I eat out probably 500 times a year for the last say 25 years so say more than 10000 eat outs and have never been hassled about drinking water I had in process to stay healthy, so this is kind of an extreme outlier to me. We haven't been back since and likely won't ever go back even though we live in the neighborhood, since it just so destroyed the vibe to be hassled over a 50 cent bottle of water. We generally tip 30 to 40% even on $100 plus bills so it is just in my view a dumb business decision to hassle over something like that and lose what I would guess is $2500 in revenue from this customer a year. For sure the owner can run the business however he wants, but doubt the hassling behavior is increasing revenue for him.

For some reason on this visit, I received a weirdly loose smoothie. I added cayenne, chia and vanilla protein. The person that took the order was not the one that made my smoothie. It was extremely sweet and watery which doesn't make sense if I'm adding protein powder. I asked if they add sweeteners and was informed that they add agave. This is not listed on their menu boards and if they do add sweeteners, they should inform the public so we can opt out if necessary. As I said, the smoothie is extremely watery and when adding chia seeds, it thickens the smoothie, especially when blending it. I asked the girl who made the smoothie, if she added the chia and she then asked the guy who took the order. He said they did but you can tell that they didn't or they didn't use much. Chia seeds leave black specks in smoothies, even when using a Vitamix. I'm not sure what's happened to the quality control but I'll probably wait a bit before coming back. The time before this, a completely different person was behind the counter and she added the protein powder but didn't make up for it with any additional almond milk so I ended up with a ridiculously thick smoothie.
