I had Spice Junction for the first time last night and it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the service was attentive. It is located only 4 minutes from my office. I can see myself becoming a regular! The place is remodeled and is well appointed. My family and I wanted Indian food on a Friday night. We were excited to try Spice Junction as we've heard they're the former owners of Swagat. We decided to order take out. We were told that the food would take 15-20 minutes. When we came to the restaurant, it was busy. We were understandable as it was a Friday night, and went ahead to pay for our order. 30 minutes went by and the food was not ready. No one bothered to update us on our order. Additional 15 minutes later, we asked and they said they're waiting on the garlic naan. We waited a whole hour at the restaurant for our food to be done! It's ridiculous. It took almost an hour and a half from when we placed our order. For a new restaurant, who has had experience in the restaurant business, this is unacceptable. Now for the food. We ordered the honey chili cauliflower, apollo fish, murg malai tikka, butter chicken, lamb biryani, and garlic naan. Can't go wrong with the cauliflower, butter chicken and biryani. Honestly, the food was good. I love supporting small businesses, however, the service just left a distaste in our mouths and for that I have to leave a one star review. Something has to be done in the organization and efficiency in the kitchen. Maybe don't order take out and just dine in. read more

Great new Indian restaurant! We tried the chili cauliflower, butter chicken, and navratan korma which were all great.

Our son and I went to Spice Junction on Coursey Blvd tonight, and it was as good as any Indian we've had in town. We enjoyed the Gobi Manchurian, Chicken Wings, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan. The Naanwich appetizer was a favorite, and the owners/managers came by to ensure we were enjoying everything we ordered. They even brought us a nice rice pudding dessert to try after the meal. We'll definitely be back soon to explore more of the menu. read more

It is good to see a new face in this location. Unfortunately, I found the food disappointing. The sauces tasted too much of whatever was used to thicken them and the chicken inside the sauce was dry, as though it was fully cooked before it was added to the sauce. As usual with Indian food it was better the second day, but not good enough to make me visit again.The rice pudding was thinner than I prefer. Service was very good once we got seated and the owners were very nice. I would visit again with friends if they insisted, but am debating whether to wait a few months and give them another try or just take them off the list completely. read more

Delicious authentic Indian food!! Beautiful setup with a relaxing atmosphere. I felt so welcomed and service was great! I've never had Indian food so Chadra took his time to walk me through the menu and he gave some great recommendations. The owner checked on me and had a kind personality. There is plenty of options from fish, chicken, goat, lobster, shrimp and vegan options. You can also pick your spice level for every option. I had the Indian hot and I was sweating/ nose dripping. I had the Apollo fish and spice junction special chicken, onion cucumber salad and mango lassi. I really liked everything- no complaints. The mango lassi is so darn good - it tasted danimals yogurt smoothie. I appreciate that prices are very reasonable and the serving sizes match! They have beautiful patio with a swing. Worst experience in a restaurant in a long time. Arrived around noon, restaurant was half full. Hostess seated me took & my drink order, handed me a menu & said the waitress will be with you shortly. After a few minutes the hostess (NOT the waitress) returned with my drink and again said the waitress would be with me. After 5 more minutes - still nothing. I tried looking and motioning to wait staff, but they were only interested in other seated tables. No one came to ask if I had been served, or that they would be there in a moment, or even acknowledgment that I was in the restaurant. Apparently there's no management on the floor checking that things are OK, there I suppose which doesn't speak well for the food quality. After another 5 minutes I gave up. The staff was attending to other tables but refused to serve me. I had been sitting for nearly 15 minutes and no waitstaff came to even check my table. The Hostess seating people had far more experience than the incompetent waitstaff. I'll never set foot in there again. There are two, far better, Indian restaurants literally down the road from this spot. read more

Loved everything about this place!! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the wait staff was incredibly friendly! The chef even came out to chat with a few tables, which showed how much they actually care. The decor was modern and everything was clean, including the bathrooms! The patio was adorable and even had a swing and the perfect spot to take selfies! All of the food was incredible and flavorful - best naan I've ever had! Food is great, service needs some work. There's no sense of urgency with to go orders and somewhat disorganized. Also be careful of the rebar sticking out of the parking block- almost took my entire fender off. But again food was delish. read more

Noticed Spice Junction had an open sign and we ducked in to give it a try. They are still in the soft opening phase, but the service was excellent and the food was even better. I work on Sherwood and this will definitely be my go to for Indian. read more

The food is wonderful! However, I made the mistake of ordering takeout on one of their first Friday nights open. The restaurant is very small, and their tables were too small to fit the parties of 5 or more who were coming to eat. There was space to wait for my order at the bar, but the waitress bumped into me at least 5 times, so I eventually scooted down to a bar seat far away from the tables to get out of her way. In the fall and winter, the patio seating will be great for guests to dine in. But it's too hot now to enjoy eating out there and to make use of that seating. My biggest issue was that the young man who took my order on the phone said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived in that time, paid, and sat at the bar for over an hour waiting for my food. No one noticed how long I was waiting or offered to check on things for me. I had to ask two different young men to check on my order as the first one I asked left and never came back to update me. I was a bit shocked that it took this long to prepare a small to go order. I'm never one to make a complaint on yelp, but I figure this was criticism the restaurant would benefit from. I thought I'd give it 30 min or so as I saw they were busy, and I know it takes a new restaurant some time to get their bearings. But an hour and 15 minutes is far too long a wait time without any staff being at all concerned about how long you've sat there unattended. With all that being said, we ordered the chili chicken, chicken 65 and goat curry- all Indian spicy. VERY spicy, VERY delicious! We have decided that will return, but probably not on a busy Friday night! read more

The service was very attentive and good. Our food came out fast and not sure if that was due to the fact that we ordered two dishes ordered frequently by locals, but it was a very much appreciated. My wife felt her dish was over salted but that could be just a palette thing. My butter chicken was flavorful, and I ordered mine mild and it did have a hint of heat and perfect for me. We will be back. Be prepared to wait if you go during busy times as the overflow seating for the smallish interior is outside in South Louisiana heat. read more
