Everything was fine but I had a weird encounter I want to share in case others have also encountered this. Upon entry, I told the lady at the receptionist desk that I was dining solo indoors. She told me they were short on staff and had to order and pay with her before seating. First time dining here and didn't know how busy it was since the dining area was on the other side of the wall. Fine... no problem. Upon sitting, I noticed there were only two other tables and most of the tables were empty. There appeared to be two male servers tending to the dining area.. Food and coffee came out in good time and the server who delivered it was friendly. After I sat and paid, I saw three other tables who came and were sat - all receiving normal table service. (I.e waiter taking orders, pay at the end.) I don't want to assume anything but would suggest the restaurant look at their practices and either exercise them across all patrons to avoid causing anyone to feel singled out... Food and coffee were good.

Our waiter, Fernando, was fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The menu is HUGE, probably the most extensive diner menu I've ever seen, and the best part is that you can order anything on it -- breakfast, lunch, or dinner -- anytime from open to close. The restaurant itself is gigantic, but somehow incredibly efficient. We were seated immediately, and our food came out in less than 10 minutes. I asked Fernando how they manage it, and he told us they have around 25 cooks working in the kitchen, plus another large team keeping everything moving. You can tell this place is a well-oiled machine. We ordered the pumpkin pancakes, and they were hands-down the best pumpkin pancakes I've ever had. And the fried chicken? I genuinely don't think I've ever had fried chicken that tasted that good in my life. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely perfect. Huge menu, amazing food, great service, and unbelievably fast considering how busy and massive the restaurant is. Tops Diner absolutely lived up to the hype. We will 100% be back!

The portions are always great -- big, expect to take some food home unless you come hungry and have a big appetite! Our fave app is the general tso cauliflower, perfectly crisp and saucy. My child's fave is the George's Special. I love to try the specials, this time I tried the pork belly Benedict and OMG it was delicious, whoever invented and cooked it deserves a raise. A great portion and cut of pork belly, on top of their buttery biscuit, yummy poached eggs with a drizzle of chili oil that really sent this to the next level and crispy onions to top it all off. It came with breakfast potatoes but I think a side salad would also component this decadent meal nicely, too. Service is usually good. Ambience is pretty loud with music and chatter but my baby slept right through it. Entrance is stroller friendly which is great. The booths are car seat friendly too if you don't want to bring in the stroller.

The food looks absolutely delightful and the reviews support how amazing the taste is! To the person who commented about the pride sticker and not being able to support this business because they support people like me... maybe consider grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting with someone who may be different than yourself. Some great discussions can be had over a good ole cup of coffee. You might learn something. I recommend a single shot of expresso and one of the mouthwatering sandwiches on brioche. It's a very small homey like cafe where the few that were there seemed to have built a community. My mom and I came on a whim before a hike to the waterfall at Hemlock Falls at South Mountain Reservation. I ordered the avocado toast which had cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds, crumbled feta and sriracha. While it wasn't overboard on the spice, if you are sensitive I would choose something else. My mom had the egg platter which came with scrambled eggs, bacon (turkey or pork) she had turkey bacon, white toast and the best seasoned sweet potatoes she's had. We also both had coffee she had a caramel latte and I had a white mocha, which were ok. The food was good but it was on the pricey side. It's a great spot if you are local otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to travel here.

I had to make adjustments to the time and amount of ppl to the reservation and she was very accommodating. We had an early dinner reservation elsewhere, so we didn't intend to eat there, but they started us off with menus, instead of flowers. So we just ordered a mocktail tower and some of their lemon pepper chicken to nosh on. The drinks were a bit too sweet for us, but cute presentation, and the chicken was good. Then they brought out the "purse" vases and flowers. Justice was our server and flower instructor, and he did a great job in the duel role. We were all impressed with his floral knowledge and we all learned something new. The bathroom was clean this time, had tp and soap in the dispenser. The cute decor was the same except for the lil selfie booth which looked to have been updated for Vday and still up. Next door is their event space with lots of different selfie stations for a fee. I really enjoyed this 2nd visit and would return.

I really liked that the berries on the craffle were actually fresh and that they gave a chocolate ganache as topping instead of syrup for the craffle. I loved the Mac and cheese, it has great flavor. My friend enjoyed her rasta pasta as well. The food seems to be really solid. Only cons I have is that it is pretty small inside so I wouldn't come with a large party and parking can be a little bit of a hassle. FYI there are no alcoholic beverages served and tips are accepted in cash.

Nice black-owned spot with variety of vegan options and it is clean. There's space to dine-in and they are open on Sundays. The energy is also open enough where strangers will have a convo while waiting. Coming from Brooklyn, I'm happy to have this spot so close to where I am now. Savory: My go-to is the chickpea tuna sandwich. I've tried it on a roll, long sub, and gluten-free... highly recommend the long sub. It's way too messy on the roll for me. Typically get it with the works. The potato salad is also very good most of the time (sometimes the potatoes are a little undercooked). I've also had the macaroni salad and the fried mushroom sandwich which are also good. I definitely enjoyed the thanksgiving special with stuffing (highly recommend that if they bring it back this year). Tip: if ordering a hero and you don't see yourself eating the entire thing in one sitting, I recommend requesting for the sandwich to not be cut so you can cut it evenly on your own For baked goods: the peach cobbler is good and it comes in a cute cup with a little spoon. I've also had the lemon cake & rum cake. Would order all 3 again. Would love to see donuts or cinnamon rolls (hopefully without cashews or walnuts due to my allergy). DRINKS: I haven't had a drink there that I would get again. The teas are overwhelmingly sweet; hibiscus punch was a lot like kool-aid to me. I also don't recommend the matcha if you are a matcha snob. Harper's Cafe is a great black-owned spot for a consistently good latte and they use quality matcha if you want quality nearby. Great spot with lots of options, especially if you're looking for a black-owned spot to support.
