Always have to try to grab a staff member's attention to get my order and they always seemed bothered to grab it. They never say thank you even when I say it or have a nice day. We have been waiting for a good Mediterranean food option around Thanksgiving Point. 1- So after my first visit, the second and third time I couldn't help myself, I got the street cart fries with beef and lamb... again and again. It's good. This forth time I got the Berliner fries with beef and lambcouldn't deviate too far) and it was just as good. 2- My wife gets the Doner salad, and I don't know how they make those two magical pieces of bread... but I'd order a basket of just that if they offered it. We ordered the Doner Basket and after arriving home (we ordered take away) we were surprised to see that we did not receive any fried pita or tzatziki. We found a sticker attached to a piece of lettuce and our falafel balls were totally dry. We also tried the new Street Greek Gyro. We didn't get any tzatziki (again) and hardly any tomatoes. Stopped by here for dinner on a Friday night with my wife. After reading other reviews, we decided we wanted to try it out. And we were not disappointed. First, let me talk about the food. I ordered the Döner basket and my wife ordered the Berliner Fries. We were both pleased with the portion size as well as how delicious it was. One small complaint my wife had with her order was she would have liked a little more sauce. We did ask them for extra sauce, which they gladly gave her. They also had Kambucha, which my wife loves, so we had to get an order of that too. We both really enjoyed the food there. I could have used a little more meat, but overall, it was great. And the fries were amazing!! It really reminded me of the Döner's in Germany. As others have mentioned, the decor is a little different, but I liked how unique it is. One complaint I had was the lack of seeing a menu until you get up front. I wish they had a large menu posted on the wall. There was plenty of time waiting in line, probably because you didn't know what to order until you got to the register. Having a menu to see in advance would probably speed up that process. If you're looking for a fresh, delicious, and fairly healthy meal Spitz is a great option. I had the Berliner Bowl with lamb and was pretty impressed. It was a good size for the price, although I would have liked a little more protein. The various portions of different mix-ins were separated in the bowl, and I ended up just mixing everything together. I also used all the tomato-based sauce, even though there was plenty of great flavor without it. The sweet potato fries were pretty good, but they were a little cold. The dipping sauce also had tons of garlic. The atmosphere was fun and eclectic. They are definitely going for a hip vibe. Oh Spitz Oh SPitz, why has thou forsaken me? I should have written my first review a few months ago, when they were one of the bright spots in the Utah eating out scene for us. Wife and I ate at the SPitz in Sugarhouse before we moved here and LOVED it. Street cart fries, Donner wrap, salad, all very YUM! Street cart fries, are what you imagine when a food truck full of french fries or sweet potato fries runs full speed into a middle eastern restaurant, and the ensuing mayhem creates a nuclear fusion of deliciousness. A steel loaf pan(clever) jammed full of french fries topped with feta, kalamata olives, beef and lamb strips, tomatoes and pepperocini (i know not authentic but still really good). Same think in the wrap, but in a piece of lavash. Ditto the salad topped with the same delicious stuff adding a piece of FRIED lavash that's absolutely wonderful. the cilantro sauce is cool and refreshing and the spicy harissa moroccan sauce has a great depth of flavor So, that meant when we moved here, we may or may not, depending on who you talked to have gone to the one in Lehi a couple of times since its the closest. Also for work meetings, you get the drift. Completely different vibe than sugarhouse. Definitely a work lunch kind of place, which is not surprising given the location. Customer service is ranging from mediocre to appallingly slow. Serving portions are directly proportional to the "Tip", which is a ridiculous form of extortion for a self serve restaurant, where the only service they provide is taking your order and bringing you your food. how do you know you say? Let's just say i may have conducted an experiment, based upon one experience, over a few trips with some more generous tips to none, and the food portions were in direct relationship to it. My last order prompted this review. you could see the empty bottom of my street cart fries container in a couple of places when my order came. Shame on you, for what amounts to extra pay extortion. I won't be going back to the Lehi location. I will save my serious Spitz craving for a trip to SLC. read more

They weren't crisped anymore, so it was more like a tortilla wrap. Forward facing service was not thrilled to be there, and didn't like questions asked. When Spitz moved to Lehi we were so excited! We loved going to the downtown and sugar house locations, but unfortunately we have been less then thrilled with this location. We have given it more chances then we would normally would in hopes it would get things figured out, but tonight was probably our last visit. We have ordered to-go probably 20 times since they opened a few years ago and I would say they got our order wrong 15 of the 20 times. And not just a little wrong, completely wrong. I started asking them to repeat back the order to me and that didn't even work. Tonight's order was actually correct but the bread of the sandwich was stale and the fries were super soggy. We usually have to cook the fries again once we get home. I am very sad that they just can't seem to get things together and hope that the other locations still make our favorite doners better then this location. read more

i've passed by spitz too many times to count since this location opened in lehi & we finally just checked it out last month, so this review is a little over due. my husband recently went vegan & i'm vegetarian so we've been trying lots of new places recently since we can't frequent some of the places we have before. spitz has options for pretty much all diets which is nice, they serve up meat but they can also vegan-ize anything on the menu & have some tasty meatless options as well! we came on a monday night in december & both ordered the street cart döner wrap with falafel. it comes with a tzatziki dressing so my husband just had his without to make it vegan. we also each had a side of the waffle sweet potato fries, & all the dressing we tried was absolutely bomb! the food was super good, just a little expensive for my liking. the place was nearly empty that night & the service is friendly. all in all, it's a nice place & we'd definitely go back. all the hype i've heard about the place over the years is pretty legit! read more

I really wanted to love this place. My sister goes to the one in Salt Lake all the time, and raves about it. For starters, I hate the decor. The Lehi mural is cool, but all the kitschy Knick knacks made no sense, and the whole place just felt really cold and uninviting. I was expecting something that matched the theme of the restaurant. It was really random. My husband and I both ordered the doner basket ($13). What the...? It's served on a piece of paper in a loaf pan. We both just stared at it like, what the heck are we supposed to do with this? It was impossible to eat without everything falling out. The fries and salad were on the bottom, with all the veggies and toppings on top. There was no way to get a bite of everything together. There was barely any feta. I couldn't find any tzatziki at all. Mine was covered in an over abundance of pepperoncinis. I finally grabbed a plate to try to spread things out, but the plate was too small, so stuff kept falling off. The paper the food was served on started to disintegrate. I ate some of it without realizing. I had the mixed meat. The chicken was like jerky! I finally got a to-go box and dumped everything in it, which made it easier to spread things out and eat it all together. My husband got so frustrated with the whole fussy mess he just didn't eat it. This dish definitely needs to be served in a different dish. I don't get the whole loaf pan thing. Is it supposed to be part of the kitsch? It's just a pain. The falafel was the most flavorful thing in the loaf, and was the only thing that had the flavor of Mid-East, or Mediterranean spices. All in all just really disappointed.
