Had a great dinner here with my husband. We had the Hana roll but changes the tuna to salmon, seared salmon nigiri and a bunch of dim sum. The shu mai was amazing, very fresh and juicy and I also loved the steam pork ribs, pan fried pork buns, and soup dumplings. We finished with the golden lava buns that were strongly recommended and they were fantastic! So unique and delicious with a gooey salted egg yolk inside. My wife and I were excited to try this place as we love dim sum. I should have been concerned when we were able to sit down on a Friday night after 10 min wait. The place looked empty. I will start with the variety of items available on the conveyor belt were very limited. It seems like the push is to order off the menu which has more expensive items. The items on the belt did not seem fresh and there seemed to be more dessert like items rather than dim sum or sushi. The 'other' conveyor belt restaurant has fresher items and while it might not be dim sum has enough choices that difference is irrelevant. This is a once and done experience. This place looked promising, so I stopped by for lunch. Dim sum came out looking amazing, but flavors are missing. Seasoning is inexplicably restrained on the stuffed eggplant, chicken feet, pork and chive dumplings, bean curd skin, and beef chow fun. Their offerings are not intended for the palette of native Cantonese or anyone else who values authentic flavors. Food is straight up bland, so it doesn't make sense for them to charge extra for condiments (with exception of ginger and wasabi). Turnip cakes are strangely not served with a dipping sauce, and while there is a container of soy sauce at the table, there is no chili oil, and a request for Sriracha costs $0.50. While this is a small fee in the grand scheme of my $100+ bill, I've never heard of an authentic dim sum restaurant charging for hot sauce. Also, there is a disconnect between the modern, contemporary concept of conveyor belt service and the robot playing Kidz Bop vs the traditional decor and background music. read more

What a hidden gem! This place has both dim sum and sushi and both are fantastic. The sushi here is incredibly fresh. I ordered a hana roll and loved the king crab and salmon. The dim sum was amazing too. There isn't much dim sum options in Rochester and this place makes it all in house which you can definitely tell. The siu mai was fresh and much better than any other dim sum in Rochester, would strongly recommend. I also go the pork bun pastry which was legitimately out of this world, ill come back just for this. Overall I had a great experience, great food and great ambiance. I've been here about a dozen times since they opened, and it's better with each visit. I can't really recommend a dish because everything I've had is delicious: cucumber salad, pickled veg, scallion pancakes, various sushi dishes, buns, dumplings, you name it. I haven't had a dish I didn't enjoy, and the additions (having more chicken options, the beef options, mochi donuts, noodles) are good, more familiar foods to bring hesitant people in and also things the kids love. That said, I was thrilled to see my 2-year-old picking more authentic options off the conveyer belt and enjoying the heck out of them. It's nice that you can try something off the conveyer belt then order a larger version of it off the menu. The robot that brings out drinks and the fish are also good entertainment for the kids. Also, the fact that there's something you can get on the table pretty immediately while waiting on the order you place on the tablet to get to your table means far fewer hangry meltdowns. read more

Again, nice venue, food is good. Having the server hovering over you while trying to decide a proper tip, is not a good look and unprofessional. Servers that only serve water and ginger should only get 15%, if that! please consider changing your methods of service for future customers. Buy a second robot. read more

Food, service and ambiance were great! The food was incredible!! Note. They have sushi and dim sum/hot food. We ordered many different things (taking from both the conveyor and ordering from the kitchen). You use a tablet to order from the kitchen/drinks/non-conveyor items. Some kitchen food came from our server and others came on a conveyor ABOVE the main conveyor. This past Tuesday was their soft opening, but we knew they were coming from the sign they hung outside. What we did not know is that the building houses three different restaurants! Tip: The entrance to Spin and Savor is towards the back of the parking lot. We enjoyed: Stuffed Lotus leaf wrap Shrimp and chive shumai Pork dumpling Soba noodles with shrimp Pan fried Turnip pancake (unlike you've ever had :P) Shrimp tempura roll They were constantly putting different dishes on the conveyor for variety. Japanese sushi is good. Chinese dim sum not so good. I am of Chinese/Cantonese descent and had typical Asian restaurant dim sum before. Have been to china town Toronto, NYC dim sum and spin & savor dim sum does NOT measure up. read more

Food was cold, tasted like frozen dimsum but they didn't reheat it enough. Sushi rice was hard and cold like old rice. False advertisement from the menu to table. I ordered sashimi 3 pieces from the menu, they brought 2, and manager claimed that they cut it thicker than their menu pictures when questioned. Brought a bowl of soup order without any type of spoon, they didn't bring the spoon out till the third time requested. VERY stingy on ginger for the sushi, waitress had attitude when requested extra ginger. First and LAST time i will ever come to this place. P.s. stomach feeling funny as I'm editing this! read more

I have been pining for a good dim sum place and am very happy with what I've had here so far. The soup dumplings and beef chow fun are the best I've had in Rochester. Went for lunch recently. The food was good but I ordered most dishes from the menu rather than the conveyor belt. They just opened recently so still working out the kinks. Food was good, not the best I ever had but decent. A nearby similar restaurant has a better selection and slightly better sushi, but I will be back as they "mature" the new place. read more

What fun! We have been to revolving sushi restaurants before but Spin & Savor has that little extra. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It doesn't feel "sterile" like other revolving restaurants. The food was delicious and very fresh. The sashimi melted in my mouth. Spin & Savor had a wide variety of food choices and desserts! The conveyor was easy to pick from because the plates were color-coded instead of struggling to scan a QR code like other establishments. It was very busy but service was fast, the staff helpful and friendly. The owner checked in with his guests during the evening, giving food and drink suggestions, chatting warmly and making sure we had everything we needed. It has been a very long time since we've had quality in person dim sum dining in Rochester. I can't emphasize enough how impressed I was- upon walking in, the dining room was gleaming, clean, and vibrant. The subtle yet elegant Asian decor makes this restaurant stand out. Revolving sushi and dumplings are constantly available and the rest of the menu (ordered via tablet) was vast. The traditional items (sesame balls, spring rolls, scallion pancakes) were delicious and extremely fresh. There were also unusual items (black sesame rolls) that were equally delicious. The shareable plates were full size dinner portions and extremely reasonably priced. All in all, this restaurant was outstanding and I'm so glad dim sum.Is back!! read more

I love dim sum and can tell that the dim sum was made in house and not bought frozen and reheated like at many dim sum restaurants in rochester. It tasted fantastic and so fresh. Ambiance was pleasant, easy to have a conversation. Staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful in explaining the ordering/plate process. Food was delivered in a short time and was piping hot!
