I tried here last night through slice, we ordered a couple subs, a wrap, a lasagna and a pizza. I'll start with the pizza, this was really good , perfect amount of sauce/cheese , cooked perfectly. the Buffalo chicken wrap was also very good. the philly cheese was not at all good, it was a hot roast beef sandwich, it was sliced deli meat topped with cheese, not chopped or shredded and not raw beef cooked, it was deli roast beef. the lasagna was ok, it was not what I was expecting, it literally was like built in the to go container. Gave Spiga a chance tonight based on stellar reviews on slicelife even though the yelp rating isn't good. I should have went with my gut instinct and gave this pizza place a hard pass as all the food was pretty bad. The meat lovers pizza was just ok, borderline not good. The sauce used in everything is not good. No idea what's wrong with it but the taste is so cheap tasting it's not even funny. The crust is tasteless and the toppings just ok. They put chicken on the pizza which is just dried up pieces. Leave the chicken off. The chicken marsala... I don't know WHAT this place was thinking. We received a smashed piece of chicken with some chopped up mushrooms sitting in a pool of straight up liquid. No marsala sauce to be found and no pasta. What was included was a bowl of pasta drowning in a bad tasting tomato sauce. Was this for the chicken marsala? Who knows. Either way it was all inedible. Mozz sticks were your standard mozz sticks. Nothing good or bad about them. The stromboli roll was ok but there was a piece of white, hard plastic in the dough which got stuck between my teeth. Quality control? Lastly, the calamari which was just poorly executed. The batter was WAY too thick. Couldn't taste the calamari at all. Not too mention the fact that it was so over cooked I couldn't believe they sent it out like that. Very disappointed is an understatement. Only ate a few pieces and then threw the whole thing out. I have the chicken marsala sitting in the fridge for tomorrow so I can make pasta for it but I think it's going to get thrown out and 3/4 of a medium meat pizza in the box that I'll probably throw out too. What a waste. Overall based on this experience tonight I won't be ordering from Spiga ever again. Just too horrible for second chances. Try to support local but not when local is THIS BAD. read more

This post is about their lunch special. 2 slices and a can of soda for $3 Ah yea its on!!!! I came in here to get some soup. And I got the soup too but they didn't give me a spoon to eat it with so no soup for you!!! Or should I say me? Anyway their slices are delicious. Little greasy but the sauce was incredible nice hint of garlic and a beautiful crust. If I'm ever in this town again I'm no doubt coming here. I absolutely loved my pizza and it came with a can of soda but I left with a bottle. So the owner was super nice and let it slide. Note to all of you. Come after 12pm if you are in a rush. I would have give a 5 But I don't know how the rest of the food esp my soup because no spoon and no napkins in fact I didn't even see straws. I ordered delivery. The shrimp scampi was so watered down and bland. There is no way that a real cook made this. Also, the bourbon shrimp was terrible, with no taste and also watered down. I'm afraid to even try the chocolate cake, but then again, it was probably made elsewhere so I'll be safe. At least the Sierra Mist was good. this place is under new management and currently under remodel, stopped in with my husband for lunch. Very friendly and family oriented. The owners are extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. We ordered a clam pizza , and the taste was amazing. Quality ingredients at its finest. Very well prepared. They also brought out some buffallo chicken wings, to try. Which my husband said were very delicious. I can hear others in the restaurant saying how the pasta is really good. So I may try it next time in the area. Zero stars. I don't bother doing many reviews, but this food was awful. Pretty sure every ingredient on the pizza (ordered peppers and meatball) was frozen including the crust. It tasted like microwaved cardboard and plastic cheese. Tried toasting in the oven and no better. Ordered well done garlic parmesan 'jumbo' wings and got puny, soggy, cold buffalo flavor. Delivery time was good, 30 mins for an online order with a 15 min drive time. Cook time is fast when you microwave the whole order. read more

We ordered food specifically from here for my wife. They got her order wrong, which cost extra because she added something to it, forgot our bruschetta order even though it was right on the slip, and confirmed everything was in the bag when I asked. I mentioned the free garlic and cheese bread my wife specifically questioned because it came free, and they claimed she never asked for it. I had to wait for this. We have now had 3 bad experiences there, including rudeness from the owner, and hair in a grinder. We will not be going back. They didn't offer any refund of any kind. read more

