My wife and I love Brazilian steakhouses, so anytime we travel, we make it a point to try one. While visiting Boston for a Patriots game, we decided to check out Spettus Steak House, and we were so glad we did. From the outside, the restaurant looks plain and unassuming, but once inside, it's modern, comfortable, and inviting. We had made reservations, but when we arrived, the place wasn't too crowded. The staff greeted us warmly and explained that we could either do the full rodizio or choose specific meats and pay by the pound. Naturally, we went for the full rodizio experience. The salad bar was a pleasant surprise. Unlike other Brazilian steakhouses that focus mainly on cold cuts, cheeses, and salads, Spettus had a smaller selection of cold items but an impressive variety of hot dishes such as pastas, meatballs, rice, and chicken parm. Everything was flavorful and fresh, and honestly, I could've been perfectly happy just eating from the salad bar alone. We also noticed that a good number of customers were doing takeout, which might explain the larger selection of hot foods. Then came the main event, the meats. Since it was a slower evening and we were the only table doing the full rodizio, we basically had personalized service. The gentleman serving the meats was friendly, attentive, and clearly took pride in what he was serving. He offered great recommendations, took our requests, and playfully encouraged us to take "just one more slice" each time he came around. Every cut we tried was excellent, but the garlic steak really stood out for its flavor. The sausage was fantastic, and the absolute stars of the night were the picanha and the grilled pineapple. I could eat those two forever and be completely content. Overall, Spettus Steak House delivered a top-notch experience that easily rivals some of the larger chain Brazilian steakhouses. I came here with a hungry large group and we went to town. The place was very casual, the service was very very friendly, and the food was delicious. I don't have a ton of experience with Brazilian steakhouses, so I'm gonna be comparing this to a certain other large Brazilian meatery that's a national chain with a location in Boston that I've been to. I'll give you a hint it: starts with F and it ends in "chow". I'll cut straight to the chase - the meats are FANTASTIC. Maybe we came here on a particularly good day, but everything was cooked really, really well. The meat came out piping hot, all with great sears, and basically everything except the chicken was a perfect medium rare. And more importantly - it was well seasoned!! Never had to reach for the S&P shakers. We all did the full rodizio option in which an unlimited amount of meats get rotated at your table and you take as much as you want each turn. The buffet table is also included, and I was pleasantly surprised that everything tasted quite good and fresh and looked much better in person than in a lot of the photos on Yelp. The Caesar salad was quite fresh and crisp, the beans were soft and rich, and the beets were very simple but very deliciously cooked and sweet. There were some meaty options that looked good, including hefty chunks of pork belly, meatballs, a meaty lasagna, but I opted to save room for when the gaucho came by. In comparison to the big national chain place that starts with an F, I would say: - cost is about the same for all-you-can-eat once you include drinks and stuff - meat is way better seasoned and more evenly cooked at Spettus - buffet is meatier at Spettus, but bougier at Fogo (whoops I said it). You won't be finding smoked salmon or prosciutto here, but you could fill up way more easily on just the buffet at Spettus. I would come back here. Worth the price. With two beverages and dessert it ended up being around $70, so it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for! Honestly very confused this place doesn't get higher reviews here! read more

Last night we all showed up dressed and ready to celebrate his birthday, and when we arrived they looked at us like we had 4 heads. We made the reservation for 730 and they informed us they were about to close and we could grab to go plates but that's about it. This is a hidden gem in Quincy for Brazilian BBQ! Don't be fooled by its humble exterior. The inside is relatively new looking and the bathrooms are clean. It is surrounded by a huge parking lot in the back. The hot food buffet has variety with delicious spaghetti and meatballs and broccoli. The cold food buffet offers a variety of salads. The different beef cuts are wonderful and not to be missed is the chicken hearts. The flan is a hearty portion and can easily feed three people. Service is friendly and prompt. read more

I got just the buffet, which is cheaper than getting the bbq included. My plate came out to around 13 dollars for 1.1 pounds and the bill had auto gratuity included but they didn't tell us so I thought I had to tip on top of it which was annoying. Their suggested additional tips weren't too high as the auto service charge was 18% so luckily I didn't have to pay too much on top of it. The service was fine, our waters were slow but the waiters were all nice. The food itself is also pretty mediocre, but the braised pork was not good. It was tough and chewy, hard to swallow. I am not sure why this place has low rating, but their foos is excellent. I gave been here many times and in my opinion It's an affordable Brazilian Rodizio (AYCE) in south shore area. The restaurant has spacious parking, it has cozy and intimate vibes. Service was decent too. The food in the buffet areas is good but go crazy on the meat!!! The food was presented fresh at least when I went at lunch time! The grill area for meats was excellent and freshly cut in front of you. The place is super clean and inviting with lots of parking available the service is basically the cashier... it's self service and what was abit expensive was your choices of food was weighted and they give you the amount due! It works out about $20 per person with a modest amount on your plate. Even though it's a nice location and food was tasty and fresh I think I rather go to a sit down Brazilian Restaurant that will go around serving hot meats on a skewer till your totally satisfied and full. Plus giving a tip to the cashier or 20% or more when we serve ourselves and also tip the grill master seems abit much. But in retrospect must be popular with the many Brazilian families in Quincy and that's a good thing cause looks like the cashier did not speak English since she only spoke to my guest who was Brazilian that suggested we go there for lunch. I got delivery via GrubHub. It was pretty bad. I ordered the top sirloin medium rare and I only received pieces that were well done that didn't even seem to have been bbq'd. It was like they were steamed. The sirloin also tasted off, like a tinge of sour. Now that I realize, I have to throw it away. I NEVER throw away food, but I wouldn't be surprised if I get sick. They substituted chicken thigh for bacon wrapped, which was fine. The sausage was also fine. The sides were good, except they forgot one. I'm only giving two stars instead of one because I feel bad GrubHub refunded me what I think is an unfairly high amount for just a missing large side. But it's probably fair considering the sirloin. In case the timing matters, this was on a Tue at 6:42, arrived at 7:25, and they close at 9. If you can't provide decent, not starting to go bad food via delivery on a certain day or time, just shut off those services. I have been coming to Spettus since before the renovations and it's always been a warm and welcoming spot! Now it's looks even nicer! The food is good and I especially love it because you never know what to expect. You can always find a rice dish, but sometimes mixed with beans. Red beans, pinto beans. Some type of stew chicken or beef stew. Maybe an Alfredo or marinara pasta. Sweet plantain.. mixed green salad. Potato salad. A creamy pasta salad. 3.5 stars on this app is a disservice. If you're considering this place, please do not let a 3.5 stop you from going. I am BEGGING! Food here is FANTASTIC. The flavor of the meats is akin to if not BETTER THAN the steakhouses you know and love (you know the ones...). When I tell you the flavor was amazing, I mean it. Ambiance is very comfortable. Restaurant looks like you'd expect one thing from the outside, but when you enter it is superbly decorated and feels very warm and inviting. Some people here have mentioned the service, and sure, our server seemed as if she was manning both tables AND to go orders/PBP (pay by plate). The same server did not end up closing our check, but if you NEEDED something, all you had to do was ask. We asked our Gaucho (the guy who came around with the meats) for what we needed, and he obliged and got someone on it for us. The AYCE option is available and we made it very clear that is what we came for. We had no troubles or confusion between that, and pay by plate. Fewer salad bar options than what I have seen at other similar eateries, however. Options they had were delicious but there is more salad bar variety elsewhere. WE WILL BE COMING BACK! read more

