Sometimes you can't trust reviews. I lived in Thailand and know what the food tastes like. What we ordered wasn't Thai food. The service here was great. No complaints there. The amount of food was over the top. The prawns were good. I'm not sure, but the cook might have been a different nationality than Thai. My main comment would be: If you're looking for a Thai meal don't go here. Drive on 16 miles and eat at a restaurant in Eugene or Springfield. read more

A perfect example of not judging a book by the cover. It's a small, family run place that might not look great, but the food (and service) is absolutely FANTASTIC! You can choose your spice level on any dish BUT fair warning: anything above "medium" is not for the faint of heart. I can handle a bit of heat, like habanero hot sauce, and "medium" will still clear my sinuses from the most stubborn of head colds. Great way to warm up if you stop by in the winter. read more

I will admit I was a little suspicious of the hole in the wall next to the "green pharmacy." However, the food was fantastic! The vegetables in the rice dish we're all fresh. The flavor was perfect. Was struggling to find a place for a quick dinner to go below Eugene and they were still opened. She's not the prettiest on the outside but my teriyaki chicken smelled and tasted wonderful and because it was close to closing the very nice man working there gave me a free Thai tea which was also good. If I had known they had avocado milk tea, I would've gotten that as well, I've never heard of it and it sounds super interesting! I stopped in not long ago for take out. The service was fast, and friendly, they deserve high stars for that. The pictures of the food, and the reviews are what got me in the door. The pictures look great, and from the reviews everyone raves about the food. So I went with kea mo, spring rolls, and a Thai iced tea. The kea mo honestly tasted like pad se yu. It could have even been it, but it was marked correctly on the box. It barely had any flavor until I got home, and added some. It was edible, but I can't say I would come running back for more in a hurry, and can't understand the 5 star reviews like they are unless I just came in on a bad day. Everyone seems to say they are consistent. The spring rolls were great. Not much you can do to mess those up unless you completely burn them. I really like the clear sweet, and sour sauce they use for the spring rolls. Their Thai iced tea was pretty good as well. Maybe I will try something else on the menu, and hopefully will see what others love so much about this place. Side note that I forgot to add in original review; when I got home, my guy took a few bites with out me saying my opinion, and he actually said what I was thinking to begin with, which was he thought my dish was pad se yu. He asked why I ordered pad se yu, he knows I don't generally get that dish. I told him it wasn't, and to look at the box, which was marked kea mo. read more

I have lived in Cottage Grove for several years but never had the chance to try this little place until about a month ago. It seemed like every time I would try they were closed and I think the Covid pandemic did not help the situation. Husband and I stopped in for dinner. The restaurant is small and unassuming. They run on a small staff and my understanding is it is a family. For being small though, the service was great. I ordered the milk tea with boba and the Tom Kha soup. The tea was good, super sweet though. As I have found with milk tea that really varies from place to place. The soup though....OMG! The soup was a masterpiece. The flavor was so deep and rich and tangy all at the same time. The chicken in the soup was so tender. The bowl was large and as much as I wanted to, I couldn't finish it. I had the salad rolls as an appetizer with their peanut sauce so that may have contributed to my downfall as they were awesome too. I am already plotting my next visit for the soup! read more

I have not found a Thai food place that I'm happy with, besides Sabai, and that's a fancy and popular date night thing. Chalerm was recommended by my co-worker and I got some takeout to bring home to Eugene. My husband loved it! (He hasn't approved of any Thai food besides Sabai and his own curry). We got take out tonight and I couldn't be more happy. My husband got Pad Thai and he loves it! I am so thankful that we can have Thai food in cottage grove. I ordered the drunken noodles. I am in love. I am going to have to make this a weekly thing. I am currently debating on going back and ordering a second helping because this is so fantastic!! The flavors are like nothing I have ever had and everything is so fresh! The restaurant had a nice calm atmosphere. The service was great! Had dinner at Chalerm last night. Wife had orange chicken, I had a seafood noodle dish, we shared some potstickers. All of it was very good. Friendly staff, & fast service. Been here a couple times and will be back again for sure. Took some friends for another visit. All four of us enjoyed our dinners. Got mine spicy& it was great. Want to try extra spicy next time! Stop by here on the way home from California. A Thai hole In the wall. Tiny space, shared building and bathrooms with Subway. They serve 1-4 stars so 4 star is equal to 5 star at other Thai restaurants. Just two guys working and there were 10 people ready to order all at one time. It took an 80 mito order, get food and eat. Which was okay since they only were a team of two. I had high hopes for our food when he brought two beautiful plates of food. Salad was good only had two tiny shrimp $12.95 it was the better of the two dishes. Lacking a few more shrimp and lime. The basil pork had a strange thick gravy which I've never had with this dish before. The beans and onions were over cooked. We ordered a side of peanut sauce in hope of doctoring it up, but the peanut sauce was mustard yellow and off in flavor from traditional peanut sauces. They did serve slices of watermelon for dessert. That was a nice touch. I'm sure there are other good dishes on the menu. read more

Don't be deterred by the appearance of this little gem. The food is absolutely phenomenal. The family who works there is welcoming and helpful. They were easily able to accommodate my gluten allergy as well as leaving out fish/oyster sauce, and the food was still tasty!! My husband had the garden delight with chicken, and I had the holy basil with tofu. I loved the fresh garlic in mine, and we both loved the sprinkling of sesame seeds on the rice which added a great nuttiness without overwhelming the dish. Sometimes a stir fry that sits awhile tends to have a pool of oil on your plate, at no point did that happen here. And if you're looking for spicy, order the 4 or very hot, they actually give it some heat that a lot of Thai places promise but never deliver. My husband had a 2, the medium spicy and it wasn't too spicy at all for him. A great lunch that makes us wish we lived closer! read more
