This is the cutest place ever! We came to eat after walking around Ashton gardens. We came right before they closed at 3. The hostess (manager), server and all other employees we ran into were so nice! Our server holly was super nice and attend to us well. Our food came out quickly and they even had other waiters (Kevin) help with keeping our waters full on the hot day. My sandwich was delicious and the sweet potatoes fries were the icing on the cake! My mom got half sandwich half salad and loved them both. My daughter got the kids Mac n cheese and it was a good portion size! Why is it that Utah County has the best tasting food. If I lived closer, I would eat here often. It's that good. Except for the coffee, but then what do you expect 1. it's Utah County 2. It's late in the afternoon and minutes away from closing. Walking in you have a French bistro vibe. You have a choice of sitting outside or on the patio. We chose the patio. What a perfect afternoon not too hot with just a hint of a breeze. The waitress came over, and took our drink order. I asked if their coffee was fresh, she said "Yes" it was. Ummm ok I'll have a cup. She brought our drinks out and filled my coffee up at the table only 2/3 of the way and left. What? I hate when they do that, she knew I didn't use cream and sugar. I took one sip and knew I wouldn't be able to drink it. It was luke warm, burnt, old, just nasty. When she came back to take our food order I asked her if the coffee was fresh, she said she thought it was. She said all she did was pour the coffee in a carafe from the bigger industrial coffee machine. Oh boy. I'll just have water. She was ever so nice and apologetic, but didn't offer to make a fresh pot of coffee. After we placed our food order we both got the soup and salad combo. We had to ask three times if we could get some water. Again the waitress was ever so apologetic she came back with a picture of water and spilled it on the table and said that she doesn't normally fill glasses of water, so she's not quite proficient at it. While filling my daughter's glass of water... some black specs of something was floating in her glass. Again she was nice and apologetic and brought out a new glass and filled it with fresh sparkling water. She said she felt really bad, that she was going to give this a side order of potato fries to take home with us.(and not charge us for the fries because of all the mishaps.) *that was very nice and really not necessary* When our food came out, I was blown away with the presentation, and hoped it tasted as good as it looked. It definitely was. Sooo Good. Then the skies started to turn dark and the wind kicked up and we were ushered inside to finish our meal so we didn't get blown away and drenched. Accidentally the "to go" sweet potato fries got served at our table instead of in a to go container which is just as well as fries don't travel well. The sweet potato fries were deliciously piping hot and tasted really good with their fry sauce. Thank you. My grandson ordered a cheeseburger off the kids menu ,and it did not look appetizing at all. We went here on Wednesday with our children and my in-laws and had a marvelous experience. We didn't have a reservation, but the wait was only 20 minutes for a party of 6. They were able to text us when our table was ready, and had an air conditioned waiting area with kids books. The salads here are huge! I ordered a half sandwich and a half salad and was quite full after. They also had fresh baked bread for the table. Everything was tasty and all of us left happy. The hostess was even kind enough to have some baby dinosaurs from the "Dinosaur Island" experience come say hello to our kids at the table. We had a great time. read more

