We were handed the regular menu and the lunch special menu, even though by the time we arrived it was technically past the lunch special cutoff time. I noticed that there wasn't much of a price difference between the lunch special menu and the regular menu, and there also weren't many items to choose from the lunch special menu, so it was in our best interest to order from the regular menu. I went with the Pad Peth while my husband went with the tom yum noodle soup. We both went with a spice level of 2, since there was a literal warning on the wall telling people that they were not responsible for incorrectly ordering a spice level. I also ordered a Thai tea. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive, and we were starving. The portion sizes were appropriate for the price, and the flavors were absolutely on point for Thai food. I was honestly keeping my expectations low given that we were in Coos Bay, but I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and deliciousness of our food. I also loved that my Thai tea did not come mixed, because I love mixing my own Thai tea and watching the milk swirling through the tea. I've never had Pad Peth before, as I rarely see it on menus at other Thai restaurants, but it's definitely a dish that I would order again. My dish came with the perfect amount of rice as well. Winnie, the new owner/operator, is simply delightful. A personable, friendly person, who shows sincere interest in her clients. The atmosphere is a mix of old and new, making it calm and enjoyable. The food is made individually, with an option of Winnies homemade spices or no spices for the more delicate palate. Our order consisted of appetizers of Shrimp egg rolls, which were scrumptious. The main dish consisted of Pork noodles, Pad Thai and crab fried rice; each bring wonderful taste sensations. Looking forward to trying many other dishes in the future. The ambience is nice, some subtle music, but it can be a little tight with room, especially if it's full which typically you're looking at 3-4 tables of people. Overall it's great food. Only knocking it down a star because recently their soda machine broke or got removed and now it's limited to one soda when you're eating spicy food. Water is still great so we'll keep coming!