Great place to go with a group self seating can accommodate without waiting. Lots of different options of meats as well as vegetarian options. I loved the salad bar and thought everything tastes fresh. As far a prices it's a little confusing--you don't pay until the end so it's hard to tell how much your plate will cost and if you get the all you can eat option it's only worth it if you eat a lot because it's over $50. Great, something that would fit the bill for the both of us. We get there, and although the signs clearly indicate it is an all you can eat buffet giving prices with meat and without, they walk us deep into the seating area and then tell us that they are not serving as a buffet, but instead it will be priced by the pound. We had other things to do that day and were so hungry that we just stayed. Although the place seemed clean and the food was pretty fresh. This place has had renovations on the inside since the last time I remember. The inside looks beautiful and is always spotless. My husband and I really enjoy the buffet lunch option on weekends because there's more than enough options and everything looks and tastes fresh. I also really like the feijoada which is like a black bean stew with fatty meatparts. It's perfect over white rice. Hispanics have a similar dish, but I think Brazilians do it better. Shhh! Don't tell my Abuela! If your new here I would just try a little bit of everything from the buffet. I've never tried anything here I didn't like. I don't even like kale and I tried a kale salad they had at their buffet and I loved it. I would just recommend weighing your food because I personally think the unlimited meat rodizio option is too much meat. The only thing I don't like about this restaurant is the parking. The parking lot looks a little abandoned and the lines for the spots has faded so the cars just park wherever they think the lines should be. How low the mighty have fallen I had a tremendous experience at this restaurant back when they were located in Wollaston. Gorgeous skewers of meat would be brought to my table. I would flip over the little card from red to green. It would keep coming until I flipped the card back to red and left fat and happy. This was NOT that. What I got here, instead, was being told that they no longer serve Brazilian BBQ in the traditional fashion. Now you must wait at a counter, attempt to place an order and HOPE that the meat is cooked to your liking (for myself, I prefer extremely rare). And, of course, it is no longer "all you can eat". You must pay by the pound which I can assure you is astronomical as is all meat - quality or otherwise - that is priced per pound. If I wanted to be charged the kind of prices one would find at a traditional steakhouse, I would *go* to a traditional steakhouse. To make matters worse, upon their buffet I happened upon a tray full of Salmon labeled "Beef". Whilst that would be concerning in and of itself, the fact that I am *extremely* allergic to seafood means that this sort of sloppiness GUARANTEES cross-contamination. I shouldn't be worried about triggering my SEAFOOD allergy at a place that is SUPPOSED to serve MEAT ON SKEWERS. As for the atmosphere, between the general noise and the screaming children, I've had a more relaxing time at the DMV. The service here is wonderful. My partner and I were having a date night where we dress up real fancy and then go wherever we want. Upon seeing our clothes, they matched the service!! Offering wine, explaining everything, making sure my partner got the best caipirinha of his life. Don't even get me started on the food, it was so good. We came a bit late, and even then, the meat was beautifully seasoned and wonderfully cooked. If you want anything a little more rare or a little more cooked, all you have to do is ask. First Brazilian steak house experience in Quincy! I am comparing to other steakhouses in Boston but this experience was sub par unfortunately. 1. All the meat was VERY chewy (this is medium/medium rare). Maybe I came in a day with a bad batch. But you could tell the meat was not good quality. I got the picanha (6/10) and the garlic beef (0/10). Couldn't eat the garlic beef at all. 2. Buffet options were limited. No cheese options as compared to competitors. No pao de Quijo in the morning buffet when I came. I was told they sometimes have it. 3. Customer service was okay. It def felt that they were short staffed and perhaps my post covid experience will be different. They did add automatic gratuity which is fine given COVID. 4. Pricing structure is different. Currently only options are the standard $9.95 charge per pound . They charge 11 plus for a plate with 25% more meat. Haven't seen that in other Brazilian places in the Boston area yet. They are charging somewhat a hefty price for that quality. I will probably not come here again. Unfortunate because I live so close. read more
