Their food here was okay. We just ordered 2 dishes with white rice. The sea food one was an okay one. The sauce it came with was just a standard garlic stir fry. The egg plant fish has a really good slightly spicy sauce. It would have been better if it was mixed in with some ground meat like moist other places. In my personal preference it was just a tad undercooked where the texture was more firm and less soft on how i like my heated egg plants. There was a weird old building smell in there which was not the most pleasant. But the staff was really great and i would like to come back and try the noodles.

We got takeout and it was so good we had to go back immediately to try more dishes. The pad Thai had a really good spice level. The chicken was good quality. The sauces were flavorful without being cloyingly sweet. Portions are decent and the prices are fantastic. I will be making this my go to Chinese/Thai takeout spot whenever I'm in the mood.

A nice little Chinese restaurant in the HEB strip mall on Wells Branch Parkway in Pflugerville. Very clean and bright. Arrived for lunch with the wife and was promptly greeted and seated. We ordered off the lunch menu. I opted for cashew chicken and the wife ordered sesame chicken. The orders did not arrive at the same time which is a pet piece if mine but not unusual in a Chinese restaurant. Served with egg drop soup. The sesame chicken was not what we expected- no vegetables, just balls of white meat sprinkled with sesame seeds. My cashew chicken was what I expected. The food was good. Still looking for a great Chinese restaurant in the Round Rock area.

Been meaning to check out the neighborhood Chinese spot. They recently updated/extended their hours til 9:30p. Very clean and quiet ambiance space. The manager, I think, was super friendly and helped us out when we were ordering takeout. It was kind of a slow night on Mon, so I hope their business picks up in the evening a little more. He said they recently extended their hours, so I wonder if folks are still getting used to it. We ordered about 3 entrees because we wanted to try everything - crab rangoon, spicy beef noodle, Singaporean noodles and orange chicken. Generous portions! The manager did mention the noodles are new to their menu and the spicy beef noodle didn't disappoint. Very homey soup and tender beef. The chicken in the orange chicken were nice large chunks. Very good price point for the portions. Gotta head back to try other dishes

This place is new and seems to be pretty popular! I see why. I've tried several dishes from them and each one was delicious! The prices are amazing too, I haven't seen anything over $15! Lunch specials start out at 8 bucks! The salt and pepper wings are a hit!! Wow they really nailed it, I dream about those wings lol! They've got a huge menu of traditional and chefs special dishes so there's something for everyone here! The serving sizes are plentiful too. Give em a try, you won't be disappointed!

Recently was in the mood for some classic chinese takeout and came across this new place on yelp! They only just opened recently so we wanted to check it out! Not gonna lie we were hesitant at first because we used to live about a block from here and most of the food we had in the area was less than impressive but the reviews looked promising! I am SO glad we took the chance. JJs was clean and very tastefully decorated, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. There was only one other party dining in when we came in and both our food and theirs came out very quickly! The food was soooo fresh and light it was unbelievable. My boyfriend just kept saying how fresh everything was and how pleasantly surprised he was. We both had water with lemon to drink and started out with some appetizers. We never get chinese without crab rangoons ($5.25), so of course we had to get an order of those! The rangoons were perfectly light and crisp and the filling was so smooth and a tad sweet, amazing! We also had the pot stickers ($6.95), you can choose fried or steamed and we opted for fried. These were nicely cooked and enjoyable, however, the sauce (i think it was ponzu) is a key part of the flavor so without that some might feel they're a bit bland. For our Entrees Kalif originally asked for the chicken Pad Thai and add shrimp but the server suggested he do the shrimp pad thai ($12.95) and add chicken (+$1.00) so he gets a better amount of shrimp. The pad thai was delicious! So flavorful and again somehow left us feeling so light despite bing a pasta dish. The veggies were well cooked and very flavorful. The shrimp seemed to be lightly breaded but it was very light, just helping it to hold onto some of that sauce and flavor a bit better. The pad thai could have EASILY fed 2-3 people. Kalif packed up a sizeable amount that he later ate for dinner and shared with me as well. For the price it couldn't be beat! I am a basic b*tch so I ordered the general tsos lunch plate ($9.75) with fried rice and the egg roll, though you can choose white rice and egg drop soup or sweet and sour soup for the same price i believe. The breading on the chicken was again very light and while there were only 5-6 peices of chicken on the plate they were massive, I ate only 2 before packing up for later. The flavor was really enjoyable, though it didnt seem like the usual general tsos flavor to me, but I would still recommend and order it again! Overall, we had 2 meals and 2 appetizers for $39.62 before tip and both ended up with enough left for a second meal! If you are in the wells branch area definitely check out JJ's Wok!!

I was craving Chinese fast food and searched for places near me. I'm glad I had JJ's Wok bookmarked for such occasion. I came in around 6 pm and there was one customer sitting in a booth. I walked up to the counter and ordered my food for dine-in. I ordered the crab rangoons, sesame chicken, and hot and sour soup. After ordering, I sat down at a booth and waited for my food to arrive. The restaurant manager came out with my food in a timely manner. I started in on the crab rangoons. It was crispy, not too sweet, and full of the cream cheese crab mixture. Then I had a sip of the hot and sour soup. It was decent, but I probably wouldn't order it again though. Last, I tried the sesame chicken. It was a pretty good sized portion. They lightly battered the chicken, but it remained crispy even with being drenched in sauce. The sauce, however, was a little salty for my taste. Would I come back? Sure, if I'm in the area and don't feel like driving into Austin for my Chinese food fix.

