 8:30am. What gives!??!? Anyway, fast forward to my appointment time, Farah greeted me promptly with a smile and whisked me away from the utter silence of the front desk. Farah did an amazing job with my pedicure, as always! I'm NEVER disappointed with her services! When my services were completed, someone from the front desk showed up to assist me with checkout. The spa is still sparkling clean and well kept, just like I always remembered. Gone, are certain products like Shiffa and other brands I've loved. They still carry Voyage Et Cie candles that smell heavenly. Because of the ghost town I encountered when I arrived, I'm dismissing one star on this Yelp review. I can't begin to describe the beauty and sense of "well-being" this jewel of a spa exudes ... The photos while gorgeous... cannot do justice to this high-end destination. Given it's inside the 5 Star Peninsula Hotel, on the far west region of Beverly Hills, you expect pricing to be exorbitant. But honestly ... it actually is good value if what you're after is a luxury spa day that will send you home euphoric and exquisitely beautiful from the inside out! I was treated to the signature pedicure, which was an hour (and then some) experience of pure bliss. I lucked out with senior technician Alex, who was as warm and lovely as you could hope. The whole experience in and of itself was extraordinary. I then moved on to a deep tissue massage with senior masseuse Steven... once again pure bliss. He got in deep to all those places that you always wish somebody would have the courage to dive into - and somehow managed to be both gentle and thorough... Truly was such a joy. The spa is managed expertly by MELISSA, who is warm and personable and worked to clear up a misunderstanding on services. There are of course a plethora of high-end luxury spa is in and around Beverly Hills... for that matter throughout Southern California... But I can honestly say having been to quite a few - this is THE ONE to try... A few "critiques" I might offer- as I believe the spa deserves to book the business it desires... But there's some changes that should be addressed to make it a truly fair, equitable experience - particularly for those that this is indeed an indulgence (and not an "every day entitlement"): There are other reviews written in the last 10 months that reflect they greet guests with a glass of their favorite champagne... Given that I spent upwards of $500 for my experience, was surprised that this was not included nor mentioned. Again this was just in the past 10 months (during Covid) so they might want to address- Could lead to certain guests feeling left out...? The front desk staff is green, and quite honestly not as well groomed nor professional as you would hope from 5 Star spa. The gal who checked me in was disheveled, seemed introverted, and the other young gal who showed me around the small ladies room didn't point out the amenities... In fact I had to figure out what was going on with the sauna myself. This is hardly the kind of lack of etiquette and training you would expect from a luxury spa charging upwards of $200 a massage. Another critique: For the pricing, it would be lovely if they had a steam shower or Jacuzzi... or ANY of the usual "wet rooms" generally found in a full spa. The amenity that they offer, the sauna, is extraordinary - but again- for the pricing... you hope there would be some of these other regular spa amenities. Another challenge was misinformation on spa hours, as well as when the manager would be in. The lack of communication between staff and management is reflected in other reviews, but let's just say that it would've been lovely if they had told me they were closing early given the hour posted (see sign in photos!) was 9 PM, and I fully expected to be able to relax and enjoy the sauna after my massage on Christmas Day. However, somewhere along the way the executive decision was made to shut down early... so I was rushed out after spending $500 to relax on a holiday... Guests deserve the courtesy of learning this (especially as it was not hectic- no excuse for not communicating), and there was light pressure for me to move my services up earlier (I arrived early so I could relax after working) that I realize in hindsight was because they wished to close early. It's just kind of left a bit of a negative taste after investing what I had into relaxing and unwinding. Last critiques: it's a small space, VERY well laid out. Given how luxuriously ample the downstairs areas are- a bit of a surprise. And... the core colors for the most part are on the money... But the predominant color in the lounge and nail lounge is ... pink. Bright pink. With butterflies and flowers (there's a stunning chandelier that's giant glass flowers... with butterflies) In this day and age... seems a bit "un" gender-neutral, and I would guess might leave more old-school, "masculine taste" men folk feeling a bit ... out of place? I lean towards relaxing, neutral colors in a spa... Tans and blues and beiges that soothe and calm the mind. So bright pink just seems a bit "off". But overall again - a beautiful experience... if you're looking for a weekend appointment - be sure you give plenty of advance notice, as it does tend to sell out throughout the week. Enjoy the photos ... then be sure to enjoy this experience. Ask them to quote you hours prior to arriving so you can plan accordingly, and you might also wish to inquire how many guests they expect (sauna only accommodated one person at a time - so if more than three guests wishing to enjoy ...) The relaxation waiting room is tiny with generic department store decor. There is an accent wall with protruding "art" in the form of flowers and half of the flowers are broken. The food and beverage amenities involve only water and tea and the facility amenities are very very limited. For what I paid, I expected more. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!! The hotel is a complete vibe! I had one of the best massages with Steven( I think that's his name) very firm pressure. Straight to the point no fluffy stuff. The infused water, incredible. Staff, extremely friendly and helpful. After leaving the spa, the front of the hotel had a harpist playing and the energy was impeccable throughout the entire place. Let me start by saying that if it were an option, I would give this place 3.5 stars. I don't have any major complaints. The facility is beautiful. The relaxation lounge and the locker rooms are beautifully decorated. The locker room has everything that you need including robes, slippers, combs, etc. (very impressed that the shower caps included a hair tie!) The staff was very friendly. My couples massage was okay. Although, I did realize that the treatment room was on the exterior of the hotel floor which meant I could hear outside traffic, kids playing, etc during my treatment. I loved the eucalyptus steam room. But considering how high their prices were, I expected there to also be a sauna or hot tub in the amenities area as well. If you are staying at the hotel and want to go to the spa, great. Go for it. But for locals and others that are looking for a little more, there are some other wonderful options in the area that have more and cost less. read more

