We 100% absolutely love this place. For real. I found it by scrolling through to the 20th something pages of Yelp recommendations because I was tired of seeing the same choices in my area and that's how we found this. We've been twice so far in the last two weeks so I'll mesh my reviews for both experiences together. First, they have a happy hour during the week. If I remember correctly I think it might be byob, can't remember, but the happy hour is for food and it is awesome! A couple of the items we were going to order anyway ended up being on the discounted menu like the gobi Manchurian, which I order at every single Indian place I go to. My boyfriend ordered some kind of tilapia fish sticks, weird for me, but whatever he said they were fantastic too. The mango lassis were perfect and only $1.95 during HH. Not going to lie, the gobi Manchurian was very, very spicy so the next time we went in I asked them to tone it down a little and they made it just right. No joke, that cook knows what he/she is doing. For example, my boyfriend is doing low carb so he asked if they would make his gobi with just the cauliflower with the sauce/veggies on the side so he could cut down his sugar intake and they didn't blink an eye at his request. In fact, the dish came out perfect just how he wanted it. Service here is very professional. I loved seeing how diverse the clientele was at the restaurant, literally everybody and their mom, and they were so friendly to everyone. I was introduced to this place by a friend. I fell in love with this place on the first visit. Luckily, I happened to intern close to this location and this was my go-to place for lunch during the 3 month internship stint. I went with their non-veg thali and was never disappointed. They change the menu/items served with the thali every day so I was never bored of the food. I almost always loved all the food that was served. It tasted fresh and very much home-made. The service was quick and they would refill any of the items on the thali, which is unusual. A few months later, I also catered food from them and all the guests loved the food. The food was prepared on time and the staff was helpful in stowing it into a van. I have also had food at other parties, catered from here and I always enjoyed the food. Service was ok. The reduced stars was due to the food. To start the papad they served was stale and somewhat undercooked. We then had the samosas for an appetizer and they were cold in the middle. They are likely using frozen samosas. They did bring out new ones of course which were perfectly warm. For the entrée I ordered goat curry. Bones are expected with goat but most restaurants remove the small bones leaving the larger ones in. This plate however had the smallest of bones still in there making it impossible to chew without fear of hurting my teeth. There was also as much bone as meat, if not more. I am Indian and I love Indian food; this place unfortunately was subpar. read more

Eh nothing special AT ALL. There was a piece of crumbled paper in my samosa box. The lamb was filled with too much oil and the chicken seek kabob was as dry as sand. Excellent customer service and very friendly. It took a while to cook the eggplant, not a problem. Unfortunately, it was the worst Indian food I have ever had , too spicy (and I like spicy) with no flavor. The rice was excellent, the samosas were mushy. Service was great; delivery was friendly and on time. The food was tasty, with an atypical South Indian influence in its selection of appetizers and in the chef's style. This means the sauces, at least on the dishes we chose, were not the typical run-of-the-mill masalas you usually find from most Indian places in Maryland, which are most commonly run by Punjabis or others with a North Indian connection. So the South Indian flare here was much appreciated as a welcome, and very nicely done, change of pace. The chef also does not skimp on the spicy peppers, so be sure to ask for spicy only if you mean it. We will definitely order from them again soon. read more

Homely ambience and the food was phenomenal. The dosa reminded me of the dosa back home and the sambar and chutney was perfectly made. The samosa chat was crispy yet soft and had the perfect balance of sweet and spice. Lamb vindaloo was succulent and the icing on the cake was the piping hot jalebi. UPDATE: I received a call the next day from the restaurant, apologizing for the snafu the night before. He offered us a a free meal for the whole value of what we spent, which was very kind of him. When I picked it up, he even threw in a mango lassi for free. Dinner was fine, chicken wasn't as overcooked and dry as it was that Friday night. I'll likely give them another chance because he gave a sincere apology. Original review: The first time we ordered was takeout, and the food was fine. Nothing wrong with it, but also not mind-blowing. This time we decided to have it delivered. The confirmation email said 60 minutes. I called twice, at 1 1/2 hours and was told that several orders came in at once, and the driver was delivering them one at a time. I called again at 2 hours and was told that he was on his way. It's now been 2 1/2 hours and the delivery person called because he can't find us. (When ordering, it allows you to mark where you are exactly on a map, so I did, but he doesn't appear to have looked at that.) There are a lot of Indian restaurants in this area so I don't think I'll be ordering from here again. read more

Despite bad experience the previous time for take out, I wanted to give a second chance. And I was NOT disappointed ! We had to order food for a small gathering and Pandey the manager guided us in deciding the menu and quoted us a reasonable price. The taste and spice level was top notch. My family and I were hosting a gathering of friends today and it was decided that everyone was burnt out on 4th of July food. So, I suggested Indian food from a restaurant my wife and I had been looking forward to dining at in the near future. That restaurant was Spice N Curry. From the moment I entered, the courteous staff made every effort to fully explain their menu and the various ingredients used in their many delicious dishes. I explained to the staff our need for a good sampling of their menu that could give everyone a hint of the wonders that await them and they did not disappoint. The order was prepared, packaged, and ready to go in a reasonable amount of time for the size of the order. Upon arrival back home, the food was set out and devoured in a short time with the general consensus being that they would all look forward to dining at Spice N Curry in the future. Great new restaurant in Columbia/Elkridge area and amazing good food. I have been here few times with friends and family. Restaurant is clean and nice. Very reasonable prices comparatively to other Indian restaurants in that area. Weekdays they have "Thali" special for lunch which is unique to this restaurant. The Sambhar, tomato and coconut chutneys that they served us last week with Idly and dosa was horrible..the coconut tasted like freeze thawed serving. The Bhatura was broken and swamped with oil, but they still have the nerve to serve it on the plate, inverted it to hide the flowing oil. Guthi vengaya was giving a raw red chilli and thania flavour..few other items were so just oily and greasy, and lacking authentic taste....Also not sure, if they use fresh cut vegetables or frozen imports....Honestly, I wanted to offer help to make some good sambhar and chutney. I am also so astonished to see so many positive reviews. Everytime I get so disappointed and I feel, I wasted of my money. The guys who run are kind, humble and good to speak with. So I've been going around trying Indian places around the area with my girlfriend. I found a groupon for this place so we went ahead and tried it. At first I waited a while just to get the menu, and when the waiter brought out our water, it was warm with no ice. Was starting to regret my decision. But finally we got the menu. To be consistent we always get samosas, chicken Tika masala, and Naan. We also get one extra dish that sounds good. First off the samosas had a great smell when I got into it with my fork. The taste was good and maybe the best one I've had yet. Next the main dishes came out. The chicken Tika marsala was very good, not my favorite but still good. We also ordered chicken vindaloo cause it sounded good. First bite the splices and flavors were fantastic. After I kept eating it I realized how spicy it actually was. I was warned by the waiter though haha. We also ordered this bread that came with some chickpea topping which was great. The bread tasted like a fried egg roll wrapper (not a bad thing) but the chickpea toppings just made me go back for more. The Naan was nice and buttery, but a little too dense for my liking. Would definitely come back to this place. Give it a try if you're in the area. read more

Delicious. Had the chicken tikka masala, a dish I regularly get at Indian restaurants.. And wow I was simply blown away. Best tikka masala I ever had. Also got the gongura curry with goat which we were told is only served during the summer time which was equally as excellent. Service was excellent too and they were extremely friendly. Prices don't do any justice to the quality of the food. We ordered several items which didn't cost us much at all but the quality was worth much more in my opinion. Delicious! I ordered the okra vegetable curry, naan, and samosas. Best samosas I've had (although I'm no expert on Indian cuisine).
