Lovely spot!! The set up is a little more casual than a typical restaurant--you sit down wherever you want, order at the front, and a server bring/ your order to you. It was very clean and fresh inside and everyone was friendly. I tried shakshuka for the first time, and I loved it! It wasn't too heavy, and the sauce was super flavorful sauce. I enjoyed seeing all of the mediterranean-inspired options they had on the menu. I also ordered a plain iced latte which was great! The espresso was very smooth. I love love love this spot. Nice ambiance, the pink & green is welcoming and eye-catching. The staff is top tier and I love that everyone is wearing Jackie & Sons garb. My most consistent go-to is the Matcha Latte with Rosewater Simple Syrup. Sometimes you can actually taste the rose and it complements the matcha nicely. One thing I will say for the women, if you are into cycle syncing, there are so many options here for us. Fave foods to order are the cauliflower pita & lentil soup. The salad is quite filling and fresh. Actually all of their food is fresh. I like the falafel bowl although it can be a little dry. I typically drizzle olive oil on it. The tahini is good, but it's only enough for the falafels. The falafels are good as well; authentically flavorful. Def try the meze options. I've never ordered something and didn't get it a second or third time. I eat predominantly vegan and this spot gives me options galore like I'm back in NYC. Amazing for dine-in and the best at bagging your takeout/delivery. Stapling the liquids inside a smaller bag to stay in place in the larger bag? The most thoughtful packing I've come across honestly. Menu is a diverse one that contains all of best things and some combinations that i would have never thought of ordering. The service is attentive and efficient. The water table water bottles always replaced when they were mid level with a fresh cold one. The combination that was different to me was the beef scramble. Scrambled eggs on a bed of silky smooth humus with a garnish of microgreens and surrounded with quartered pita slices. I took one bite and this will be my breakfast every time I visit. Popped in here for lunch. Parking not ideal. Tables are first come first serve. Order and pay and then grab your number and find your table/seat. Staff is super friendly. This place seems out of place for the humility of a lot of Maplewood/South Orange businesses. Kind of felt like it should be in LA or something. Pretty people, overpriced menu, and lack of personality. I just couldn't justify the cost of a $6 lemonade that took almost 10min to prepare, plus tax and tip on top of it. And the busboys pushing their way past me without acknowledging my existence and practically running into me without a "pardon me". I hate leaving a negative review. i had this place saved for the longest time and i finally got to check it out for brunch when i was in the neighborhood. there was only street metered parking available when i went but luckily there was a free spot right in front of the store. i walked in and got my food to go. the staff was extremely friendly and efficient. i got the french toast and fresh juice. i was very impressed with the french toast - it was super crispy yet soft, super flavorful and paired well the syrup and cream + raspberries. i would come back just for the french toast itself. the juice was a bit tart but definitely fresh. i highly recommend this place for brunch/breakfast; i personally will be back to try out other items on their menu read more

A very nice chic looking establishment and great customer service from their workers. I had the tuna platter salad and mint lemonade + rosewater. For the price this was a big portion, fresh ingredients, they didn't shy away from the tuna and it left me satisfied after eating it. As for the lemonade, it was very sour and I absolutely love me a sour lemonade so I highly recommend that drink if you love sourness like me. Will be coming back here for sure. 5 stars! read more

We ordered French Toast, a side of bacon, two eggs, and a raspberry lemon scone. The portions are plentiful. I wasn't expecting a side of bacon to be a bowl full of bacon (yes!!!). And the amount of whipped cream, wow!!! Everything was delicious. We also ordered the Very Berry smoothie. It wasn't our favorite, but it did not ruin what was an excellent meal. We came here on a Saturday around 12p and the place was PACKED!!! The place is very small for the amount of traffic they get but we managed to grab a table outside. The way to order is very chaotic to me. You sit down & a server is SUPPOSED to bring you a menu. After you figure out what you want, you are to go get in line at the register and order your food & pay for it. The cashier will then give you a flag that has your order number on it and when it is ready, a server will attempt to find the table w. the number that matches the food(so they pretty much have to run around playing Where's Waldo). A server never came with a menu so I had to walk inside to get them. When I go to order our food the line is basically out the door and again the place is so tight & small that everybody is standing on top of each other. It took about 25 mins for our food to come. The food wasn't hot but a level under hot but nothing to complain about. Now let me say this: the food was REALLY GOOD! I don't really have any complaints about the food other than I would have preferred hard scrambled eggs(they come soft scrambled) AND I got ONE sausage round for $6 or $7(that's too much for one!) and it wasn't good, it was kind of mushy. The smoothies are good as well, though expensive about $15 each, but they could use a little sugar to sweeten them up a little bit, but again still really good. You can tell they are using quality and fresh ingredients! The inside is so loud though, you can barely hear. They really do need to get a bigger spot & change their ordering system around or at the very least a bigger spot and hire more workers. Overall I would come back but ONLY on like a random EARLY morning Tuesday when it is relatively empty! read more

Great food, service, and atmosphere! I ordered blueberry pancakes and enjoyed them. They were thick, light and fluffy with loads of blueberries. It came with a side of maple syrup. They must have added butter or something to the syrup because in the beginning the syrup tasted of nothing. So if you get the pancakes make sure to stir the syrup first. You order at the counter, pay and are given a number so they can deliver your food to the table. Everyone was welcoming, and the service was excellent. They had plenty of staff, which is a rarity these days. The food did not come out immediately, which is a good thing. It means it's made to order. All the salads and entrées coming out looked excellent and the baked goods were fabulous looking. I got an iced tea to go, and it was phenomenal! They had a sidebar with syrups and sugar. That was a nice touch. A metered municipal parking lot is next door. I'll be back. read more

One of the workers called me a B!tch. I was standing waiting for my coffee and she was carrying a box. As i feel poorly that she was carrying something i didn't see her as she was behind me. instead of saying excuse me my boyfriend tells me she's behind me so i move and say i'm sorry! she mutters under her breath "f*ing b!tch". We loved this coffee shop before this issue and very rarely do I ever complain about anything but i am truly appalled at this as it was incredibly disrespectful and rude. I'm disgusted. The coffee and food is great here so it's such a shame that they have employees that would act in such a way. She has short hair with the sides shaved and the rest is blonde. I'm not a tea person, but Nana Tea with Mint was great; Added a splash of their Earl gray house syrup and it was quite a soothing taste. The meal was delicious. The eggs were nicely cooked; not overdone or overcooked. Perfectly runny and flavorful (I didn't have to add salt or pepper). The star of the meal was really the za'atar labneh. That was exquisite, flavorful, fun. As for bakery items: ordered the lemon blueberry, raspberry lemon scone and a halva brownie to take home. They remained fresh after several hours. And they were still flavorful, moist, and delicious. The halva brownie complimented each other so well. My only gripe was the pita bread; they were a bit chewy and hard; unsure if they were a tad stale but adding the food items helped out. read more
