No tap water available apparently. Watch out for the "you're gonna pay for it if you like it or not" service charge.

So I have this friend who told me that I HAVE to try out Spencerville Deli because their food was sooo good. It turns out that this person must not be my friend. Not much went right on my lunchtime visit. To start, the place was cold enough to store meat without refrigeration but I kept my coat on so it was fine. I got the menu and ordered water and my standard test food for any tex/mex location, medium rare Carne Asade. Things went downhill from there. -- The silverware was delivered in an enigmatically taped shut paper bag. -- The water that I ordered turned into a bottle of Deer Park ($2). -- When the steak showed up it was...uhm...something. -- At least one third of it was tough fat and gristle (see pic). -- To call its temperature well done would be more accurate than medium-well which is brutal since I ordered medium-rare. -- If I was to describe the flavor of the carne asada I would go with "salty." -- The salad on the plate was the best part of the whole meal, TBH. -- The rice was meh. So the bill shows up and stunningly there's a $5 "service charge" on the bill. No explanation or warning about that. Normally, I give a place like this a second chance but for some reason I get the vibe that I am consistently going to be disappointed so I'm going to pass on this one.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!! There is a quaint "Date Night" deli out in Spencerville Maryland (not to far from Beltsville M.D.). I say date night spot because who knew it was also a restaurant. They needed a spotlight...I pulled up!! . Where I am: @spencervilledeli . Location Reviewed: 2215 Spencerville Rd., Spencerville M.D. . Menu Includes: *See Instagram* . Items Reviewed: Their Mocktail (with orange juice, grenadine, & bubbles $12). STAMP!! A sweet red, bubbly orange juice!! Their Revelutas Pupusas (2 pork & cheese pupusas with pickled cabbage $4.25). LIKE THAT!! Cheesy, with a marinated pork, & tangy cabbage!! Their Birria Tacos (3 beef Birria tacos with melted mozzarella, a grilled jalapeno, & consummé on flour tortillas $17.99). STAMP!! They were on a flour tortilla, meaty, & that consummé was Jih sweet, & spicy!! Their Camarones Brochette (jumbo shrimp stuffed with jalapeño peppers, mozzarella cheese, wrapped in bacon, with onions, rice, & black beans $24.99). DECENT!! Nice & sizzling, good, I just needed that bacon crispy. Their Camarones La Diabla (jumbo shrimp in a spicy red sauce $17.99). STAMP!! Spicy hot, but well seasoned, and tasty!! . Customer Service: On Point . Online Navigation: Easy. . Parking: Rough . Music: YouTube-Backyard Band Pocket . Recommendations: Great quaint Date Night spot!! Get the shrimp!! . Accessibility: It's wheelchair friendly, & it's differently abled persons friendly. 5 Stars=STAMP 4 1/2 Stars=LIKE THAT 4 Stars=DELICIOUS 3 Stars=DECENT 2 Stars=PASS 1 Star=NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

The food was quite good. The Tprtss was well.made and a goof value. The papusa was well filled. The burrito was generous. The seating was plentiful. Apparently on weekends they have music and dancing

This is a hidden gem located on the side on Rt 198. It's a little hole in the wall where place is clean, friendly servers and great fresh home cooked Latino-American food. My wife had The Chicken Soft Tacos which are always fresh and good. I had 1 Chorizo Soft Taco and 1 Beef Soft Taco, the chorizo was awesome, the beef was strips of beef but the meet was I little tough, both served with a sauce on the side which was scrumptious. We ordered Guacomole on the side which also is homeade and great. They have a full bar with TV Beer and wine available for carry out. In the area? You gotta stop in.

You may be tempted to drive by this place. Don't! This place has been under new ownership for a year. Much of the old menu remains. The new owners added a number of Latin dishes. Featuring fresh quac and a variety of homemade salas. The best tasting dishes we had were the beef tacos, a few pieces were not complely tender, but you get tons of really tasty beef in each taco. You should try it. The other dish was the chicken taquito appetizer. Great flavor. Also had the chicken quesadilla which was very good. Took half of it home. The owner is very nice along with her staff. The place is casual, comfortable, and clean. Check this place out.

