Finally took the opportunity to dine in on a sunny but chilly Sunday evening. And I'm so glad that we did. We were greeted by the welcoming staff immediately upon entry and were directed to choose a seat while we decided what to order. We opted to sit outside on the patio since we had our dog with us. Since it was our first time dining in we also opted to try items that we haven't had before, the wings, doquitos and the doner basket. It felt like our food was ready within just a few minutes of ordering. Service was fast and friendly. I must say that everything tasted incredible. But the wings really surprised us by how crispy and flavorful they were. They didn't need the accompanying dipping sauce but the sauces were also great, specifically the red one which was full of bold flavors. Each dish looked beautiful and tasted fresh. I've been here a handful of times and have gotten a weird variety of portion sizes. I come in pretty regularly, place my order online usually because I work in the neighborhood and consistently observe the staff being annoyed with customers. I ordered the Mediterranean wrap with fries and my other half ordered a donar bowl packed with all kinds of healthy options. First off, they are playing The Smiths on here, which is an automatic win. The ambiance is fantastic, seating and vibe od robust in a "city street hole" kinda way. My daughter and I were out and about running errands and looking for a tasty, unfussy lunch option that wasn't fast food, and we are thrilled to have discovered Spitz. Spitz reminded us of a favorite from our Bay Area, CA days. So, on top of a great experience, it also gave us a tiny bit of nostalgia and comfort in our new home turf-- huzzah! The service was welcoming, friendly, and patient as we got our bearings on the expansive menu. You order at the counter, get a number, find a table, and they bring your order to you. The inside of the restaurant is what I imagine would be like if Dave's Hot Chicken and Nick the Greek (our Bay Area fave) had a love child. It's a fun, airy, well-lit, and clean space with decor nods to PDX. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and our food was delicious. We each got an O.G. gyro and split the fries. I had a hard time deciding on the menu because everything looked delicious. Now, the trick will be for me to try something new, because I loved my O.G. gyro so much that I can see myself ordering it time and time again. Quickly becoming my new favorite spot in Hillsboro! Fantastic food, I've been 3x now and have tried a bit of everything and plan to continue working my way through the menu because everything has been so good. Even the vegan options were phenomenal and protein packed. I love that they do "mixed" fry, where it's half sweet potato and half classic. The hummus is perfectly smooth and more than once I have found myself forgetting about my other sauces because I was enjoying the hummus. The decor is cool and they've got a sweet covered patio area. Staff have been kind and service has been quick each time with food coming out hot and crispy. It was quite busy inside as we went around dinner time but they had plenty of nice outdoor seating options for our small group. The service here was excellent. I was excited to see that Spitz would be opening a location in Hillsboro! I pick up a lot of catering orders at the Killingsworth location and it always smelled amazing and the customers I delivered to always raved over the food. I actually went to the Killingsworth location to dine with friends for the first time. I got the vegan doner basket, I loved it, but thought I would have enjoyed it more with rice instead of french fries. I asked if that would be possible and was told yes. So a couple days later, I met my sister at the Hillsboro location with the idea of getting the vegan doner basket with rice instead of fries. I got there about 10 minutes before my sister. I thought about getting something to drink while I wait for her, then order my food when she got there. I was told I would have to pay for my drink and then pay separately for my food. I couldn't keep a tab. Then when I asked if I could order the doner bowl with rice instead of fries, and she couldn't figure out how to do this. So I waited a while before ordering. A different person took my order and was able to figure it out. A couple of hiccups with a new place opening. The decor is colorful and fun. The food tasted great. I like how they have a clearly marked menu for Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten free. I'm sure I'll be back! read more

We were excited for this place to open close to home and placed an online order for pick up on a Thursday for lunch. The space itself is small but was very busy and lively with the colorful decor and indoor and outdoor seating. It shares a parking lot with Jamba Juice, Cinnabon Swirl, and Shake Shack and looks like more businesses coming soon next door so parking can be challenging during busy times. We were greeted right away and were able to pick up my order right away - a very fast and efficient process. I appreciated all the different choices on the menu but decided to get the Street Cart Donor Wrap with beef and lamb, fried combo (regular fries and sweet potato fries) and an Arnold Palmer for a drink. The wrap was skinny and filled with lots of veggies and an average amount of meat. The crispy pits chips inside were a nice addition in the wrap. Surprisingly the sweet potato fries were my favorite dipped into the flavorful sauce that came with it. I do think $21 for a combo is a little pricey but we were able to share it and be full. The salad bowls looked great too so we might be back for that and maybe try dining in next time for the full experience! read more