You can also opt for fresh fruit of raspberry or blackberry lemonade. We enjoyed for grilled cheese that included in myriad of cheeses including goat, my favorite. I love this place! I went for the first time this past weekend and had the best experience. Definitely ask for a spot outside if the weather is good! They have the cutest patio that overlooks the gardens at Thanksgiving Point. Besides the awesome location, they have a great menu! I seriously wanted to try everything on it, but settled on the Iceberg wedge and Italian Grilled Chicken Club. Both were very good and filling--I came home with leftovers. Their flavored lemonade is also delicious! At the end of the meal, they bring out a complimentary coconut macaroon, which topped it all off! Our waiter was awesome, and the prices weren't bad at all ($10-12). The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. This was a fantastic place for lunch. The salmon was not over cooked, the fruit fresh, but most of all how they accommodated my daughter's need for gluten free dining. When they brought out the bead, they brought her two pieces of gluten free bread, toasted and with a side of whipped butter. She's never had the experience of breaking bread with everyone else while we wait for food. Her Cheese Melt (On gf bread) was delicious. All the salads were. The salmon salad had a very light citrus vinaigrette. I really appreciate that they did not overdress the salad. It was just right for a hot day. Perfectly ripe avocado was on the Cheese Melt as well as in the salmon salad. We loved the Pot de Creme (coconut custard) with fresh berries. This was not too sweet. The contrast between the cold custard and the crunchy, toasted coconut was delightful. Drinks were kept filled in a timely manner. Our waitress kept tabs on us and really went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. The atmosphere was delightful. There's a choice of dining inside or out. Patio dining does have shade and Beautiful views. One of my girlfriends said that this was her favorite place for lunch during the summer months. I can certainly understand why. This was my first time visiting Trellis Cafe. Because it is attached to Ashton Gardens, there is ample parking nearby. I do recommend making a reservation because they tend to book up. They have amazing outdoor seating overlooking the gardens. It feels like a very fancy lunch without the high price. I had a great experience! Each person we came in contact with - from the hostess to the server were so kind-hearted and smiley. I am already looking forward to going back soon! I ordered their open-faced Cheese Melt which was so tasty! It had three different types of cheese, refreshing basil, and yummy tomatoes. It also came with a side of sweet potato fries and fry sauce. I give this place 5 stars because it was perfect for the experience I was looking for, which was to meet up with some girlfriends to catch up over lunch. I highly recommend a table outdoors--it is such a fun atmosphere with a beautiful view over the golf course. Our waitress was very sweet and kind. She brought us a complimentary lavender lemonade to try (which was divine by the way), and some coconut macaroons for dessert. The food was also delicious and a great deal! I paid $11.50 for a half sandwich and salad which was a lot of food! I got the Italian Club and the Trellis Salad and was very impressed with the freshness and flavor. While this place was perfect for my experience, it might not be for everyone. On the one hand, this is a restaurant primarily designed for "Women who lunch" and Moms bringing their kids after forcing them to go to the gardens. On the other hand, it's a great place for a lighter lunch. It's also the only place for miles where you can go to a nice sit down place near Thanksgiving Point. I mostly come here for business lunches, but I'd be willing to come back with my wife. It really is nice, and I can live without a liquor license during lunch. read more

Salmon salad, wasn't prepared for how "weedy" the salad was, but some people might like that. Salmon was a little over cooked, lacked flavor. I don't know what the dressing was, overall whole salad lacked flavor and I couldn't eat much of it. My husband's Greek salad had very dry chicken, and a pretty strange yogurt dressing that he was confused by. The only thing that saved it for us was the two loafs of bread they generously gave us and the tomato basil soup. The service was also incredible and they gave us the best view. Great price point for the quality of food. On the patio, you get to overlook ashton garden a bit with a few mountains on the horizon, but not much to see. Staff was very friendly and the service was good The server was knowledgeable about the menu and explained the daily specials well. Food was really quite good. We shared the steak sandwich and the Trellis salad. Both very tasty. Not sure we agreed with the brie in the salad. Strange combinations. The mandarins were plentiful, but most remained on the side as they seemed to be canned, but strawberries and blueberries were good. Sweet Potato frys and the dipping sauce were amazing. Again when leaving the front desk host lady deliberately insulted us. Chairs on the patio were dirty and we had to clean them ourselves. Food was served one at a time with 10 minutes between items being delivered. I was not pleased by our service. I would never recommend this establishment as long as the service persists this way. read more

My mother and I had a bad experience at this restaurant last summer although we hadn't had problems before then. We came by after touring the gardens with two babies and a 4 year old. It was such a nice day out so we decided to eat on the patio. The service was extremely slow that day, but our waiter was so nice so we were patient although the babies were getting very cranky. The bad part was the manager. Because we had babies, they got some food on the ground and it attracted ants. We did our best to clean up the food underneath the table as soon as we realized that it was happening. But the manager shamed us for the babies getting food on the ground and attracting ants. Then we went to the front desk with the check because we had gotten the wrong one and the manager was very rude about it even though it was their mistake. My mother was embarrassed that she had suggested going there and we were both left with a bad feeling about our experience. No customers should ever be treated with disrespect like that. I do not recommend bringing young children here, which is a shame, since Ashton Gardens is filled with moms with kids during the day! read more

This is our family's favorite restaurant during this summer! The servers are always incredibly friendly, and always eager to help customize an item. The outdoor seating on the patio is absolutely delightful. Covered tables with umbrellas, and usually even a slight breeze, with a gorgeous view over the gardens. Our favorite items are the trellis salad, Greek salad, tomato bisque soup, and the Italian chicken and steak sandwiches. We also love the combination of regular and sweet potato fries that they give you. The menu is varied, everything is always very fresh, and the prices are very fair. Be sure to check the hours because it is only open during the summer months, and only during lunch, and not on Sundays. Definitely worth visiting as it is unique, and a little change from your normal restaurant. read more

