This place is so nostalgic because it took over Joy Tsin Lau and I went to so many weddings there growing up. The interior is a bit confusing because I'm not sure what they were going for BUT the food is amazing. A simple cucumber salad was so delicious. Everything we ordered was 10/10. Warning: if you ask for spicy, it is very spicy!

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is so modern and cute. I loved the flowers around the chandeliers! It definitely was a great experience for our first time at this restaurant. We have tried Yi Pin in Lancaster where we are from and it was just as great. Highly recommend trying this place! Also the mapo tofu sauce was super spicy!!

This place is open late at night and has good eats. They have a full bar, tons of seating and a robust menu. the chicken and the fried rice were good. The soup dumplings were tasty too and wish we ordered more. The staff is attentive and very fast. Def recommend and we met a celebrity leaving the restaurant too.

Another great place in China Town! A vast menu that I wish I had more time to explore. Kept it pretty basic with some garlic sauce tofu and broccoli. A table near ours ordered a huge cross-section of the menu and had us wishing we could join their table, lol. Friendly service, late hours, and even room to do karaoke if you so desire.

This place is great if you want a late night snack after a long night out. After going to Trestle Inn, we decided to head out to Yi Pin. Lucky for us, they were open and serving food until 2am. The place has a gorgeous interior full of different kinds of chandeliers. There was even a tv in the center which was used for karaoke. Our server came out pretty quickly to take our orders. We got Dandan Noodles and Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice. The Dandan Noodles and Pinapple Seafood Fried Rice were ok. I felt like the Pinapple Seafood Fried Rice was lacking in flavor and there wasn't a lot of seafood in there (there was artificial crab meat and shrimp in small quantities). The pineapples would have been better if they came in bigger chunks. I ended up putting some of the Dandan sauce in the fried rice to help make it taste less plain.

We came here because the neighboring restaurants were full. It was a mistake... we should've know by how empty the restaurant was on a friday evening. All dishes were a bit off in different ways. The crispy milk wasn't as soft as it should be. The crispy sweet corn was over sprinkled with sugar, but the salted egg yolk flavor was interesting. The spicy beef was over cooked and the beef was too tough to chew. The environment was clean. Food was slow to arrive and the restaurant only had two other tables to serve...

Came here after a concert at almost midnight. The food was incredible! We got the shrimp dumplings, garlic sauce with tofu, and mapo tofu (not pictured) we shared the dishes because they were a lot more food than it initially appeared The food was hot! And super fresh and came out really quickly. A lovely place with lovely staff!

My friend loves Sichuan food and recommended this place! They have a karaoke stage up front which is pretty interesting. Dumpling in Chili Sauce 8/10 - tangy spicy note - filling was good and skin was chewy Fried String Beans 10/10 - had the crunch to it still, not overly salted - nicely seasoned Double Cooked Pork Belly 9/10 - I expected it to be large chunks, but definitely enjoyed the thin slices much more - very flavorful oily goodness Dry Chicken 8/10 - crispy - would've liked there to be bigger chunks of chicken Spice level was perfect for all the dishes -- enough to get the heat but still enjoy the food! Service was a bit below average as staff seemed inattentive and didn't check up on us or fill our waters. We ended up having to go up front to ask for our check and to go boxes.

The restaurant offers an authentic Sichuan-style cuisine with delightful decor. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. If you're not a fan of spicy food, be cautious as the menu has a special marking--a red pepper symbol--to indicate the spiciness. 私心推薦麻辣口口脆跟千頁豆腐,都是很有特色的菜!

I visited Yi Pin Restaurant on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 9 pm. Yi Pin is not your typical Chinese restaurant with the outdated menus and zodiac placemats (although not saying that there's anything wrong with that as some of the best authentic Chinese food can be served in your hole-in-the-wall restaurants). Yi Pin had an interesting ambience because the interior design is very nature-esque with the floral chandeliers and plant wall art, but had alternative rock playlist playing in the background. All of which, I didn't mind because I enjoyed the music. The food at Yi Pin is rustic, homey, and even more elevated compared to a chain like PF Chang, but still tasted authentic. Many of the dishes had great portions that are good to share with a group if you're doing family-style. The dim sum selections like the shrimp dumplings, dumplings in chili oil, and soup dumplings tasted like they were made fresh in-house and were flavorful. The cucumbers with mashed garlic was a great refreshing side to complement the meal. I really enjoyed the mapo tofu with minced pork because it was spicy and I thought it was a nice comfort dish that ate well with the rice. Service was average. I received service from multiple servers; one was attentive and the other was not quite as so. But that didn't take much from my overall experience. In summary, Yi Pin offers some authentic, great tasting food in a unique ambience.

