Only 4 stars though for me and a 7/10 because I have a preference for sauces, spice, and acidity. Next time, I'll get extra tsatziki, the pickled vegetables, red sauce, and no fries. For our ski trips, we usually stay at Cottonwood Hyatt and Spitz is just a short walk away. Food is excellent. And I especially like that all the food is neat and clean, so you don't make a mess. We really enjoyed our meal at Spitz. I am a big fan of Greek/Mediterranean and am always open to trying a new spot for delicious food. Spitz was the perfect post-hike Mediterranean grub. I had the beef and lamb spicy döner, while my friend had the chicken street cart döner. We both thought the meat was very juicy and flavorful, with a good ratio of meat to accompaniments to sauce. Mine had heat without being nearly overwhelming; the spicy döner is more about the flavors of chili sauce and pepperoncinis rather than spicyness, which I thought was great. We weren't terribly impressed by the wraps themselves, which served as the vehicle for the meats. But we were overall happy with what we had! read more

Really tasty food. It's American shawarma-centric: a roasted beef/lamb combo is their most popular protein, and a number of plates include tzatziki, french fries, and chickpeas. The menu is relatively simple, consisting of salads, wraps, sandwiches, and baskets (salads where the lettuce is replaced with fries). Everything is tasty and filling. Alyssa took our order today and was awesome--friendly, accommodating, a total pro. I've met the owner as well and he's a nice guy. The first time I ever had the pleasure of visiting a Spitz, was back in Studio City, CA. I had know idea that Spitz was also here in Utah. A lot of time restaurants that do the California/Utah crossover, can be a let down. (I'm looking at you in-n-out) but I was pleasantly surprised by my most recent visit here. Having now been a patron of locations in LA, Portland and Utah, I can say across the board this is a great place. Mediterranean food is usually hard to butcher. It's got enough aromatic flavor to carry most any dish. Spitz is both casual and unique. It incorporates classic regional ingredients with street cart flair. You won't break the bank to go here like you may at Layla or Mazza, but you still get a really great food experience. If you're a first timer to this type of cuisine, Spitz will get your feet wet, and is a great first step. There are not many items available on the menu. For some restaurants this is the key to success, and in others a major deterrent. Spitz falls into the former. While you could likely be satisfied with any selection I must say, if it starts with "street cart" it is a must try. Street Cart fries and Street cart doner, are what I'd classify as their most popular, and with good reason. If you're a fan of garlic, onions and feta---this is the selection for you. These are the types of fries you're gonna be craving at 3 am, only to purchase them hours later at 11. I'll be the first to say Falafel isn't for everyone, but if you fancy it, you're gonna like it here. I could easily go item through item and tell you why it's great, but I'll leave that for you to discover. The downside? Potentially? Is that Spitz is not most exciting to look at. Don't get me wrong, it's clean, bright and always well maintained. But it's likely not a place you'd take anyone to brag about atmosphere. That's okay. When you strike gold in food, you could be serving it out of a paper bag and I'd still be happy. See for yourself. read more

First of all, I feel like I hit the lottery randomly finding this place while on a business trip in SLC. I also wasn't sure what "Mediterranean street food" was, but I'm glad I saw a pic of fries covered in amazingness on Yelp. I ordered the Street Cart Fries with the Works (which adds meat and zesty fries). I chose the lamb/beef as my meet and these were INSANE. They are covered in veggies and delicious garlic aioli. Amazing! We all loved the food, even the little kids. They got a plain gyro and ate the whole thing. We got a couple different pitas and they were all amazing. The fries are strange, but good. I don't know if they were as amazing as the rest of the food, but it's part of the experience! It's a little bit pricier than other places, but not ridiculous. I was introduced to Spitz while working in downtown SLC. I was glad to see they opened up another restaurant elsewhere in the valley. I've always loved it. I have yet to be disappointed with the quality or flavors of the food. I do however think their prices are too high. $13 for a doner or sandwich and nothing else to go with it. ?? Super disappointed! At 3pm I placed a simple, 1 order, of fries and set the time for 4:30pm. We arrived at 4:25 to pick it up and they were sitting on the counter for who knows how long... so, our street cart fries were cold and soggy! They were disgusting!!! We were so upset but I have time to order new ones. I wish I had run them back in and demanded my money back. $15 has always felt a bit overpriced for 12 waffle fries (yes they are covered in meat and other toppings) but tonight it was $15 in the toilet. My daughter and I have always loved getting these in the past as a fun treat but I will never order online again and I suggest everyone beware since they clearly do not care about making food at the requested time. read more

I am simply in love with the place! Healthy and fresh yet still so flavorful and filling. The menu is varied enough to please big parties and families of picky eaters the like. The wraps are all excellent, well balanced with a good meat to veggie ratio. Be sure to order some appetizers for the group as they are all delicious. I crave the fries a few times a week and the fried chickpeas were a very delicious and crispy surprise. The staff is very friendly and even when the place is packed - Service is quick. My only issue is consistency. I've eaten here a few time and ordered take out and at times there isn't any sauce given with the order.