READ IF YOU'RE A POC: I went on my birthday and decided to go earlier than my scheduled appointment at Ashton Gardens' Tulip Festival because we called Trellis Cafe and they weren't taking reservations. I hadn't ate all day because I planned on eating brunch here. When my boyfriend and I arrived we were treated extremely poorly and I felt like the hostess was being racist and didn't want to let us in. There was PLENTY of seating across the restaurant inside AND outside but we were told we would have to wait an hour and 45 minutes to get in. Obviously this wouldn't work as we had to make it to our tulip festival reservation. Attending the tulip festival has been a tradition in our big family for a long time but we will no longer attend due to the discrimination we experienced. I would like to also say that there was not one POC in the restaurant. AND IF THE COVID EXCUSE ARISES... it's bs. The vast majority of customers/employees were not wearing face masks. Will never go back again. Also notice how all positive reviews seem to come from everyone except POC. Maybe we're not allowed in who knows but I would never recommend this place after our horrible experience. read more

Trellis cafe was definitely a unexpected surprise. The lobby of Thanksgiving Point was underwhelming, but how transformative it was to walk out on the patio. WOW! The view was spectacular and the ambiance was ideal. I loved that the spaciousness of the wood tables...none of the whimpy bistro sets here. Now for the food: I had a greek salad with grilled chicken. The portion was large, the ingredients were fresh, and the overall taste was predictable, yet satisfying. I often order Greek salads when I go out for lunch, so I fancy myself a bit of a a Greek salad connoisseur. This one was definitely on the higher end of the spectrum. It had that right ratio of ingredients and was not too acidic. (I ordered the dressing on the side.) They also have a seasonal offering of lemonades. On that day, we went with the blackberry lemonade. So refreshing and delicious. We also, foolishly, dipped into the bread basket: DANGEROUS. The bread was so fresh, soft, and warm. If you're going to devour a bread basket anywhere, the Thanksgiving Point restaurants know how to bake. I'd definitely go back again. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful. The setting of this restaurant is perfect. The name is totally appropriate, since the surroundings of this restaurant consists of some of the most beautiful plants you will see in the state of Utah. The service in my opinion was exceptional as was the food. Let me break it down for you. You have your choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is popular when the weather is nice, and totally worth the wait on a nice day. The menu is pretty simple, which is always a plus. The waitress showed just the right amount of attention, without coming on too strong. I ordered the roasted chicken club sandwich with the sweet potato fries. The sandwich was perfect in every single possible way. It is the best sandwich I think I've had in my life. Seriously, roasted chicken, hickory smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce, onion, cilantro-lime mayonnaise on the most amazing foccacia bread, mmmm mmmm good!! The waitress brought out complimentary macaroons for each of the people in our party and they too were very tasty. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food and service. I am very pleased with my experience at the Trellis Cafe and they easily earned my 5 star rating. I highly recommend trying them out. read more

The desserts are divine! The staff is always friendly, attentive and helpful. We eat here nearly every week during the months it is open and have always had a good experience! This is not a customer service oriented staff. They are nice, but service was very slow. We waited 20 minutes for hostess. Then she said she would be right back, but it took her 10 minutes. As we sat at our table, I watched her tell 2 different parties that she would be right with them, and then she came and chatted with the waitresses while she kept parties waiting. I could hear her, and she was telling them how to get big tips. We waited 50 minutes for the food to arrive. The greens in my trellis side salad were warm and wilted. The rest of the food was just okay--nothing special. My advice-leave the gardens and go to one of the restaurants in the area near Thanksgiving Point. Um... ADORABLE! I didn't even know this cute little cafe even existed! It's the perfect little spot for a girl's lunch. There are beautiful views, great atmosphere, the service is top notch, and the food was great! Make sure you try one of the fruit lemonades and if you like tomato basil soup, theirs is spot on. The pricing isn't too bad either. $12ish for a sandwich and another $4 to add soup. I'll definitely be back! read more

Beautiful setting. Wonderful service but the smoked turkey avocado sandwich was disappointing. The turkey was just a deli meat from any supermarket and not real turkey. There was hardly any avocado in my sandwich as well. If I returned I would order something else read more

My family felt incredibly welcomed by the manager. Sat down and had some of the best service I've had at pretty much any restaurant I've been to at any price point, Wendy our server was awesome. The food was very good and my son was entertained to have a project to assemble that the manager brought over after we got our drinks.