Pepper Steak sub peppers for broccoli

Noticed this place had great reviews, had to check it out ourselves. Starters were the salt and pepper wings with chili oil on the side, messy but tasty! Also a cup of egg drop soup that was good too, just missed the fried crisps and green onion to top off. Dinner was the pepper steak with fried rice (subbed peppers for broccoli), combination lo mein (subbed lo mein for Singapore rice noodles) and Lemon Chicken. Everything was amazingly delicious! Our server Loberto answered our questions and worked with the kitchen staff to accommodate our substitutions and requests! The ambiance and astehtic is cool, calm, welcoming and inviting. The color tones of the restaurant is definitely my type of vibe!

I've tried their food a few times via takeout, so I can't speak to the in-person service, but everything has been great so far. They definitely use better-quality ingredients compared to standard Chinese restaurants. I've been sticking to the lunch specials--the Kung Pao Chicken was excellent, and the China Town Stir Fry was also quite good. I did add some hot oil to both dishes to amp up the spice, which worked well for me. The Hot and Sour Soup and Egg Drop Soup were spot on too. I'll definitely continue exploring the rest of the menu.

The lemon chicken is what caught my eye and is the reason I drove 30 minutes from Elgin to this location. The lemon chicken dish comes with an order of rice on the side. The lemon chicken sauce was very tasty. The rice was missing from my my order and I was promised a credit for future use. I decided to come back to be able to use my credit and order another lemon chicken dish and to apply the credit from my missing half order from last time. They said the credit would be one dollar. I did explain to them that one dollar monetary value did not seem fair and they said ok $2 credit with hesitation. I support small business over a chain any day, but I do not believe that this was a mindful service for forgetting half of my meal and coming back to give it a second chance. I would say bad service unfortunately and not coming back.

This dish goes wayyy beyond heavy on the jalapeños, considering I ordered Thai basil chicken

The waitress checked on us several times. That said, I would not come back here. The noise level was horrendous. The constant scraping of metal chairs on concrete and the echo chamber the tall blank walls and bare metal ceiling causes was equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for the whole meal. Additionally , the music volume was SO high. I think someone went up to talk to them About the noise and the employee just looked like he didn't care , wouldn't look at her and just kept shrugging and making a "what can you do face". Hunger definitely gets humbled here. We came around lunchtime and caught what felt like the perfect balance of energy. Busy enough to get a feel for the restaurant without being overwhelmed, but by a little after 12, the crowd started pouring in, and the line nearly stretched out the door. That alone says a lot about how loved this place is on an ordinary day. I also appreciated the atmosphere -- it looked like parts of the space had been renovated (especially the tables), the warm wood tones made everything feel cozy and homey, and I loved the cultural wall and self-service stand. One thing I really enjoyed was seeing such a diverse crowd dining here; people from nearly every background packed the space, which felt like proof that genuinely good food knows no ethnic bounds. We started with the Crab & Pork Soup Dumplings, and wow -- these came out hot. Like, proceed-with-caution hot. But the flavor payoff was worth it. The broth inside was amazingly potent and flavorful enough that I genuinely didn't feel the need to dip them in sauce. The filling had this pleasantly crumbly texture in the best possible way, and the pork and crab felt incredibly well blended. An excellent starter choice. The Flavored Black Fungus w. Onions ended up being one of the most refreshing dishes on the table. Flavor-wise, it reminded me of Vietnamese gỏi -- bright, acidic, and refreshing. The red onions had been tempered through pickling, so they brought flavor without overwhelming sharpness, and the vinegar-and-oil dressing tied everything together beautifully. It's a smaller plate, but comfortably shareable between 2-3 people. The Hot Spicy Stew (Malatang) was honestly one of the most sensory dishes I've had in a while. The spice smacks the back of your throat the second you inhale it -- though "spicy" almost feels like the wrong word because it leans more tongue-numbing than heat-heavy. The Sichuan peppercorn usage here is fantastic. Super aromatic, deeply flavorful, and somehow every time my BF lifted the noodles, another wave of spices would hit the air and smack me in the face (in the best way possible). Between the bold colors, aroma, and flavor, this dish felt impactful from every angle. As someone who loves lamb, the Lamb Stewed Noodle Soup was probably my personal winner. It reminded me of a cleaner version of miso soup (which already tastes clean), but with an added lamb richness that made it so satisfying. The broth had this flavorful fattiness from the lamb that made me immediately think, "Yeah... I'm going to need 20k steps after this." Zero regrets. I would order this again in a heartbeat every single visit. The Suan Tsai Spicy Beef Rice Noodle was the accidental order, and unfortunately, my least favorite. My friend actually wanted the spicier beef noodle option above it and ended up nuking this bowl with chili oil, which he swore improved it a lot. For me, the sourness leaned unpleasant rather than balanced, and compared to the Malatang and Lamb Noodle Soup, the broth lacked the same richness and depth. Overall, Julie's Noodles absolutely delivers on comfort, flavor, portions, and value. Come hungry -- and maybe with friends, because these bowls do not play around.

This time it felt watered down, overly bulky from the vegetables, and the overall taste just did not resemble what I remember at all. It felt like a completely different recipe. On top of that, the restaurant was dead at lunch, which was surprising for this place. The inside layout and seating have also been changed, and the space feels less cozy and more awkward than before. The whole vibe is just different. The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot.
