We tried the belle meade location and loved it, so we decided to try the cool springs location this time, and it was wonderful as well. We always get the jumbo lump crab cakes for our appetizer because they are the absolute best! For our drinks we got the vodka martini with blue cheese olives, and an old fashioned. Both are great! For our lunch we got the Reuben with shoestring fries, and the Cajun grilled mahi sandwiche with sweet potato fries. Both were terrific. We were both way too full to get dessert this time around. For my entrée, I ordered the Filet Oskar, and it was absolutely fabulous! The filet was cooked to perfection, topped with plenty of lump crab meat, and the flavor was incredible. I highly recommend it! I paired it with a loaded baked potato, which was the perfect complement to the meal. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the staff surprised us with a complimentary dessert, the famous Sperry's "Snowball" Sundae. Wow... it was soooo good and the perfect ending to a fantastic dinner! One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is the service. It is consistently outstanding. I completely understand why Sperry's is considered a Nashville institution. From the moment we walked in, we were drawn to the beautiful dark wood décor, romantic atmosphere, crisp cloth napkins, and impressive salad bar. There's definitely a classic charm here that makes the restaurant feel special. You could also tell this is a beloved local favorite. Several guests clearly knew the waitstaff by name, and the bartenders seemed to know exactly what their regulars were drinking before they even ordered. That kind of loyalty says a lot. Unfortunately, it's been a few weeks since my husband and I dined here, and the one thing we still talk about is how disappointing the seafood tower was. At $150 for two people, the portions were shockingly small and felt nowhere near worth the price. We received 3-4 inch pieces of snow crab legs, two tiny strips of lobster (that looked more like grilled chicken strips), five pieces of shrimp, five oysters, and four scallops. For that price point, we expected something far more substantial and impressive. We dine out often and understand market prices but the cost compared to what was served, was well above 'market.' The experience overall had so much potential, and the atmosphere truly delivered. If this was just about the steak, it would be a 4. I had the ribeye and my wife had the filet. We both thought the steaks were cooked properly to temperature and were tender, but the seasoning was light beyond the salt which was appropriate. Everything else was just okay and not up to the level of a Franklin steakhouse. The place has layout issues. The servers station is right in the middle of everything and they servers and manager congregate there and talk loudly. They also have a warming drawer at the end that I assume is for the bread they constantly open and slam shut. Really detracts from the fine dining experience. The salad bar is tired. I love a good salad bar and this one is just basic. We both thought it was unfortunately minimal but did appreciate everything that was on it was fresh and the plates were cold. It does overlook part of the kitchen and the two cooks were pretty engrossed in the soccer match on their phone. Volume was up pretty loud. The creamed spinach has almost no flavor besides the spinach. The signature lobster Mac and cheese had good chunks of lobster, but beyond that was flavorless. We wouldn't order either again. It was our anniversary and they brought us their sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I thought it was tasty, but wife thought it was too sweet. Service was good. No complaints except I appreciate the table being bussed between courses and the dirty dishes just sat. We went to Sperry's while I was visiting in town, and I gotta tell you, it was fantastic! We were seated quickly, and Madison, our server was awesome!! I was in town with my Aunt and Uncle and we were late to go to lunch but Sperry's was still serving lunch ever around 2pm. It is a surprisingly walk in for your first time. The outside area looks good but when you walk inside this place it is way more than just good. This is a very high level restaurant and it was only easy and quick for us to walk in since we were at the odd time of the lunch break. This place is for sure a place to go to if you're from out of town and had never seen it. All the people that live near there go to that place constantly for sure. I'm so disappointed. I usually go to Sperry's in Belle Meade but decided to check out the other location last night. 1. Dress code was not enforced. Multiple people in sweat shits, jeans, etc. 2. We had a reservation for 8:15pm, checked in on time yet were not seated until 8:40pm 3. We put in the reservation notes and told the hostess when she asked that we were celebrating our birthday, yet we did not get any acknowledgment nor the birthday card with the photo that many other tables got. 4. We got our appetizers delivered and within 10 minutes our main course came out and we were asked if we were done when we just had started eating them which felt very rushed 5. One of the best classic steakhouses we have in middle TN. They are busy 7 nights a week so make a reservation. They have a dress code that's really business casual but if you don't want to follow that, you can be seated in the bar area. I've been half a dozen times, always order steak but this trip, did their roasted prime rib. Great change, cooked perfectly. They have a small but nice salad bar and I'd recommend their garlic housemade dressing. It was our 31 wedding anniversary and my wife had the 8oz center cut filet. We started with the smoked salmon and toast tips. I had a manhattan and she had a martini. We finished with their special dessert, bananas foster that is prepared table side. Great staff and service. We went here for our anniversary dinner and had a wonderful time! Bread was not notable, but the Caesar salad was 9/10 (some shaved parmesan would make it 10/10); I ordered the bacon-wrapped filet mignon which was absolute perfection. The garlic whipped potatoes were a solid 8/10 as well; generous portions. The sticky toffee pudding was an option for a birthday/anniversary dessert and it was lovely, but the real star of the show was the Bananas Foster for two that they make table-side. They also do a phenomenal job of remembering special occasions when you list it in your reservation, and we loved the complimentary photo as well (someone comes around with a nice camera and takes your photo). Lucky enough to have Sperry's for a work