The picnic area they tried to move us to after they overbooked the cabanas
    S G.

Updating my review since SplashDown Beach called us at the last minute to let us know they had a cancellation and now had a cabana available for us. Thank goodness they did -- because the picnic area they had offered as a substitute was nowhere near as comfortable or private as the cabana. It wasn't the same value at all, and trying to pass off a free public picnic area as comparable to a private cabana (especially for a birthday package) felt super shady and not at all what someone expects when booking a special event. You can really see the difference in the pictures. Also worth mentioning: their only offer to make up for the mix-up was a free pizza and chips -- maybe a $50 value -- which felt like a pretty weak response given how much a cabana costs ($180) vs a public table. And just a heads-up: the food packages they offer when booking aren't that great. You're better off ordering directly from the menu and using the 20% discount instead. Despite all these issues, our group still had a great time -- but the booking experience and how they handle problems could definitely be improved.

Splashdown Beach is a lovely water park in Fishkill and I can't believe that I didn't know about it until now. Feel free to view my review on the disaster that is Six Flags water park, and this is everything that Six Flags isn't. It's clean, fun and staffed by nice human beings. There were plenty of staff and it was very well run. The baby area is adorable and there is something for everyone. We did mostly the wave pool and larger slides but spent the whole 8 hours. They have a really reasonable season pass that I'm going to purchase for the rest of the summer. We got a lounger and it was great for a hot day because the chairs are covered but there is plenty of seating. They also have cabanas for larger groups.

I am so happy I took the time to come here. It is a smaller park. Do not come here expecting six flags level or even splish splash. We were able to do all the 6 rides that were open (2 were down) and the lazy River within 4 hours and some twice. But I loved that. There is also a wave pool and a regular pool which the kids spent most of the remainder of the time in. Additionally they have a kiddie section that I think is adequate if bringing a smaller child here. The staff was great. Very attentive. Very helpful. Very kind. Very shocking from most teenagers/young adults who work in theme parks. The grounds were very clean including the bathrooms. As I say on the beach area watching the kids in the wave pool, I swear someone came by at least every 15-20 min to pick up trash and sweep the sand.....yes sweep the sand. The only disappointment I faced was the ticket buying process. I purchased online. The first time it stated error and to close browser and start over, do not press the back button or I could get a double charge. I waited 10 min, checked my email and when nothing opened up s a new browser and purchased again. This one went thru and I got my tickets. Welll my email them at the same time showed 2 sets of confirmations with separate numbers. I emailed them immediately. In the park the next day they refunded me...everything but the online transaction fee. It was only $3 but I was annoyed because I should not have been charged anything for their system error. Also the fact that they charge over $5 for a bottle of water. But they did have hydration stations around the park.

here you can see the lazy river which is my favorite it's so relaxing and just fun. also the pool and a few other things

this place is so extremely fun the only terrible down side is the food.... do not eat the food here it's actually terrible. taste like cardboard. and in top of that it's expensive. the actual park is great.

I haven't been to Splashdown in years. They have made a lot of changes since I've been over 5 years ago. We went on what we didn't know was "National Waterpark day" but they didn't have any extra activities going on. The admission line to purchase tickets & bag check moved pretty quickly. We arrived at 11 am, an hour after they opened. That was a great time because we were not disturbed in the lazy river & was able to go around as many times as we liked versus when they became crowded after lunch time they would only let you enjoy going around the lazy river once, return tube & get back on line if you wanted to go again. They have a regular pool & a wave pool. The wave pool only makes waves about every hour or so & you can hear people chanting, "we want waves, we want waves!" We rented a "luxury lounge area, " which comes with 2 lounge chairs & a table. There are also cabanas for rent as well. This is an extra price with your admission ticket. The lifeguards are very attentive to doing their job & the safety of the guest. Shout out to life guard Eddie! Food prices are a few dollars less than other waterparks. There is something for all ages at this waterpark.

Pretty small water park--not that many water rides as you'd expect. Hours are 10am-6pm. We got here at noon, and had plenty of time to explore everything for a few hours. Was worried we wouldn't have enough time, but the park is not that big. All the rides are light in terms of the adrenaline rush that you'll get. Get here on a weekday. A Monday was perfect, as we didn't have to wait in lines for the rides. It gets crowded on the weekend, so be prepared to spend a lot of time waiting in line for the rides. $99 season pass and $129 season pass + perks. All day locker rental is $12 for a small locker and $18 for a big one. Free parking. You can enter and leave and re-enter the park at any time with a special hand stamp. No outside food allowed inside the park. Only bottled water. Your bags will be checked at the entrance.

