Grated parm Traditional Plain Pie Pizza (Without Mozzarella)
    Nick P.

Really enjoyed zuppardis. Ordered a large pie to go on a Saturday at 5:30 and was ready in just 25 minutes, which is great. Had a grated parm pie with pepperoni added. Very nicely done. Their style is to make the crust very crisp, so no flop here. Ultimately I might like it more if there was just a little less crisp and a bit more chew to the crust. Definitely will be back!

This place did not disappoint ! Well worth the drive to try this wonderful pizza! The sauce is the best I have had ! The crust and generous portions of topping were perfect! I wish I stopped at three slices, but it was just too delicious . We had a large pepperoni and nothing was left on the tray.

Stopped by Zuppardi's Apizza for the first time and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We came specifically for the fresh shucked clam pie (market price) and the Zuppardi Special with mushroom and sausage, plus a small Caesar salad for me. The pizza had that perfect crispy bottom and great flavor all around. Everything was delicious. A highlight for me was my son eating his first entire slice of pizza -- not just the crust -- which says a lot. We arrived around 12:15 on a Sunday and were seated right away (grabbed the last available table, so timing worked out perfectly). Definitely coming back!

They took such great care of me. They will truly do everything to make sure the customer is 100% satisfied. Patient, professional, and oh by the way THE PIZZA HIT THE SPOT. Sorry no pics of the pizza, but there was a line for it when I showed up! Well earned!!

Skimpy on the toppings ..less cheese on pie .seems it went downhill since new warehouse was bought ..taste was on point ..just wasn't worth 30 plus for a small clam pie with 3 clams chopped atop..lesson learned..Minervinis it is for now on..for shame..

Wow! New Haven pizza is some of the best in the United States and honestly I was blown away by Zuppardi's. They completely nailed the sauce, cheese, dough, etc. We normally go to two different places when stopping through and this beats out our regular spot by a mile. If you're going to the "local haunts" in New Haven - maybe think about coming here. Family owned and truly delicious. Amazing service and a delightfully charming atmosphere. No burnt edges. We'll be back first week of December!! 5/5.

I'm a huge fan of CT pizza, and have been to Pepe, Modern, Sallys and now Zuppadri's. Zuppardi's, while solid, is my least favorite so far. Tried to sausage, which was recommended by a friend. It was fine. The crust was a little thicker than I would have liked. Sausage was good, but overall, the pizza just taste a little ordinary. Maybe I should have ordered a cheese instead. On the plus side, parking was convenient (came off peak), as they have a decent size lot. Also they take orders by phone, which took about 25min. I'd come again if I were in the area.

Zuppardi's is part of the best Apizza in New Haven conversation. For me, it's definitely good pizza, but lacks some of the character of my personal favorite. Part of my being slightly unimpressed could come from the overall experience of getting inside. My husband went to put our name in for a table and asked if there happened to be any accessible parking that we didn't see in the lot that they have. The host didn't even know what that meant. So just to confirm, in their decently sized parking lot there is not a single accessible space, and I'm not sure how that's legal. Based on the number of mobility aids present that night, half the parking lot should be handicapped parking. Oh, and nothing brings out the worst in people like a busy parking lot. A spot was opening up as we were looking for a place to park which we thought was fortunate so I wouldn't have to hobble so far. Well, a woman blocked the space with her body so one of her friends could park his absurdly large pickup truck there instead of us. Hey, if you ever read this, you're a crummy person and should feel bad about yourself :) Anyway, onto the pizza. We ordered a Margerita and a buffalo chicken. I really hoped to try the special but I was overruled haha. The crust is tasty and shatteringly crisp, no flop here. For me personally though, I like a crust with some variety in texture so it lacked some character for me. The red sauce was very good but needed a little salt. The cheese on the table did remedy that. On the other hand, I found the buffalo chicken pizza way too salty. The other members of my party really enjoyed it though, so to each their own. It was loaded with chicken that was very tender, and because the crust is so sturdy it held up well. Service was also subpar. Our waitress was friendly, but slow. I'm not surprised given that there were only 2 waiters for the whole restaurant. Definitely make sure you order pitchers to drink. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back unless I was in New Haven reeeeaally wanting pizza and everyone else was too busy. I'd rather just try to time my apizza cravings with quiet times at Modern.

