Oriental Pearl is hands down the best Vietnamese food in the area. I've come here for years and the quality has always been premium. Dining in is always a great experience, very relaxed and chill ambiance and the service is always kind and prompt. My go to orders rotate between the combination meat Pho and the shrimp Pho. For appetizers, I always get the Vietnamese spring roll (they have the best spring rolls in the area) and the summer rolls. I've tried their vermicelli dishes and they're always good too. They also have the best shrimp papaya salad. Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant enough if you love Vietnamese cuisine. Just prime. read more

pho could've been in a bowl so it can stay hot. but the broth didn't stay hot even after I warmed it up, shrimp still had poop in it ( $4 extra) chicken to thick and just a $20 meal all around even tho I paid $33. Vietnamese rolls was ok, and the bbq pork wouldn't recommend. Onions to big and thick too like a said needed the broth on a bowl so it could be cooking the food, it was Not terrible but not worth the price at all. read more

Poor customer service. The food prepared was not as what was ordered. THEY DO NOT READ SPECIAL DIRECTIONS even after a phone call and they told us to enter our requests in the special directions. When we got home the Curry seafood easy asked to have no crab. The rubber-like crab was NOT REMOVED. That was $18.95. The pho was ordered with grilled chicken, we got dry, poached whit chicken, NOT what we ordered. That was &12.95. We immediately called them and they gave us a $10 coupon. So my meal was $31.90 and they offer a pitiful $10, so we pay $21.90 for their mistake. We have been customers for over 10 years and they have made numeral mistakes but it seems only to get worse. If you care about yourself at all, come here. This is the greatest bowl of pho I've ever had in my life, so much so that I've been making it a habit to come once a week (yes it's that good). The noodles are perfectly chewy, the meat is so tender and seasoned, and the broth ? Just get here. The service is always excellent and I've never had a problem. I've been here enough times, at last I'm leaving my five-star review. Not just good pho for the area--it's really good pho period, and way better than anything available in Wilmington right now. You can always judge pho by the freshness of the herbs and bean sprouts you get with them--I've never had anything but crisp, fresh ones st Oriental Pearl. Not naming the places in Delaware that consistently give brown, squishy sprouts, but who needs em? Non-pho items are also dependable, including giant servings of Thai stir fries and fresh bún salads. Appetizers are uniformly good. Sate chicken is delicious even though the portion is smaller than it ought to be Service is always friendly and prompt, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable even if the decor isn't the most up to date. My dad, son and I were in Chester for a Union party. On our way back home to Delaware we were craving Thai or Vietnamese. It was 9pm and almost everything I Googled was about to close and I didn't want to drive to philly in opposite direction. This place popped up closing at 10 so I decided to call (I hate being THAT customer who orders at closing). The lady said they stop at 9:40 and asked how long I'd be to get there- told her 10 mins n I hit the gas! Very easy to get to, about 3 mins off 95S! Pulled up and she instantly seated and served us. We ordered steak pho, fried spring rolls and my son got wings. The food was plentiful and delicious! What made me give 5 stars was the service!!! Not only were they not upset we came last minute, but the lady chatted up with us, asked us questions, was very sweet to my son all with a smile on her face. While we ate, the chef (not sure if owner) came to our table and checked on us and he was just as nice!! It hit 9:45 so we scurried to pack up n takeout our remaining food. They never rushed us at all and even packed it up for us. Finding a spot with BOTH Vietnamese and Thai was a blessing all in itself. I was disappointed this visit by the shrimp paste wrapped in sugarcane. I've never ordered it here, but have had it at other area restaurants. It literally looked and tasted like the sponge coating you get on a corndog. A literal small ball of corn dog batter on a flattened 3" piece of sugarcane. I believe it was $7.99. Honestly, the only acceptable part of this dish was the standard vinegary dip. The peanut sauce that came with the summer roll had an odd thick texture, so I just used the vinegar for that too. read more

