First time trying shah's and i was not disappointed. I ordered the beef, lamb, chicken combo over rice with all the sauces and when i walked in the door i was greeted by my brother from another mother with a happy, smiling face. The platter was stuffed so the lid barely fit. The textures were smooth, the spice was just right, (i like heat) and the white sauce was so delicious mixed in with the dish. I have totally found a substitute for chinese takeout and shah's will be my go to. We had Shah's last night and as usual, it did not disappoint. I have a family of five so no restaurant is truly cheap for us, but I must say for the amount of food and quality you get here, the price is not bad. I got five platters, some pita, a side of hummus, a bottle of Coca-Cola, and some baklava. The total came to right around $80. I got three chicken and two combination lamb and chicken platters. The chicken is moist and tender and always delicious. The lamb well not my favorite, is also tender and flavorful. We always get it with onions and peppers, black beans, the cucumber, onion, tomato, medley, chickpeas, hummus, and white sauce. The vegetables are always fresh, and the combination of the flavors is on point. Sometimes I find their little light handed, but they're always willing to add a little more to get you where you wanna be. I've never had an issue with the staff, they are always happy and accommodating. The seating area is always clean and there are several tables so space is never really an issue. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be that some of the dishes require cooking in the back, and those can take a long while if you order them. Items such as the burgers, and chicken nuggets, are definitely pre-frozen and almost assuredly meant for children. Stick with what they do and you'll be absolutely happy. read more

I ordered a falafel gyro. Unfortunately, the falafel was not authentic. The sauce that was served with it, Tzatziki, is not the traditional Tahini sauce which is what is traditionally paired with falafel. I was disappointed. The server misunderstood my order because he gave me a falafel plate. When he held up the container with 3 small falafel discs atop of a bed of rice. He asked me what toppings I wanted. I was totally surprised because I did not order a falafel plate. The server behind the counter who I gave my order to insisted I did. The gyro was not tasty. The fries were delicious though.,The restaurant had no ambiance, and it was rather cold and uninviting. I will not go back there and as far as recommending this place, I can't. I went to the location in mount pocono. I asked for a plate and when it got to the hummus I saw a long hair while the worker was assembling my food, I kindly mentioned that there is a long hair in my hummus. He put that plate aside and started working on a new one which I was okay with. I paid for my food and drink and left. Came home to more hair blended in my rice. I never write reviews and I always eat at Shah's, this can pose a potential health risk to consumers. If it's not hair it can be something else like a fingernail. read more

Called the store ' and I got a " what do you want us to do about it ?" Response . I was looking for a Middle Eastern place to grab a gyro and my friends came across this place. I remembered I had eaten at one of these locations in Jersey, so I decided we'd give it a shot. I ordered a hamburger and the lamb gyro - the gyro was so good, I took a lamb platter home with me. I also got the baklava, which was descent. Friendly environment and the manager was very helpful. First of all, I was super grateful that I found a place open late at night AND it was halal. The vibe was chill, it was pretty packed which was a good sign. I ordered a chicken over rice and a Kofta over rice. The kofta was a little rubbery, its made from chicken,they don't serve beef or lamb here. The chicken over rice was delicious tho, and seasoned! I love when the basmati rice has the tiny cumin seeds. You choose your toppings, I chose the basic salad, tomato, cucumber, and it's served with a tiny scoop of hummus. I also ordered a side of hummus and pita, I thought it would come in a lil container to share, like it's usually served.. but here it's just a scoop of hummus on pita and rolled up like a taquito. This is up there if not better with the other big halal spots like halal guys and juicy platters. I got the lamb platter and chicken platter for my wife. the food was delicious! the falafels were a little hard though. i got the chicken and lamb over rice and it was so good. do not let the sauces intimidate you because they are SO good. i haven't sat in the restaurant but i did order takeout and when i got there the staff didn't seem too welcoming or friendly, but it was also the end of the night so they might've been tired. it's not a fancy restaurant by any means, it almost looks like a fast food place. not bad though love the food read more