There are not that many restaurants open late in the area. As it gets later in the night, your options really dwindle down, so I appreciate that Yi Pin is a place that stays open later. Plus, they have karaoke too if you want to sing your heart out to Mandarin pop music, but I have not seen anyone on the stage yet. I did dine-in twice and takeout once. My first time, I had the dan dan noodles and beef dry pot. Both were delicious. The second time, I had the crispy duck, string beans, and a rice dish. I could not tell if it was one dish or all the dishes that were salty. The third time, I did takeout and had a few different dumplings, scallion pancakes, beef lo mein, shrimp fried rice, and double cooked pork belly fried rice. The dumplings and scallion pancakes were good. The beef lo mein was a little salty. The shrimp fried rice was okay. The pork belly fried rice was tasty but a little greasy. The menu has a lot of options, and the food is good for doing family-style since portions are on the bigger side. However, the quality seems a little inconsistent. The service was very quick for dine-in, but my dine-in experiences were during the late-night period when it was pretty empty so daytime service might be different. Yi Pin is not my first choice, but it is a good fallback choice when not much else is open late at night or when other places have too long of a wait time for takeout or delivery.

The homemade DanDan noodles were our favorite, which are served with ground pork in a spicy peanut sauce. We also got the three cup chicken which was so good, with a sweet, licorice-like glaze. Some other favorites were the black pepper chicken and the long hot chicken, if you enjoy spice. We had the ginger and scallion dish and was not our favorite, as the chicken had a unique consistency and was quite limp. Overall, good service and a relaxing ambiance in a bustling city.

Unfortunately the experience at pickup wasn't the best. I asked if they had included utensils and the gentleman at the counter said no. I asked for some since I was bringing the food back to my hotel and wouldn't have anything to eat with. He was pretty dismissive and didn't seem to want to give me anything. (I also didn't get any napkins.) Just a little strange when ordering takeout, utensils should be included right? Or at the very least be readily given out when requested? He begrudgingly gave me 2 pairs of chopsticks and a fork, said he ran out of spoons. I didn't notice the lack of napkins until I got back. Now for the food. We ordered dan dan noodles, a chicken lo mein, and Taiwanese minced pork rice. The noodle dishes were decent but the lo mein was a bit too al dente for our liking...especially for our young son. Didn't get a chance to eat the rice because we were all too full from the noodles. Appreciate the generous portions at least. Will see if the rice will make it home safely with us and reheats well. Can't speak on the ambience. Wasn't in there long enough to really look around. Will I order from them again or try in person in the future? I'm not sure. I wasn't blown away by the food or service so...

On this cold almost summer day, Nan Zhou was hustling and bustling. Separate parties at the same round table and clients coming in and out of the restaurant facade. Warm lighting and active banter. I received my bowl of beef noodle soup was pretty satisfied. Beef was tender with flavorful bites of fattiness. Somehow, the meat tastes beefier than beef. The cilantro had potent herbaceous flavor with some spinach(?) and mustard greens. Noodles were pleasantly chewy w variation in texture. Lowkey, everything else was alright. I like to be nice so I'll say no more. Cucumbers were fine

This place was packed, which is always a good sign, and even with that the staff stayed super prompt and professional. The house special was my favorite. I got it with the knife-cut noodles and it was perfect with the broth. The noodles had that slightly uneven, chewy texture that really holds onto the soup. I never thought I'd be the type to talk about "mouthfeel" but here we are. The broth itself was rich and savory with a deep beef flavor, a little bit of oil on top that adds body without feeling too heavy. It's that classic, comforting Chinese beef noodle soup done really well. I added a braised egg, which had great flavor soaked into it, though it was served cold, which threw me off a bit. The mapo tofu with noodles was also really solid. It had that signature spicy, numbing kick from the Sichuan peppercorns, balanced with a savory, slightly salty sauce. The tofu was soft and silky, and mixing it with the noodles made it extra satisfying. It's got some heat but not overwhelming, just enough to keep you going back for another bite. The shrimp stir fry was lighter but still flavorful. The shrimp were cooked well, tender with a slight snap, and the sauce leaned more on the savory side with a mild sweetness. It felt like a nice balance alongside the heavier noodle dishes. Couple practical things: it's cash only, but there's an ATM right by the seating area which makes it easy. And the portions are generous for the price, so it feels like a really good deal. Overall, super satisfying spot. Busy, a little chaotic, but the food absolutely delivers. Definitely a go-to if you're craving hand-pulled noodles.

A bit on the higher priced side for this dish but as I've had some great food from a different Han Dynasty location I didn't mind trying them out. Portion size was average on the chicken. The spice level says 8/10 but it was definitely on the weaker side. Maybe the peppers themselves were older / dried out and the flavor faded too much vs fresher peppers right before cooking. Maybe a bad choice of dish or an off day but as compared to a few other Sichuan dry pepper dishes from other restaurants around Philly it was a clear step below them. Might try a different choice if I order again.
