French fries - nice and hot, but seemed to be missing salt
    John C.

We stopped by after a trip up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Service was very friendly. We ate outside which was nice, but they also have a pretty big dining area. Food was good but not great. It all seemed fresh. The French fries were good but didn't have as much flavor as expected. The chicken was good, but relatively small pieces.

I have been to spitz before and love it but had never tried this location. I was very excited when some people at work asked me to go here. I got my usual: street cart fries with sweet potatoes. It was as good as ever. Their sweet potato fries are my favorite. It comes with a lot of food, so I ended up getting two meals out of it. This location has gorgeous mountain views with good seating options both inside and outside. I would recommend checking it out!

Spitz is very yummy! I really like the set up and the seating options! I also think the staff was very nice! I will be coming back here! I think everything was tasty and was fresh! Also their sweet potato fries are insane! The large is a huge portion! Good to share with someone else

Take out lunch order for our work conference! Everyone seem to love what they ordered and I love that there's a variety. I really like the sauces and hummus that was provided with the pita crisps!!

I've been to their restaurant and have ordered it as take out. The vibe inside is fun, fast and friendly. The beer is very good, either draft or in the pint can. The service is fast, and food, epically good. The wings are just wow. Highly recommended!

My wife and I stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday. They had New England Clam Chowder as a…read morespecial and we ordered a bowl to share. I ordered the Beef Shawarma and my wife got the Musakhen with fries. The Clam Chowder was good. I've certainly had better, like at Market Street in town or at the Brigantine in the San Diego area. The server was kind of stumbling over his words when he described it and until it arrived I wasn't sure if it was going to be New England clam chowder or Manhattan. He proclaimed that it was the best clam chowder you'll ever get at a Middle Eastern restaurant and I can't really argue about that. The Beef Shawarma is served in a wrap that is open at both ends and cut in half. They put a small portion of pickled items on the plate and dust everything with sumac powder. The beef is thinly sliced. I really didn't enjoy the flavor. The greens in the wrap were extremely bitter and in my opinion it made for an unpleasant flavor. Maybe I just got extra bitter greens on mine but it was overwhelming everything else. I didn't like that the wrap was open, I had to lean over my plate as I ate because the sauce was dripping out and I didn't want to get it on my clothes. Eventually I gave up and used my fork to pull the meat out of the other half so that I could avoid the bitterness. The Musakhen (that's how it is spelled on the menu) was also a wrap. I tried a bite and I liked that better than the beef Shawarma but I still didn't really like something about the flavor. The fries were nicely crispy and fresh but there is a seasoning on them that really wanted to be on my fingers more than it wanted to be on the fries or my napkin. Like no matter how hard I tried to wipe it off there was still some of it on my fingers. Once again there was something about the flavor I didn't really like. My wife eventually offered up some of the aioli and it made it a little better but once again I didn't really like the flavor of the aioli. So for whatever reason the flavors there just aren't for me. My wife on the other hand was very excited about everything and was talking about all the things she was going to try the next time we visited. I didn't want to be a negative bummer during the meal but I was thinking she was going to have to come back with someone other than me. The restaurant is nice and they have very good service. There were a few other tables of large groups and it seems like this is a place that works well for get togethers. Parking is not adequate at all. We got a spot but only because we got there at 4:50 for dinner. I overheard other people talking about the trouble they had finding a spot.

I ordered the lamb pita wrap and watched them grill the meat over wood-fired coals. It was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. If you're a big eater, order an extra skewer and have them add it to the wrap. We also started with the Labneh with garlic, which was a fantastic - it's fresh and vibrant. All of the breads are made in-house in their tandoor-style oven, and the pita served alongside it was warm, fresh and spectacular. The ordering process is simple - order at the counter, take a number, find a seat, and pick up your food when your number is called. The staff was clearly busy, but when I asked a few questions about the business, they were more than happy to stop and chat. I complimented them on both their operation and the food. They seemed genuinely appreciative. I think places like this are special because they are a well run kitchen with people who care about what they're doing. And in return it comes out in their product - really good food. The ovens and cooking area are customer facing, and everything is made to order right in front of you. The interior has the feel of a one time American diner with floor tiles that match the chairs. But make no mistakes about it, this is far from that. And when I was sitting there watching the person grill skewers over the wood coals, I was thinking that this restaurants kitchen was being run like I was sitting in an open-air café in Beirut. Authenticity is on full display here and it's appreciated.