Wow! I can't believe Spiga has gotten so many rotten reviews here. I've lived in Terryville since 2006 and have been a faithful customer all these years. (A little TOO faithful.) The pizza is almost always great. Once in a while I've found that it was a little too done on the bottom but they credit you or offer to make another. Almost never an issue. I love that they deliver and frankly, I think it's one of THE best pizzas in town. I also think their dinners are nice and love the salmon one a lot. The grinders and calzones are nice too. Give them a try and don't let all these sour pusses turn you away! Nice service too. read more

Very ordinary, but I could cook better for myself. Salad dressing was obviously from a bottle, and pasta sauce was obviously from a can. I ordered Veal Saltimbocca in marsala sauce and it came with an order of pasta I assumed would have the same sauce but it had red sauce out of a can on it. Tasted like tomato juice and tomato paste. "Best restaurant in Terryville" ive heard someone say that. Whats the competition? Chinese food? Diner breakfasts? Go to the IGA instead and spend half the money for a way better meal. I dont think they have anything fresh at Spiga, everything is from a bottle/can/jar. Ive lived in terryville, right down the street from it for over 10 years now and its always been consistently bad. I still remember my last bad experience. Ordered Veal Saltimbucca, it comes with pasta and a side salad. The dressing for the salad tastes like chemicals. The pasta wasnt dressed with the sauce from the veal, like i imagined, it was covered in what reminded me of prego (from a jar). And the veal wasnt tender at all. I felt stupid ordering this at that point, i don't know why i thought itd be good. Pizza is decent but the sauce is bland. read more

This place has pretty good pizza. The crust is crispy and bread-like, and I'd probably be happy eating a bread made of just the crust. It's not at all burnt, and it doesn't have that brick-oven taste I love in pizza, but that might be what I like about it. I've eaten here a few times for dinner, but I've looked at their lunch specials, and I'll probably consider it for take-out in the near future. I like the pizza, but this place gets three stars because the salad's not very good. It was watery and mostly iceberg lettuce. Well, with the limited supply of food in terryville we have tried to give Spiga the benefit of the doubt. So this would be the second time now we have had issues. But tonight was in need of a response. With a past of working in the food industry i'm aware of the back room working of a restaurant. So when the pasta we got home was bitter/sour. And smelled terrible. My wife drove back.. owner was arguing the food was fine. Yelling at my wife. Keep in mind folks.. this was a 5 dollar plate of pasta! Was old and had been heated previously at least a couple days prior. So after some time our 5 dollars was refunded. At that point we refused a reorder.. The whole family got to eat with the exception of my wife. ( we cooked her pasta here at home later) Wish I could give 0 stars but yelp won't let me.. Hopefully the new owners will turn the place around.. I say that knowing that their is no way they could stay open with the attitude they have. read more

We used to love their pizza until they sent us a burnt pizza which took over an hour to get. When I called to complain they told me it would be 2 hours to get another pizza (by the way this was a weekday not a busy Friday or Saturday night). I asked to be credited for the inedible pizza and they said next time I ordered they would give me a free pizza. I told them that wasn't good enough I wanted a refund on my card. They told me they'd give me a credit for the pizza, when that didn't happen I called and the one person who dealt with the credit card sales was not there, but he said he would reverse the charge. I called the next day when they said he'd be in, but he was out sick. I called back again the next day they said he would be in, but he had just "stepped out". I left a message for him to call me back and he never did. I paid for a pizza that had to be thrown in the trash. Never again! read more

I am so suprised by the bad reviews. My family goes to Spiga and orders delivery all the time. We love ther pizza, pepperoni bread and specials. Delivery people are always in the time frame they tell you when they order and the one time our order was wrong they gave me a free pizza the next time I ordered - no questions asked and they apologized for the error. read more

The thin crust was nice but the sauce was very bland and they REFUSED to sell us grated chs or flaked red ppeper on the side-said they "didn't do that anymore"..lol whatever that means. The "garlic knots" were flavorless dough balls submerged in grease..absolutely horrible.
