Quick lunch stop after being snowed in for a couple days. Food was good, staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Also, it was pretty busy for a weekday afternoon. That's always a good sign in my opinion.

Super Spike Burger with Beer Cheese

Spikes Keg O Nails has been an enjoyable spot for me and my friends to drop by when we're in the Grayling area. They have a fairly large menu offering your typical bar foods like fried appetizers and burgers as shown in the picture. The servers there have always been friendly and attentive and the restaurant has a great atmosphere to pair.

Spike burger with sweet potato fries! Great lunch stop!!

Great ambiance! Enjoyed sitting at the bar (bar stools were roomy and comfy). Had their burger - a little overdone but still very tasty. Sweet potato fries were excellent!

Super small summer salad for $13.

Awful place. Food was terrible. I ordered a summer salad for $13 and it was served in a plastic side salad bowl with 7 chunks of chicken and dressing in a packet. My companion ordered a patty melt that was SOAKED with grease. The grease was actually dripping on his hands. It was served with stale potato chips. Service was bad. Server never checked back after delivering food. Hard to believe that people gave this place good reviews because it sucked.

Ok, this place is PACKED. We went on a Thursday night and everything from the wait to the actual physical people. The interior was very...Let's just say you're getting close to the UP. The food was average; wasn't super amazing nor was it just gross. I was expecting more from the Spike Burger. Next time I go, I'll get the super version of it. Definitely military friendly as well. I'm guess it's because Camp Grayling is like right there.

Cool old-time atmosphere and good looking dishes. Don't go on Sunday at 2 PM. The place was SLAM-PACKED with a line at the door. Plan ahead.

Eh...people rave about their burgers, but I've had better. Waffle fries are good though.

I got a few vodka sodas, a fountain coke, and my husband and I shared the giantest (yes it's a word) dish of nachos in the world. They were great. We brought the leftovers home to our in laws and although they were cold and soggy, they got demolished in minutes, ha! The service was efficient. Our server wasn't overly friendly but she wasn't rude either, just wanted to get the job done. Would definitely go back for nachos and a drink!

Easily the best bar in Petoskey and honestly one of the best ones I've been to anywhere. Yes, as a…read morehometown local I'm a little biased for sure but there is something very genuine and honest about the Pub and the people there. No pretension, no putting on airs or trying to impress anyone, everyone coming as they are. You'll rub elbows with local blue collar and service industry people, trust fund kids, wealthy summer residents, everyday folks of all kinds etc. I think a lot of reviews here are from visitors expecting The Pub to be like the Perry Hotel or one of the more tourist oriented places that bends over backwards and caters to summer vacationers. One even mentioned threatening to "Go ski somewhere else" for not being coddled I guess, which I found hilarious. They also seem to mention food a lot. For what it's worth the food is pretty darn good here, though my experience is usually over some appetizers later at night shared with friends over a few drinks. Solid burgers, can't go wrong with the fish & chips and their cheese curds are surprisingly good, easily rivaling anything you'd find in Wisconsin. That said I've always seen this place as a bar first and a place to drink with friends that just happens to have good late night food too. The service is good and the people working are top-notch and good at their job, but sometimes the Pub can get a bit too busy as there's just not a lot of competition that truly rivals it downtown. That's what happens when barely anything is open late in the post-covid world and businesses seem to be closing left and right. If you can keep your ego in check you'll find a pretty rare and valuable thing here which is a local pub welcoming to anybody and truly reflecting the full breadth of the local community.

The breading very crispy, and it had a good flavor to it. I would say I was a little disappointed that these were made with mozzarella and basically just a mini mozzarella stick. But the flavor was still good and they paired well with the ranch. For the second app we went with the Pretzel Sticks with house beer cheese, mustard, and a peanut butter and jelly spread. The pretzels were warm and doughy inside, perfectly salted, and I devoured that beer cheese sauce! For my main I ordered their Blue Fig Burger. Fig jam, bacon, arugula, blue cheese crumbles and sautéed onions on a brioche bun. It was more of an artesian burger and it did not disappoint. The flavors went so well together and were unexpectedly great with the smash burger patty. They were very busy when we arrived but we were seated quickly and the service was on point. The waitress was checking on our table, and our mains were out in no time. The Brewery is currently rated at a 7.5 on my Beli and it's a great spot if you're looking for good beer, apps, and burgers!

Prices are on par with touristy craft beer destinations. We appreciated the quick accommodating service and the waitress going out of her way to find the FIFA England vs. Panama game. Food was good. I had a Caesar salad with sardines added for $2 and a cheddar white ale soup. Everything was good and fresh. I had a bite of hubby's walleye fried fish sandwich and the tartar sauce was out of this world good. I enjoyed the added ginger. Overall, a nice easy stop along the way. We appreciated they could accommodate 10 of us and indulge the birthday guest with a special German chocolate cake that was purchased at another location. Very awesome customer service. Check them out next time you're downtown and want a local brew pub with good food.

The slight cherry tang invthe bbq sauce created a very appetizing taste. The wings were cooked perfectly and I highly enjoyed them. I ordered the Pork Chop dinner ($29). This is a local michigan-raised pork with a cherry apple chutney. The pork chop was excellent and the cherry apple chutney was a great addition. It came with mashed potatoes and a cucumber corn medley. They both were very good. North Peak Brewing makes their own Root Beer. Honestly that why I chose to come here. Thankfully the Root Beer was excellent. The service was friendly, but not very efficient. I think they are short staffed because the bar tender was also my waiter and he was busy bartendering! Overall I still rate this a 5 star review. The Wings, Pork Chop, and Root Beer were all excellent and I would return for any of them. So yes I would Return.