Beef quesadillas was BEEFY and delicious! More than enough for 2 people. The tacos are also more than we expected with bursts of flavors. Ordered to go but decided to stay and dine-in which was an enjoyable treat as they have heated lamps on the patio where we sat comfortably. People come in and out with food. We will definitely come back and try the rest of the dishes. Service was fast and friendly.

Mystery meat Carne Asada cooked to a chewy crisp with a side of watery guacomole.

I would leave a 1 star review but I feel like they are not taken seriously, like writing in all caps, I would leave 0 stars if I actually could. I ordered the Carne Asada, chicken quesadilla and a small side of guacamole to go. As you can see in my pic, the Carne Asada was a thin strip of some mystery steak with a giant piece of fat, cooked to a shoe leather consistency. The small guacamole for $2.99 lived up to it's small description and had a watery consistency as a bonus. The chicken quesadillas was not worth $10 considering the amount of meat it came with and I strongly suspect they reheated someone's leftovers as it came with three small triangle pieces and one strip cut. Normal quesadillas would be 2 triangle and 2 strips when cut from a semi circle. As for the flavor of the food, it was bland. I was really looking forward to this place but was so disappointed I felt compelled to write my first review in years because it should be illegal for a restaurant to charge such high prices for such low quality, barely edible food.

The beef was tasty and perfectly done to the temp that I like. The fries were typical and totally fine. Service was a little lacking in some areas. I had to ask for a spoon for the bowl of mussels. We had to ask for more water. Since we noticed that the servers came around to other tables (mostly to clear empty plates), we thought it was okay to ask a nearby server (who was not our original server) for more water. She didn't seem happy about it because she let out a sigh and didn't say a word. She did come back with a carafe of water and left it on the table. And while she was there, we asked for more ketchup because the bottle on our table was empty. She came back with a full bottle but again, did not say a word even after we thanked her both for the water and for the ketchup. Noise level: Loud. Must speak with raised voices in outside patio when all the tables are occupied with diners. There is a TV screen but that was muted. 80's music (which I love) was playing. This is only my 23rd 1-star review and crazy the 2nd business in this shopping center! See my 1-star review of Tropical Smoothie Cafe written last week (updated from my 2023 2-star review) of them. Maybe 1-2 years ago I ordered my food, and then asked for a cup of water. The guy said we have bottled water for sale, and I said no, just a free cup of water with my meal. He said we don't do that here, and told him I'm not giving any money and to cancel my order. I suggested to him that they should start giving courtesy cups of water with meal. A few months ago I was over there, and I wanted to test if Naz's changed a year later. They still didn't. The cashier said that all the Naz's don't offer the courtesy cup except for Columbia location as they had taken over the Halal Guys, which the set up of the restaurant was different for the coke machine. I've considered to try the Columbia location once, but I'm skeptical because it's still Naz's company policy to not offer courtesy cup of water to a paying food customer. It's not just that the Burtonsville only location are being jerks; it's Naz's as a whole. On Sunday, July 13, as a hail mary after the 1-star Burtonsville Tropical Smoothie Cafe right next door (see my recent review) was going to charge me $1.35 per cup of water even though we would've been paying customers. I said to my girlfriend, I'm sure Naz's will deny the water too, but let's test them, and I asked do you give a free cup of water with meal, which cashier once again said no. So, we ended up at ISAAC's across the street. I'll get around to a 5-star review of them in the future. My girlfriend said this shopping center sucks! Only Tropical Smoothie to not give courtesy cup + Naz's right next door. Also, it's the worst Roy Rogers location even though in March 2019, I see I wrote a 4-star review; various more recent experiences warrant 2-star for them if I ever get around to it. And the worst Greene Turtle I've been to; see my 3-star of the Burtonsville location. For good restaurants, go across the street to ISAAC's, Playa Bowl, or even freakin' Chipotle!