It's like an oasis in there. You can buy the candles so you can have a little Peninsula at home. The girls at the front are really sweet and they always remember you. If you want a facial or want the most beautiful brows, ask for Sudie. I've been going to her for almost 10 years. She is the BEST! If you want a great massage, ask for Alma. I love The Peninsula Hotel, and their tea time is amazing and elegant. I was pretty thrilled to get the chance to try out their spa. It's pretty spacious as you step in. Very clean, calm, the staff were friendly and helpful. The Women's Locker room was real nice. A few bathrooms, a small locker room area with vanity filled with small toiletries and blow dryer. The basics of what we Women need to get beautified :) The steam room was real small, I would say a tight squeeze of 4. I was by myself so I just laid down and enjoyed the hot steam. Nice refreshing cucumber water as you step out. Ladies make sure to get hydrated as much as possible if you go in the steam room. The lounge area is Co-ed. Very relaxing and a zen like feeling. A few chairs with a small private sitting area in the back for 2. There were some complimentary drinks and snacks. I ordered there coffee and it was surprisingly real good. I got a 60 min massage and my masseuse was great. I told her my problem areas and that I needed to get rid of all the knots. She was friendly and attentive. The 60 min felt like 30 because it was so relaxing I never wanted it to end. She also gave me a few options of what lotions or oils I wanted. I recommend the Lavendar. Overall great experience. Pricey yes, but honestly you can find a great Thai massage or any other massage elsewhere for half the price. however it is a nice experience to have once in your life. read more

I really liked the Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa, ultra luxurious! Their women's lounge area has modern lockers, all the locker amenities you would want like hair band, cotton, mouth wash, hairspray, hair dryer. You get a robe to wear and slippers and as many towels as you want to use. There's a smallish eucalyptus steam room that I swear I was the only one to use although I saw about 15 guests come through the lounge. There is fruit, almonds, cucumber water, Fiji water, hot tea. There are all the new magazines from this month. The lounge is pretty small, two bathroom stalls, two showers, two lounge chairs and maybe 10 lockers and one vanity area. But very nicely appointed with pearlescent blue tiles and marble. The serenity lounge waiting area is more sizeable, 4 lounge chairs and a private cabana-type are with magazines galore and blankets. The staff are super sweet. I had a facial with Luba and she's great! Very calming and gentle, Asked if I wanted her to suggest products instead of pushing them on me. Then she got me tea and a little pastry after the facial! The checkout desk people are so-so. my checkout lady was not too busy, so she took her time with me and was really sweet. The girl who checked me in just pointed me in the direction of the locker room even though it was my first time there, so I had to search for everything by opening doors. She forgot to give me an intake form and I filled that out after the visit. That is the one star off as well as for smallish facilities. Check it out if you have the cash to spare! read more

I received a gift certificate from a friend. This place is just out of my budget. Anyways, the experience itself was amazing. You can park on the streets for free for two hours or at a meter. However, you run the risk of a ticket if you're getting a lengthy service, like a massage or facial. To my surprise, the Spa validates for valet service. You only have to pay $8, instead of the $35 standard fee. I must admit it was a little daunting to pull my car up amidst all the BMW's, Mercedes Benz, Bentley's, Rolls Royce's, Jags. You get the idea. The valet guys were very polite and made me feel like a VIP. Thank you! It's a little trick to get to the Spa, but the hotel staff is more than accommodating. A gentlemen actually escorted me there. The Spa itself is beautiful and so relaxing. I swear the rooms are sound proof. It's hard to distinguish the doors from the walls, because it's all in this smoky glass. I almost got hit by a therapist exiting the room. No big deal. She was super nice. Everything leading into my massage was wonderful. I felt like Eddie Murphy's character in "Coming to America". All I needed was some rose petals. The Massage: Wow! Mary Barragan was my therapist. From beginning to end, a complete professional: Courteous, nice, knowledgeable. I felt as though my massage was tailor made for me. She has a unique style that allowed me to surrender immediately. Many therapists start working on your back. Mary started at my feet. I asked, "Why this departure from the norm?" She repiled, "I like to move circulation upward and through your whole body." It seemed like he didn't know anything about muscles nor human body, his massage was equivalent to making a dough for pizza. The second time it was a female, and she was as bad as him! When I discovered the charge, I called the manager and she argued with me, claiming that I confirmed the appointment. WHAT? I've never experienced such horrible disregard for the customer! My massage (by Alma) and my facial (Sudie) were the best I have ever had! Alma almost has a sixth sense, and can feel your energy to determine where you are having problems. I had a big event to go to that evening, and my face looked fabulous after Sudie finished with it!