event last night. This is almost the same order I reviewed recently, however it highlights one of my favorite things about Sperrys, CONSISTENCY! Started off the meal with the smoked salmon dip which was a huge hit at our table! Subtle hints of smoky flavor and no fish flavor to be found, mixed with a small baked flatbread/toast for a great appetizer. The mango and sausage stuffed mushrooms, again. This flavor combination sounds so off if you haven't tried it but the savory and sweet combination is incredible. The 8oz flier presents much larger than a typical 8oz (never a bad thing) and was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare. Seasoned to perfection with just salt and pepper. The asparagus was wood grilled or charred and had a slight woody/smoky flavor because of it and was also seasoned with salt and pepper but could have used a little more salt for me. The loaded baked potato is as immaculate. The potato itself was cooked incredible, very tender with no hard or tough spots inside. Smothered in a layer of cheddar cheese. The coolest part of this experience was that it was a work event with a pre fixed menu. Typically that results in subpar menu options, food preparation and quality from my experience. However, everything came out perfect. (Also reason why I don't have as many pictures as usual for this review) The server was exceptional, I lack his name, but he helped us pick out the perfect red wine to accompany our meal, and even got one of our patrons a Caesar salad instead of house salad despite it not being on our pre fixe menu. I had never been to the Franklin Sperrys before, only the original location. Upon entering you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two. Both have a dark lit environment, and exact same layout almost. We have been here a few times and love to return. Only reason we don't is that it's a 40 minute drive. As usual the service was excellent and the meal was even better. Alfonzo is an excellent server and made good recommendations. My wife took him up on the daily special bone in rib with whipped garlic mashed potatoes with a blue cheese sauce. We had the escargot for an appetizer well I should say I had it. Largest snails I've had in that dish and were prepared perfectly. I had the NY Strip and it was close to fork tender not something you find in a strip and I had a side of the mango sausage stuffed mushrooms which you just need to try. We like to dine at Sperry's, Cool Springs, when we are in Franklin. We had another delightful, delicious dinner tonight. Josh greeted us, promptly checked us in, and seated us at our requested table. Nika was an absolute delight in addition to being an excellent server. Brock who waited on us in February, remembered us and came over to greet us. That is the kind of service you rarely find in any restaurant! The wedge salad was delicious as were the escargots (my husband said). The Prince William steak was perfectly cooked and tender. The huge shrimp cocktail, creamed spinach and twice baked potato were also delicious. Look forward to returning next time we are in town! Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. (Actual day of) We had heard so many good reviews and thought we would try. Made a reservation for 6pm and noted our anniversary on the reservation. We waited about 20-30 minutes or so once checked in. They had a good amount of people waiting as well for tables that also had reservations. Once seated, our waiter seemed busy with surrounding tables. We ordered the salad bar, Caesar salad, crab cake entree's. However, it seemed all the tables surrounding us that were waited on later than us received their salads much quicker. At least salad bar was help your self and my husband insisted that I go ahead to the salad bar instead of continuing to wait for his salad. I had been through my salad plate and waiter asked if we were enjoying the salad bar and we reminded him of my husbands Caesar salad that he was waiting on. He quickly went to the register and then later came out with the salad. As we were waiting on our entree, different servers multiple times approached us with other plates and we motioned that we didn't order and they took them back to the kitchen stage area. (Steak, spinach, Mac & cheese, lobster Mac &cheese.) Upon the last waiter approaching our table we told him it wasn't ours and that we had already been approached by others with the incorrect meals. We told him we ordered Crab cake. Our waiter went to the register again and came over and seemed flustered and said it would be out. We were right at the kitchen area and register so could see all the commotion. By now, those that came in after us were finished their meals and leaving. The manager came over, I think after all the mix ups, didn't really say anything other than let her know if we need anything. I mentioned to her it was our anniversary, she said congratulations and that we would be getting a dessert. Surprised me, as I read on other reviews that for special occasions they provide a picture and card. I even noticed someone with a camera going to the hostess desk. Oh well, good thing we took the selfie in the lobby as we were waiting to be seated. Our crab cakes came out and they were actually delicious. All lump crab meat, almost better than in Maryland. The waiter did apologize and came out with a desert menu and said we could pick what we want for dessert even the banana foster. So, of course we did the banana foster. Which was great as well. Overall, the food was great but lacked in overall experience in the service within the restaurant as a whole. Initial I thought Sperry's would be comparable to Jeff Rubies and hoping for a step above Jay Alexander's or Bricktop's, but found they are not as experienced and attentive. They also seem to have difficulty turning tables in order to turn over reservations. When plates were cleared no one pulled crumbs off table. It's the attentiveness that was lacking overall. The food was fabulous, but given our special evening felt lack luster from the service. To me an evening out is not only the quality of the food but the experience as well. read more

Crab cakes are amazing. Shrimp cocktail is good but you need to ask for extra horseradish if you like it that way. Steaks are great, be aware that "medium" here is closer to medium rare in other places. Love the variety in the salad bar. Our server was very pleasant and they were accommodating even when we were a little tardy. The place is very nicely decorated for Christmas, I like the background music and it has a family-restaurant cozy feel while still offering the high end steakhouse experience.