Food was great like usual. Service at this original location however is so LACKADAISICAL. There was water spilled at my table. We asked them for help. They moved like snails and we cleaned it all ourselves by the time someone came to help us. It was honestly pitiful how aloof the entire staff was.

Want to give a 3 but being nice. Food was tasty but heavy. Old school atmosphere was fun and nostalgic. Service was weak - unfriendly and rushed.

This is definitely one of my favorite pizzas in all of Connecticut. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and given a menu and drinks. It has an old-school vibe to it which we liked. The mozzarella pizza with meatballs was amazing. The juices from the pizza tasted great. We weren't able to try any other pizzas since we were in a rush, but we definitely want to try different ones at another time. Highly recommend this spot for all things pizza!

We called in and but was only running 20 minutes for a pizza. We were 2 hours away. They were super nice an offered to honor our eta! Loved that! Cute little place in a suburban neighborhood. Plenty of parking but overflowing with people! I mean people eating out of their cars on the street. New Haven is serious about their pizza! ( A house down the street was for sale and on the realty sign it said purchase comes with a free pie!) The pizza... it was ok. Too much cheese. To be fair, not my style of pizza. Too thin for me.

Came here on a Friday evening to dine in. I got lucky and was able to have the last table that was free otherwise you will have to wait. The line that usually is out by the door when you walk in is the to-go/pick up line. Parking is filled up so I had to do some street parking down the street which isn't too bad after stuffing yourself with pizza. Got a large house special and a small clam pizza (market price on the menu, $25 the day I got it). I can say I really loved their clam pie, it had a good ratio of clams, oilness, and crisp to it without it being heavy or drenched in oil. The house special was good, some of it was consistent and some were more floppy with usually those being more loaded with the toppings. Honestly, I was a really big fan of the crisp the pies had to offer and the great distribution of that New Haven-style oven charr but not to the point where it tastes burnt. I would rank Zuppardi's higher than Pepe but I still enjoyed modern and Sally's slightly better. However, don't get me wrong Zuppardi's is one smacking licking delicious pizza and you definitely cannot go wrong with this. especially in New Haven.

Is it hard to get a table?

I guess it depends on when you go. The worse case scenario I've run into is a weekend evening. We prefer a booth and will wait for one, versus a table. The booth wait has been as long as 15 minutes when busy. We could have gotten a table sooner I… Read more

Does anyone know the current price for a medium clam pizza? Or the price for a medium clam pizza with 1/2 mozzarella? I know it is expensive. Thanks

We paid almost$40. Delicious but too expensive for me to repeat. This was about 7 m ago. Go online for current price.

Kwok has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Some of the other restaurants he has opened include Sweet Basil in Fairfield, Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake Cafe in Westport, and Eat Noodle in Bridgeport. Kwok and Nguyen's latest venture opened at the Connecticut Post Mall in a restaurant space that was previously home to Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar, which specialized in tavern-style pizzas cooked in a cast-iron skillet. 8 Thousand Pizza offers this same style of pizza, but what sets them apart from the previous pizzeria is that they also offer self-pouring technology, which became legalized in Connecticut in 2021. The food menu features two dozen tavern-style pizzas as well as burgers, wings, fries, salads and soups. Through the use of a supplied electronic bracelet, customers can self-pour their own beverage from a selection of 28 craft beer taps and 6 wine taps. There's a two-pint or 32-ounce limit for the self-pours. I recently visited 8 Thousand Pizza for dinner. I had previously visited the space when it was Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar and was sad to hear that they moved. However, this new business concept of a tavern-style pizzeria with self-pouring taps sounded very interesting to me. This was actually my first visit to a self-pouring taproom, as these types of establishments only just began opening in the state in the last few years. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Grandma's Tomato Pizza" (fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted garlic, tomatoes and EVOO) and the "Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza" (tomato sauce, pepperoni, hot honey sauce and mozzarella cheese). The latter happens to be 8 Thousand's signature pizza. Both pizzas had crust so thin that it's almost cracker like; they didn't flop at all. They were super crispy with excellent sauce and toppings. I honestly can't decide which one I liked better; they were both very good. During my visit, I enjoyed some self-pours of Grey Sail Brewing's "Captain's Daughter" (Double New England IPA) and New Park Brewing's "Cloudscape" (American IPA). Delicious pizza with craft beer is always an excellent pairing! I had a really nice experience at 8 Thousand Pizza and I hope to return with my family.