I visited this water park today. It was very clean a little smaller than other water parks but very comfortable and cute. There are lots of food options as well but of course you know when you're at a water park the prices are more so be mindful of that. Parking was free. It's also very crowded even on a weekday like today when I went at 12:00 it was packed. Bare in mind that being it is still summer time a lot of camps will be there, so be prepared for that. Also if you want to rent a large locker it is $18. My family and I really enjoyed the wave pool and The lazy River and the pool itself and also the slides. We will be visiting again next summer and make this a yearly thing.

Splash Down Beach Waterpark, your board walk Pizza restaurant needs to be exterminated. This Pizza was sickening. My child RALPHED in the wave pool 2 times. You have lost a returning customer and Poughkipsee community member. I will be revoking my family and I season pass. Along with hurling, it caused my son, age 8, countless painful hours on the toilet. I hope this message finds you well, Good Evening, Gregory H. Butler.

It's expensive and not worth it ,we saw customers leaving the park to go eat , that was a sign. The facilities are absolutely gross not sanitary, food overpriced and cold and very unorganized with the 4 water rides they have as individuals consistently ran up and down cutting those waiting. I'd never come back, no mask mandates or social distancing, it was definitely over capacity today on this hot humid day and I'm overall grossed out that there's no upkeep to clean the facilities consistently to maintain health and safety ..

    One of the cool attractions.

Spent the day at SDB ! Place is well run. Immaculately clean and organized. We went on all of the slides and other adventures there. We bought a luxury lounge for the day. It was fantastic. The staff is friendly and they keep the place AAAAA Safe. The lifeguards are second to none. The waffles are amazing. We had a great day.

We bought passes for our family but it's hard for our 2 year old with Autism to enjoy any of it. He just stays in the stroller. When would be the best time to come? It's been so crowded. Do you offer any " sensory " days for families with needs?

We came on the coldest weekend of the year but my kids had a blast skiing, snow tubing, horseback riding, pony rides, arcade, game room, playing laser tag, swimming in the pool, the outdoor hot tub, and the nightly shows. Food is included in the price and it is buffet style for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is not but you are more than welcome to order more and take things to go. There's snacks available between lunch and dinner but there's also hot chocolate/coffee available all day long with some pastries. The only downside were the rooms. They are connected so if you have loud neighbors, you won't be getting good sleep. Overall, my kids loved the place and want to go back soon. I guess we'll have to wait for another Black Friday deal.

While they are a bit older than the resort's main target audience, it ended up being a great fit, especially since they had never been horseback riding and hadn't skied before. Everyone had a great time. We stayed in the main building in a room with two queen beds and bunk beds. The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable with soft mattresses and pillows. Temperature-wise, it was funny, my son and I were warm, while my wife and daughter were cold, so I guess that means the room temperature was just right. One thing to note: the walls are thin. You can definitely hear noise from nearby rooms and above. Since this is a family-focused resort, that's kind of expected. It didn't bother us, but if you're looking for total quiet, this may not be the place. Since it was midweek, there were discounts, and they even offered us on our last night an extra night for and even more discounted rate. We were ready to head home, but I would absolutely consider staying longer next time. The resort is all-inclusive, and the food was solid overall. * Breakfast was your typical buffet--scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, etc. They will cook eggs to order if you ask. * Lunch was buffet-style as well and changed daily. Not amazing, but it got the job done. * Dinner was my favorite meal and felt a bit higher quality, with multiple courses and limited menu options (which I actually liked). * Dessert was fun, especially the ice cream machine. One thing I noticed is that the food is served at a kid-friendly temperature, which took a little getting used to. I'm guessing they do this so kids don't get burned. The activities were the highlight. Skiing was fantastic because it was almost empty, there were only a few other people on the hill. Since I hadn't skied since the early 90s, it was great to have the space to fall a few times without worrying about others. The staff was extremely helpful and encouraging. The hill is more like a bunny slope, but honestly, it's perfect for beginners. If you spent a few days learning here, you'd feel confident going to a bigger mountain. Horseback riding was also great, and since it was midweek, we could have gone multiple times a day. The indoor/outdoor heated pool was really nice, and there's even a waterslide. A lot of the resort seems better suited for summer, and some things were closed for winter, but we came mainly for skiing, so that didn't bother us. The staff deserves a lot of credit. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and we never felt rushed. There's a saloon downstairs where they run games at night and offer a free drink of the night. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are always available. One small downside: when the dining areas close at night, soda machines aren't accessible, so you'd need to use vending machines (machines were coin only, so I couldn't use my Apple Pay), which felt a little odd for an all-inclusive resort. But, you can grab drinks to go while the dining room is open. On our last day, they let us do a late checkout since no one was checking into our room. We were able to grab lunch and head out without rushing, which was really appreciated. Definitely a lot more things I can talk about, but these were just the stand out things I remember. Overall: Rocking Horse Ranch is a great choice for families, beginners learning to ski, or anyone looking for a relaxed, all-inclusive getaway--especially midweek when it's quieter. It's not luxury, and it's definitely kid-focused, but it's fun, comfortable, and well-run. I'd absolutely go back.

