Owner man responded to my review - I went back into to this run down dilapadated shop. Same kind of stoner dude was hanging out and said "HEY" That was it. The owner says he pays 2% fees on avg and that is not true. Interstate rates that are mandatory eat up that 2% and profit is then added with swipe fees and a lot more. He probably does 10 - 20k a month. Peanuts. My place does just shy of 8 million in CC/Debits a year. HE DOES NOT PAY 2% and he certainly can't read his statements right ---the processor sneaks them in. In any event if you want a lazy dude to kind give you some service than this is your place. It is run down and sketch people around the store. I went to two shops and had good and knowledgeable service. I spent $2450 without the accessories added. This guys condones his doofus employees and then defends them. GO ELSEWHERE read more

Took my bike in yesterday to repair front brake, gear relighting and install a kickstand. Not only was the repair done the same day, they are very informative on what repairs were made. Loved the energy and eclectic atmosphere once I walked inside. Pete is funny and energetic for an old guy (ha ha!) and gets me when I say, "Hauling this 100 pound beast is tough on my soul." On our way home from Glacier National Park and decided to spend a day exploring Spokane before flying out next day. Rented bikes from Spoke N Sport. Great group of expert professionals there with a excellent quality of bikes. The Continental trail was fantastic and great views. I would highly recommend them and the experience. The only negative was too many homeless and this state like many liberal states need to fix not promote. read more

For 20 bucks a person, we rode the centennial trail for two solid hours and got to see all of riverside park. Our bike rentals were sweet rides and made us sorry to return home to our cheaper ones. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Be forewarned, though: the lot behind their shop requires payment! Our $19 parking ticket spoiled an otherwise perfect afternoon. read more

Called around and was offered late April appointments at several other businesses. Called Spoke N Sport and was told to bring them down and they would get them done. Did them in 3 DAYS! Spoke N Sport was recommended to me while I was looking for a local bike shop. Since then I've been into the shop several times and had two bikes tuned up and purchased a few items. I never had an exceptional experience but things were okay until the second bike tune up. The bike in question was recently purchased used. The brakes weren't up to par, and I suspected they needed to be bled. So, I took it to Spoke n Sport for brake bleeding and also decided to have a tune performed as well. Turns out the bike just needed new pads which were added. About a week later I took my bike to ride at Schweitzer. During the first trail down the mountain the locking pin that holds the break pads in place fell out, which in turn caused one of the front brake pads to fall out onto the trail (didn't know that was the issue at the time). After I got the bike to the on-mountain shop the mechanic determined the missing pad was caused by locking pins that were too short. I was able to hike back up the mountain and recover the pad and after some service (including new locking pins) finished riding the day out. The next day I brought my bike into the Spoke N Sport and explained what happened, they rechecked the brakes and I picked it up the following day. During the experience one person said sorry this happened, everyone else just explained how they used the original pins from the bike (like that shouldn't have been something they addressed during the tune up and pads replacement) and how lucky I was that I found the brake pad. Apart from the one guy, no apologies, no "we're glad you're okay", no compensation for the lost time riding and inconvenience let alone the potential liability of a complete break failure. In all I'm left disappointed with my experiences and the customer service. Looking for a new bike shop. read more

Brief but excellent experience: came in at 3p or so asking about boxing a bike for shipping. Proprietor (whose name I didn't catch) offered reasonable quote ($40) and immediate service; also offered (free) bike box. I was on the last day of my tour and took the box because I wanted to get a ride to Riverside Park in that evening. From what I heard and saw (tail end of phone convo when I came in, quoting refurb/overhaul to customer who brought in an old Peugeot), the owner was very helpful and fair, generous with his time and advice. So while I didn't actually pay for service here, the experience was much much better than various high-end shops I've visited (in Spokane and elsewhere). I wanted to buy something just because the owner's attitude was so great but was really in a mode of minimizing packing weight. Thanks for making my afternoon (and for the box!). read more

I rented a bike at Spoke N Sport, and the bike was great, the price, reasonable, but after riding for about 1.5 hours, I wanted to stop for lunch. It was very, very hot out, and I realized I had no lock, so rode back to the store and said that I had forgotten to get a lock, that I wanted to grab a bite to eat, and continue on my ride. They refused to give me a lock saying that if the lock was cut, the bike would be stolen. I have rented bikes in many, many places, and have only heard that excuse once before, in NEW YORK CITY. I was told to bring the bike into the restaurant, or take it back to my hotel and then go out for something to eat, which defeats the purpose of the bike. I will never understand the logic or lack thereof, but that is their policy. I did get my money back, but they weren't very nice about it, and I don't think I would rent from them again. I ride my bike everywhere, but I admit that I don't know a lot about bike maintenance yet. Despite, both guys were very friendly and they patiently helped me put the tires on in the store, giving me tips all the way through the process. Will definitely be returning. read more

I am a pretty avid cyclist and Road/mountain/cross racer. This is kind of my go-to shop for everything mountain and quick repairs. They sell mostly Giant, which happens to be my favorite manufacturer for MTBs. Not only does Giant offer more bang for the buck than its competitors for an equivalent bike most of the time. I find I can always get a better price here than from other giant dealers in town. they also get my bike back to me when I bring it in for repairs much more quickly than other shops. Having to give my bike up for a week when I bring it to get fixed really messes up my training, so the next day service I get here is great. In addition to mountain bikes they also have good selection of hybrids, commuters and more recreational types of bikes. I might have only given them 4 stars due to the lack of cross bikes, and relatively minimal selection of road bikes. but I like this place and I don't want to blemish their perfect 5-star record. read more

Bought a bike a year ago and they swapped the wheels from my old bike over for free. Tune ups are reasonable, always adding on free services or discount something like cleaning or small parts etc. today I noticed bike was skipping after I just got it tuned up. Took it in and turned out derailleur hanger was bent somehow since tuneup. They swapped out for free. Love this place and the people. Service and sales are great. I travel all over the US and have rented bikes in plenty of cities. Spoke N Sport by far has been the best place I've rented from. The folks there are very friendly and helpful, plus the bikes were in top notch condition, the best bike I've rented. They take real pride in giving you a bike in great condition, none over 1-2 years old. I've been stuck or had to walk back to rental places due to various problems with a bike from other places. I purchased a brand new bike and had recurring issues with the gears ($900 "Giant" cyclocross). The bike wasn't shifting up or down immediately when I got on it. It was defective. I was taking my bike back once per week for repair for the same issue because the Spoke N Sport mechanics did not fix it correctly. Rob (co-owner) worked on my bike several times. Finally, I got tired of my brand new bike having problems and asked for a refund. He yelled at me over the phone and refused to give me a refund and told me it was "all my fault" that my bike was having problems. I never got a replacement bike or any money back. Extremely disappointed in their customer service. I will never purchase anything from this company again. I highly recommend going to a different bike shop whether you need a new bike, parts or repair. read more

Highly recommend! My son goes to college nearby and the bike he used to get to/from campus wasn't working. He took the bike to another bike shop and was told the repairs would be several hundred dollars which we weren't sure was worth it. When we were visiting my son this past weekend, my husband decided to take the bike to another bike shop (Spoke n Sport) for a 'second opinion' and not only did they fix the bike for $75, my husband and son both said they were very impressed with the customer service of each of the guys working that day (Saturday Oct 10th).
