I find the food here is the best out of several Indian restaurants in Lafayette. The service is absolutely exceptional. I couldn't tell you when the last time I've gone to a restaurant and was tended to hand and foot. The waiter was on his game. Cups never ran dry, helpful recommendations, table kept tidy, napkins kept fresh, and an awesome attitude. So I placed an order for the Butter Chicken and the Tandoori Salmon through a delivery service ( I didn't want to deal with the Mardi Gras parade traffic). Well my review isn't going to be as glowing as many for this place. The butter chicken was okay. But only had like 4 or 5 cut up pieces of chicken chunks. The salmon on the other hand was horrible. Way overcooked (Look at the picture) and smelled fishy. It tasted as bad as it looked. Total waste of money. I will never order from this place again. Flavor City I ordered through DoorDash it I will def be back for an in person visit. Packed with flavour and actually hearty for curry. Meaning, the actual curry was hearty. The first dish was the Hot and Sour Soup. Full of diced/minced veggies. More of a broth style consistency with the fluid of the soup. So good! I also saw curry in the menu and had to give it a try. I chose the Coconut Shrimp Curry. Good portion of shrimp in my opinion. Usually places give you 3 or four it seems. The curry has is cooked in a coconut sauce with curry leaves and cilantro. Great lunch buffet. They have plenty choose from. The goat was one of the best things on the buffet. Everything had excellent flavor the earthiness from the cinnamon made the goat fantastic. So, I'm officially old fashioned . The first thing after a welcoming greeting was a presentation of a small piece of paper with a scan code that was supposed to be our menus. My guest had never been anywhere except for Indian buffets ( I absolutely hate ALL buffets) and I was trying to introduce him to real Indian food. Kudos For our server as I immediately changed the game plan, and begin ordering an arrangement of dishes by actually talking to our server about what the kitchen was good at providing their patrons. We ordered garlic naan, saag paneer, Tandoori chicken, lamb vindaloo and a yellow dal. Our waiter took the order without writing anything down. He was helpful and was able to give us a choice of beers with our meal. Bottom line? the food is damn good! The service was great. The ambience was a neutral decor-functional and clean. We have been frequenting this establishment weekly since our first visit. We haven't been able to make the weekend buffet. Try new things every time and also order some favorites. While there were some dishes we didn't love (again, new to Indian food), there was nothing we hated. And still, servers willing to answer all questions and adhere to dietary preferences. I'm the person that states "no cilantro in anything" They are so nice and accommodating. If your food takes a while, it likely bc it's made from scratch/to order. Really good. I suggest the Lamb Tika Masala. It is really good. Also the Chai tea is good. It is a real Indian chai that is better than the Starbucks coffee shop syrup type because it is not to sweet. They have a buffet some times if you are not familiar with the food so you can try a variety of items to find out what you like. In general, I prefer ordering off the menu because I prefer my food to be fresh at any restaurant. The food is not to greasy which has been a problem at other Indian restaurants. 5 stars read more

They have a BIG problem with CONSISTENCY. It's like a the wheel fortune, you don't know what you're getting when you order a dish. Tried coconut curry shrimp 3 times, tasted differently each time. Coconut curry shrimp - exactly the same as shrimp kurma. Kurma is supposedly made of cashews. Ordered Lamb saag 2 different times; 1st was great, the 2nd time was way greasy and not as good. Chicken Manchurian is chili chicken. Ordered chicken Manchurian 2x, they gave me chili chicken both times, I threw them away both times. Don't bother trying Vindaloo. The goat curry is awesome but won't try ordering it the 2nd time, I'm sure it's going to be different. Butter chicken- so so. Even the Gulab Jamon is different each time. One time it was oblong instead of round. The rice is basmati 3 x, one time it's jasmine. They just couldn't get it together! I grew up in NYC, Jackson Diner in New Hyde Park and Jackson heights have the best Indian Food and are consistent every time. This place Eh and Ugh! 3 times I have ordered from his restaurant and 3 times my order has been wrong when I got home with my food. 1) naan was forgotten and our dinner was delayed over an hour while we waited for the naan to be delivered. 2) saag paneer was made with chicken instead of paneer (even though the ticket said paneer) and my vegetarian father had nothing to eat besides rice and naan. 3) naan ordered without cilantro came covered in cilantro and samosas came without the chutney and tamarind dipping sauces. This is so disappointing because the food is actually very good. But for their high price point, Small portions and headache of repeated wrong orders, we won't be ordering from here again. The manager/assistant chef went to each table. He explained to us how the restaurant got started. It's 3 years old now. Like others have said, ambiance was just good.