Came here on opening day! So Good! My wife had the berliner bowl with quinoa and lamb. She loved it and said she would get it again exactly the same. I had the Zesty Feta Doner with lamb- so good! Just a little bit of heat because of the banana peppers and sauce. The more I ate it, the more I enjoyed it. We liked the regular fries better than the sweet potato fries. The regular french fries were so good! The falafels with hummus were good. They might have been a little overcooked, but we still liked them! The staff were all super friendly and hard working. What would have made it 5 stars was a little bit of more heat. I found it little bland. The Doner Salad with chicken comes with well-spiced rotisserie chicken over greens, topped with fried pita strips, tzatziki, and garlic aioli. It's fresh yet indulgent, with crunch from pita and creaminess from sauces. Works if you want something lighter than a wrap but still filling and flavourful. We did have to add bit of rice the salad for dinner. Service was great, ambience is amazing and cute. Will definitely go back for more. Although its definitely pricey for portion sizes. read more

Went here today for lunch (slowly working my way all around the shopping center for midday eats) I have been to other Spitz locations in LA and North Portland but this was easily 7-8 years ago. Still, the memories of döner live fresh in my mind. If I had had a meal partner for sharing, would've gotten a wrap combo meal of some sort, but today I got the salad. The good: loaded with meat, tons of olives, pepperoncinis, and the fried pita (?) strips on top were amaaaaazing. The bad: crispy garbanzo were burnt to a crisp and flavorless and I will ask them to leave off next time. Salad mix too was pretty meh, but so many fixin's that every bite was still delicious. Plenty of food, $15. (Making it a combo with fries and a drink adds $7 fyi.) Looking forward to revisiting when it's not a workday lunch and I can enjoy a beer with my meal! read more

I ordered the vegan wrap, the vegan medi bowl, the vegan remix bowl and an order of their thin cut fries. My roommate and I enjoyed our food very much. The fries had a nice crispness and weren't greasy at all. The bowls and wrap had a great mix of items that were all fresh and full of flavor. I had read that someone thought the falafel were dry. I didnt think they were really dry inside just very crunchy outside. The included sauces were all great too. I recommend ordering extras of your favorites. As a vegetarian, I appreciate the menu offering a veggie option for just about every item. There's also a vegan section of items. This is a great addition to the Reeds Crossing shopping center giving more variety than a burger, sushi or a sandwich shop. It's a different take on Mediterranean food. The Quinoa side salad was so tasty! I added that as the side to my OG gyro. The pita bread was fried like a taco and lost its integrity after a few bites so I was a little sad about that. We also tried the Doner Mediterranean wrap. Very filling and we took half of the wrap home. The falafel both times we tried it was hard and dry. I will pass on it a third time. The next visit I tried the Berliner bowl with chicken and it was great packed with flavor. The pita strips with hummus are amazing!! We ended with the baklava and it was meh. Haven't heard of this place before, but was excited to see another food option in Reed's Crossing. It is quick service counter style, so you order and pay up front and then have a seat with your number. There's also a bar! And house made sangria! It has tequila bar vibes and a spacious patio outside. The kebabs are delicious and very veg forward. I love that they offer bowls too. My partner wishes they use homemade pitas and wraps, but that's the only negative. Service was quick and friendly, will be in our rotation of nearby lunches and dinner for sure. read more

Our new fave healthy eats! Or at least we'd like to think it's healthy :P How can something so good be healthy- Idk, but Spitz made it happen! The atmosphere is lively and colorful just like the food. Service was good, food, excellent. From the crispy sweet potato waffle fries to the Dosquitos to the Street Doner wrap- everything was flavorful, had great texture, and hit the spot! Don't pass up the sauces either. The Zhoug is my fave right alongside the Chipotle-like sauce that comes with the Doner wraps and fries. Even the kids will leave wanting more! The only thing I wouldn't reorder are the falafels. Falafels were a bit dry for me, but I'm a falafel snob so I'll let it slide considering everything else was so good! Prices were fair for the portion. Will be back for more sooner rather than later! I had the GF Remix bowl and dad had the Berliner bowl. We were both really happy! You can get extra sauces in the back but the bowls came with a generous sauce serving as well.!
