If you are staying at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, please do yourself a favor and order some food from the Splash Bar! Splash Bar is the pool bar/restaurant inside the hotel. Frankly from the outside it might not look like much but their food is outstanding! I stayed at that hotel for almost three weeks and I can tell you that some of the favorite food I had during my trip was from this pool bar. If you are there for breakfast, please do yourself a favor and order the Special Breakfast Sandwich. This is a massive breakfast sandwich with bacon, fried egg, cheese, smoked ham and pesto mayo in a brioche bun. It is heaven on a plate and the most delicious breakfast sandwich I've ever had. However, if you want something lighter and to share with others, I highly recommend their Garlic Furikake Chicken Wings. They are crispy chicken wings tossed in a garlic sauce and furikake. They taste absolutely delicious and like nothing I've ever had before. They are sweet, savory and absolutely delicious. I understand accidents happen, but a little customer service or goodwill would have gone a long way. We stopped here before going to the room since it's located on the premises for a snack. Located near the pool and access to everyone. We ordered a combo appetizer on a 1/4 sheet pan. It came with Wings, a good helping of Nachos with all the fixings and Vinegar Chicharrones. It's a lot for two people but it's worth it. The next night we decided to have dinner and Got the Rib Eye steak with rice and vegetables and Water Crest tofu salad. We shared both and it was perfect serving. We liked the open air seating under umbrellas and got to enjoy the cute white pigeons and birds waddling around waiting for scraps. The complimentary breakfast was great! Spent several evenings here, first poolside, then inside by the lobby and right next to the entertainment ( all excellent. by the way). Probably what made this place so wonderful was the lovely Michelle, who was our server for the at least 4 times we were there. So personable, friendly, attentive, funny and smiling. We went to the splash bar for a late breakfast to use our complimentary breakfast coupons. It's located right next to the pool, in an open air seating. So if the weather is bad, the floors will be wet and you may or may not get wet. They have very large umbrellas covering the dining tables. The food was good. Here i am... expecting, decent service and just here to support a "local" artist... Tad! I will admit, as just a normal hotel, live-music, bar spot... I didn't think my service would be so exceptional! This place is open-air, "seat yourself," type of place. As a rule of thumb, I always check with wait staff just in case. Anyways, my friend and I had quickly been helped with by our server Ashley! Let me just say this... whoever hired her deserves a raise as well! Her bubbly energy, constantly checking up (yet, not overbearing), upbeat and ready really made my "light bite and cocktail" more enjoyable that I was expecting. I was here for just a nice drink and pupus as I enjoy music from my friend, Tad, walked out with an unforgettable experience that I will never forget! Food wise, well, like I said... I was hoping for just a light sampler... instead, thus again, I undermined what this spot is capable of... DA PLATTER is all you really need, we could probably use another person to help us or even 2. As for my friend and I, that is all we ate and boy.... We were stuffed! 3 items come with it and I will dissect each for you. Starting off, kalua pig nachos... now, the cheese is probably the most basic cheese sauce, but the kalua pig was nice and tender. Furikake wings were probably my favorite of the three items, the sauce was garlicky and a bit sweet, soy-based. It really doesn't need the ranch, but if you are into it then that's all you! I loved it, crispy, yet, perfectly sauced/more glazed I would say. Chicharron, it was a bit overseasoned for my liking. It was as if the cover came off while they were seasoning it. It worked out fine with some of the vinergar, which was a bit spicy. However, cool this all down with a refreshing POG slushie (with bacardi lol) and you have yourself... the perfect pupu for a chill night with some live entertainment. I cannot fully judge the food this visit because it was more pupu style, but i'd rate it like a 3.95/5 (only the platter). Lastly, keep in mind when deciding to come, the restaurant is "outside"/patio side vibes. For me, the area that the live music in was a bit warm last night. It would be nice if that had some type of fan or maybe even open up the "blinds". Since I know that's things the hotel/restaurant has no full control over, I still rate this a 5/5!