I've been going here for months, but today was my last day stepping foot into the restaurant. I was enjoying my pho until a roach crawled on the table and onto the condiments. The waitress seemed very nonchalant about the situation which was a little alarming, and made me believe they have the same issue going on in the kitchen. Overall, I thought this place was pretty good. My husband didn't think the broth in his pho was as flavorful as some others that he's tried, but the rice vermicelli with BBQ pork that I had was quite good and definitely up to par as others I've had. Also, I don't typically enjoy spring rolls but this one was really good - nice and crispy and not too greasy, filled with ground pork (I think) and veggies. The service was good, but we were really the only ones in there except for two tables that finished eating as we arrived and another that showed up as we were leaving. We were in the middle of a heat wave when we were there and it was obvious that their AC was having trouble keeping up. It probably would have been too hot in there for some people, but it wasn't uncomfortable to us. I felt the price was right too. I'm sure we'll head back there again sometime. read more

I would never discover this place and from the outside appearance, it didn't look very appealing as it's located nearby other shops, I think like nail salons... I order broken rice with grilled pork chop, meat patty and shredded pork, fried egg, and pickled carrots and veggies. It was yummy! The service was nice. This place has the best Phò broth in the North Wilmington / Chichester area. I have been several times to eat in and take out. I haven't had a bad experience yet. The staff is super friendly. Some of the food we've tried (and go back for over and over) - Phò Tai(that broth yum!), bbq pork buns, fried dumplings(perfectly fried with thin skins), spring rolls, summer rolls, broken rice dishes. Finally we stumbled into Oriental Pearl Restaurant and have been in love ever since! The restaurant is located in a little plaza near a CVS and other shops and share a parking lot. Depending on the days/nights that are busier, you may have to park a bit farther but you'll have a parking spot nonetheless. As soon as you walk in you can expect to be greeted with a friendly, smiling face. You will be seated with menu's to review and your order will be taken shortly. We always order Pho. But their spring rolls and wings are also good to. The food never takes long to come out. You can tell it is prepared fresh when ordered. And it's always very, very good. This place advertises its mission for delivering quality food at reasonable prices. I found that they turn over tables fairly quickly here so it seems to have a good stream of traffic despite being in a fairly quiet location. The Vietnamese coffee wasn't as strong as I have liked it and there seemed to have been some granulated sugar added as I had some undissolved sugar at the bottom of my glass. The summer rolls had a ton of lettuce in them and very little pork or shrimp in it. There were exactly two shrimp in each summer roll and both shrimp were cut in half. No mint leaves, chives or bean sprouts were added. The dipping sauce was standard. The fried pork dumplings were good. As for the entree, No 48, the charbroiled pork was nicely seasoned with full of flavors including lemongrass, and the shredded pork and omelet was standard but the omelet was a little less than half the portion size I get in South Philly for the same price entree. Having such good Vietnamese food so close to home warms my heart. And it's not "good Vietnamese food for DelCo," it's good Vietnamese food *period.* I'm kind of a one-trick pony and I get the same thing whenever I go to a Vietnamese place... I always get an order of BBQ pork summer rolls as an appetizer, a small pho tai (that's beef soup with just the flank steak) as my entree, a ca phe sua nong (hot coffee with condensed milk) as a tasty beverage. All of this is easily less than $20. My boyfriend tends to mix it up more than me, where he'd like like often grabbing one of the specials and and he's never been disappointed. I've been to everywhere pho is offered in Chester and Delaware Counties, many places in South Philly, some places in Chinatown and a few places in Delaware. I haven't actually been there for a while- it's not that close to my house anymore and during the COVID restrictions, I rarely went out to a restaurant at all. Yesterday I went for an early dinner and it was just as good as I remember it. My boyfriend and shared a plate of fried Japanese dumplings and we each got the pho with rare steak. So delicious. The broken rice dishes are also good. Honestly, I've never had anything from the Chinese side of the menu- I'm too focused on pho! . But I'm sure it would be good, too. The service is fast and friendly. The place is clean. The food is delicious. The price is very reasonable. With a $6 tip, our meal cost $33. Picked up today due to Covid. Orienral Pearl has always been a favorite but I forgot just how much I enjoy it. Today was an awesome reminder. We ordered the Vietnamese Dumpling soup, pork tacos, summer rolls and vermicelli bowls. Everything was super fresh and delicious!!!! They didn't skimp on serving size and even with us hitting the food hard, we still have plenty of leftovers. I especially appreciated how generous they were with all the standard Vietnamese condiments (fish sauce, bean sprouts, lime wedges, jalapeños and peanut sauce.