Unfortunately, after my most recent visit, I can honestly say it will be my last. Boulder Dash was, without question, the worst roller coaster I've ever been on. It wasn't exciting. It was just painfully rough. By the time the ride ended, my friend and I looked at each other in complete disbelief, and several other people were doing the same. Everyone seemed shocked by how violent the ride was. We both walked away with whiplash, sore necks, bruises, and red marks, and I could barely walk afterward. In my opinion, the ride has become far too rough to be enjoyable. After that, we went to the yellow and green tube water slide. The employee at the bottom handed us a tube that was completely filled with water. Since the tube isn't transparent, we had no way of knowing until we tried to carry it. It was unbelievably heavy, and we struggled to haul it all the way up the stairs while people walked past us. When we finally reached the top, even the lifeguard couldn't lift it alone. It took all three of us-the two of us and the lifeguard-to get the tube into position. It was frustrating because the employee who handed it to us should have realized how unusually heavy it was and given us a different tube or emptied it before sending us up the stairs. It's really disappointing because this park was such a big part of my childhood. I expected to leave with good memories, but instead I left sore, bruised, and wishing I hadn't gone.

Geared towards the younger crowd, adults can partake in the play which was pretty cool. There was enough excitement from the various obstacles to provide a thrill, old and young alike. There are many arcade games but 1/3 of the games seemed to be out of order for my trip. Not sure if that is because of the package my group paid for. Honestly most of the games were stale. The bumper cars were of the kiddie variety and used levers for movement instead of a steering wheel so it was a little less bump which takes away some of the fun. The overall drive space was smaller so the bumps were more like nudges. The scary 3D movie experience also didn't provide the thrill I was expecting. The aroma of buttery popcorn is very prevalent everywhere in the center, so much so that I swear it's on purpose to make you buy popcorn. The pizza was not impressive but I suppose standard for the course. During my visit the wait for the concession lines were really long. It was not very crowded on a Friday morning at around 10:30am (they open at 10) so it was a pleasure navigating the space with minimal crowds. There are lots of areas to enjoy for both adults and children. The main area has trampolines as well as some interactive areas where you jump to tap buttons and two video screens where you mimic the movements on screen...both area great. There are a few obstacle courses: ninja, balance beam, and swing pit. The basketball area is also great with a cushioned surface, two hoops, and targets where you can throw balls at. There are two huge slides in the center which are fun. Finally, there a "rock climbing" area with a few different climbing options. You must have the "climb" option added to your pass in order to use it though. You will be belayed during the climb. Be mindful that the gripped socks provided do NOT offer the best grip while climbing in my opinion...climbing was much more difficult that I experience in traditional rock climbing places that provide rock climbing shoes...then again, maybe it is just me. There is a food area which sells some snacks: soft drinks, chips, candy. There are also a few tables nearby where you can eat. Overall we had a great time here...the space was very clean and well-maintained. All staff we encountered were very nice. Be sure to check ahead if visiting with toddlers as there are some restrictions on which areas they are able to visit.

Slides were closed all morning. Sad. But lots of other fun things to do.

When we arrived, everything was up and running as if it were daytime. All the games, rides and attractions were in service. I rode Go Karts for the first time in yearrrs and I actually came in first place. Me! That was dope. The BIG FUN though was all the water rides. Lazy River, pool tubing and the main pool were all open and full of people ready for a great time. We were treated to a DJ who understood the crowd assignment and shoutout to the most wonderful staff. All employees on this night were in a great mood and they gave party vibes too. The promoters didn't over sell this event, so crowds and lines weren't a problem at all. I had such a blast that I wasn't even mad about getting my phone wet. I'm looking forward to going back to The Funplex for another After Dark night out. I thought they were gonna shortchange us but that didn't happen. We were given the whole experience. Good stuff!

This is a cute place, nothing fancy. We went on a weekday during spring break. We came for a 7 year old friend's birthday. My daughter and the birthday girl had a blast playing all the things. One of the girls is under 48" so that limited the rides available to her. Some things such as the go karts need an accompanying adult. It's adults did not get the passes for ourselves so they weren't about to do the go karts. Just something to keep in mind when planning ahead. Overall cute experience for being local.
