V poor service. The person taking our order was extremely arrogant and hardly cared for our needs. Simple requests for changing our seat were denied on false pretext. We were given rude looks and were made to feel out of place. Food is overrated and ingredients seemed stale. It might have been compensated by a good service. Ok so went here on a whim, Hubby wanted Chinese and I wanted something different. Was so impressed the food was the bomb! I have passed this place countless times thinking how can you have 3 such cultural foods mixed into 1 restaurant? Well they pulled it off. The decor is really nice you would never know it was a Wendy's prior the colors are warm and inviting like you are in a India restaurant. We Started dinner with drinks Hubby had a a Tai Mai ( yes it's backwards) I had a Ginger Martini. The drinks where large and so good Kudos to the bartender he knows how make great drinks! For Appetizers I had the tandoori vegetables which included broccoli, cauliflower, peppers,onion, mushrooms, toossd in yogurt and spices and baked to perfection it was served with a cilantro and garlic lime sauce and also a red sauce that I forgot to ask what it was but it was suburb! Hubby Had jumbo Shrimp in spices each shrimp was cooked to perfection and spices galore your palate would thank you. For Dinner hubby again choose another Shrimp dish he had Shrimp Masala from the India section of the menu. It was served with long grain rice on the side. Again cooked to perfection the red sauce was a mix of tomato base with a very slight hint of curry and we believe a bit of bay leaf flavor but subtle. I chose a Thai dish That was Shrimp in coconut milk and curry and a bit of spice with vegetables and long grain rice everything was spot on! There was no room for dessert to say the least however the menu did include choices from all regions. The menu is broken down in sections for each type of cusine and lists ingredients so you know what's in it. There are many meet choices like lamb, goat, chicken etc. And also vegetarian choices. The wait staff is wonderful no rushing you thru dinner they explain any questions about the food or was by far one of the best places I have been to in a long time in this area! The food was delicious - Came for the long weekend and had their food all 3 nights of the stay. I just couldn't resist. Be it take-away or eat in. They have a bar too. While you are on their waiting list in crowded times, you can chill at their bar and have a drink. The staff is welcoming and take good care. Friends ate their Indo chinese and loved it. You get 1-star for being opened on Christmas Day and that's all you deserve. My boyfriend and I sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes waiting for a table for 2 (we were the only ones waiting after some guy in a rose-colored shirt seated the family of 5 that came before us and started taking their orders). A second guy came to drop down take out bags by the waiting area where nobody attended. He asked if we were waiting for take out and we said no, we've been waiting for a table of 2 (but did consider take out at this point). A third guy just walked by and smiled. A lady then comes in to be seated for a table of 7 and guess what? YES, she get seated immediately. What the hell?! Your restaurant was not packed and I saw multiple tables for 2. You can't even use short-staffed as an excuse because at least 3 workers saw us waiting but this lady that came after gets priority. My boyfriend and I stood up to see why we were ignored but some worker just pointed at us to rose-colored shirt guy. You acknowledged our existence but didn't come to check in on us or explain why we were being ignored?! read more

Never had Indian food before and had their chickin tikka masala. It was really good. Everything was super fresh an the dish was not crazy hot. I would go back in a heartbeat. There was some layers of flavor going on that I was not familiar with but they were much welcomed, almost aromatic. Great place and the staff was super helpful. We decided to stop by this place on our way back home from Kalahari resort. Going to this place is a huge mistake!!! We ordered drums of heaven, butter chicken, Chicken biryani, chicken Manchurian and vegetable fried rice. The only decent tasting food were the drums of heaven. The biryani tasted like it was old and reheated. When we complained to the manager/owner he was extremely rude and argued with us. He told us that we were wrong and that's how a biryani should taste like. Well guess what he can have the biryani his way because we are not coming back here!!! read more

After I posted the review, the owner of the restaurant got in touch with me and apologized for the service I had received. I really appreciate his concern and really showed how much he cares about his customers. Maybe I was in the right place at the right time but this place was AMAZING. We went for dinner on Mother's Day and not only was someone kind enough to hold the door but wished me a happy Mother's Day as soon as we arrived- the place was also decorated with balloons and the staff were very accommodating. We ordered the lamb pepper fry and naan bread as an appetizer and the lamb has since joined my list of all time favorite foods it was AMAZING. My husband ordered chicken teriyaki and I ordered chicken tikka masala. Everything was on point and the portions were very good. So many different types of dishes to choose from. We're definitely coming back soon. I went with my two young children, one of which ended up dancing to the music playing, and was given a couple of lollipops by one of the friendly staff members, who was so patient with me as I kept changing my to-go order and adding on more things as well as honoring my coupon so last minute. You will be surprised when you walk in - It transports you from the Poconos to somewhere exotic. The food is completely AMAZING! Delicious! We love Indian food and was very excited when we heard about this place. The selection for restaurants in the area isn't very diverse, so we were pleased when Spice Route exceeded our expectations. We ordered all Indian food, was spicy but not over bearing (we do like some heat to our food). Also tried the lychee martini. The food was all very good. But be warned the spice level is quite a bit higher than what most American Indian restaurants serve and the menu doesn't warn you of the spice level. First i entered and i saw beautiful, clean, spacious place and friendly staff . I really impress with the cleanliness of that place . They have high chair for baby and diaper station too. Restroom is really big and clean. Now it's turn to talk about the food. We were six people altogether and we have ordered garlic nan, fish chilly , mix grill, gobi manchurian, drum's of heaven , katti roll,duck chilly, goat curry , garlic nan. We went to heaven . There is not even a single thing to complain about the food.My bad i forgot to take picture to upload in yelp , i was so hungry i forgot to take picture. God bless to chef who have cooked this delicious food. The owner of that place is really friendly , he was taking care of each customer . My 10 month's old baby was with me and i asked them hot water to make warm baby food they gave us whatever i asked with beautiful smile. The price range is not that high either. The chicken in my Penang curry was slightly dry (though the sauce was tasty) and the fried dumplings were just okay, but dishes were otherwise very good. I went in for dinner with my girlfriend. I had heard the place was overpriced but wanted to give them a try. I was very disappointed. The exterior of the building still screemed pizza hut and the interior was not up to a standard that warented the prices they were charging. The waiter although was polite, was hard to understand. The menu was not totally available to order from and my crispy lamb left a lot to be desired. My date had a shrimp dish and received 6 shrimp for 16.00. Not a good value.
