I took my bike here for service and REPEATEDLY emphasized that I did not want any frame damage while doing the repair. I was assured by the manager Dan Nordendale that my bike would be taken care of. Instead, they chipped and gouged my frame in numerous areas, causing more damage then 2 seasons at Silver Mt Bike park. On top of that, when I suggested (validly) that a small amount of time masking the area they were working on could have prevented the damage, I was cursed at and gaslit by none other then the manager Dan himself. This business is terrible and they DO NOT care about your bike. They didn't hesitate to charge me $100 an hour for their "service". Wish I could rate them zero stars. If you care about your bike at all find a better shop, any of them out there are better then this joke of a business. read more

Wheelsport has been our go to bike shop in Spokane since we moved out to the valley 17 years ago. Between myself and two kids we have probably purchased 8 bikes from this store and its always been a great experience. They do a great job with maintenance, too. I went in to check around because I am very clueless about bikes and talked to some kid who suggested the opposite of what I was looking for, he couldn't answer a question and went to ask someone and never came back. The only reason I returned is because it was the closest bike shop to my home and my car is not big enough to fit a bike and I do not have a bike rack for it. All the other shops in the valley are too far for me to walk to them and I am not riding the bus during a pandemic. The next day I talked to a lady who seemed slightly more with it. She suggested almost the opposite of what I was looking for, but was closer. She let me ride it around the parking lot. It was an okay price and seemed to match my needs after very limited riding but was ugly as dirt which doesn't really matter. I went ahead and got it. It was a gravel bike and I ride on the centennial trail mostly and otherwise just surface streets in the eastern part of the valley. After riding it a few miles, I notice the chain rattling and rode it back. They claim it is normal and I shouldn't cross-chain, limiting the already limited number of gears. To their credit, they looked over it and taught me a little about shifting since I have not had a nice bike before and really know nothing about them. That is definitely a good thing and I am grateful they spent time helping me out. I rode it further and it was completely wrong, too heavy of a frame and the super wide tires made pedaling on asphalt extremely difficult so they let me exchange it for a bike I found on their website that looked exactly like what I wanted - somehow it was difficult for them to figure it out, this is a lightweight flat handle 'commuter' bike - and they let me exchange it but acted like I was putting them out. Mind you, the bike I am now getting is twice as expensive. It did have significantly better components than the gravel bike. They did not have it in stock but the south hill store did and it took them almost 15 minutes over multiple calls from two employees to verify it. Their inventory system seems to be lacking. They asked me if I wanted to pick it up, I could not because I don't have a way of getting it home so they said no problem, they can ship it to the store and should be there in two days. Three days later, I call and ask about it. She claims that it just arrived today and needs to be assembled. Seriously??? I was supposed to take a disassembled bike home? Seven days after ordering it I get a call that it is finally ready. So I go straight in and it takes them almost 30 minutes to ring it up and no one was in front of me in line. I ask about getting it fitted and they actually did a good job at it. I rode it home and wow, it is terrific. Just exactly what I was asking for when I first went in. I needed to go back to get a bike stand since these bikes inexplicably do not have a kickstand and they acted like I was a kid when I asked about it. So I grab one that has a tag because I thought at least this sale will go fast. Ha! 20 minutes later, again with no one in front of me, I walk out with the paid for stand. At least the stand was 'free' since they give $10 store credit for every $200 spent. The bike is absolutely perfect, plus the fact they took time to help me learn more about the bike - which are the only reasons I gave them three stars. If you know exactly what you want, just order it online, pick it up and skip the bad sales advice. Too be clear, the advice was not poor because they were being deceptive or trying to scam me out of money and it is possible I was not clear enough to be able to let them make good recommendations but two sale people completely got it wrong. They did get it wrong but was pointed to one of the cheapest bikes in the store and it was not a bad bike, it just wasn't a good fit for my medical needs and usage. Free tip: I have ridden the centennial trail from Couer D'alene in one direction and Riverfront park in the other and nowhere on the trail between these points is there significant gravel. It is paved trail and road. PS: This new bike can use all of the gears without the chain rattling. So much for it being normal for these bikes to rattle when cross-chaining or near it. read more

AWESOME BIKE SHOP! I recently purchased a Santa Cruz MTB from these guys. It was a great experience. Price: They charged me only exactly the price for the bike. They didn't tack on shipping, or a "build fee"... just here's the bike, at the price it's supposed to be! Selection: They had a great selection of the add-ons I wanted (e.g. bars, and pedals from Deity, and bash guard + chain guide from e*Thirteen)... actually they didn't have the e*Thirteen part in stock, but they matched the price I found online - and ordered the part in for me. Staff: Josh was the guy I dealt with mostly. He was super friendly, knew his stuff, and was happy to explain stuff. Since I hadn't been riding for like 10 years, it was really nice to not feel like a moron asking questions about stuff that'd changed (disk brakes, thru axles... etc) Conclusion: all in all it was a great experience, with down-to-earth people. The service is phenominal.... I had never been in here until recently when a regular from Forza Coffee down the street got his only mode of transportation stolen while grocery shopping at Safeway. (This man has been on disability and dialysis for 7 yrs. The bike is his only form of joy as well) Upon hearing this I started a "go fund me" campaign to raise the needed money for a replacement. The barristas donated their tips for a day and word spread. Within a week we had the money and decided to go to Wheel Sport . I shared the story and asked for a discount which they gave thus allowing for an upgrade. I relocated from Seattle 1 1/2 yrs ago.....its businesses like "Wheel Sport" that make it easy for me to say I LOVE this city. Thanks guys. read more

It's been frustrating shopping at this location. Every time I have gone in for parts I am questioned like I don't know what I am talking about. I needed disc brake pads and instead of listening to me the mechanic insisted on taking out the old ones to identify it, it looked like what I described. The when she went to install the old ones I said just put the new ones in which she said she didn't have time to do a brake job, they just did one three months ago which wasn't worth the money. She could have saved us both time if she had listened to me, it's a bicycle not a jet. read more

I'm not sure what their job position was) they could have mentioned they would get some one or that it would be a minute at least. I have Consistently had good service at Wheelsport in the past, and this recent visit was no different. I have had trouble finding a saddle that is comfortable on longer rides for my road bike, and the personalized custom fitting for saddles really helped select the right product. The staff took the time needed and explained the services offered by the store. I selected the saddle in the valley and then purchased it at the South Hill location and had similarly excellent service. The Oura Specialized saddle was priced the same as online. read more

My husband and I have been customers with Wheel Sport for the past thirty plus years. The Valley Wheel Sport has provided outstanding customer service as well as bicycle buying knowledge. Over the years, our cycling preferences have changed. My first bike was a 1980 era mountain bike, then a hybrid road bike, and now my husband and I are both on e-bikes we purchased at the Valley Wheel Sport bike shop. In the past month, we had a flat tire on the road between Liberty Lake and Spokane. A 'cycle-samaritan' stopped to help, loaded our two e-bikes into his pickup truck, and drove us to Valley Wheel Sport. Upon arrival, my flat was fixed in no time flat:) and we were able to ride home to Liberty Lake. But before heading out the door, Mark made sure everything was shifting smoothly and checked the brakes. We had only had the e-bikes two months but he wanted to make sure everything was working as it should. Today I was trying to change out the seat on my e-bike and could not get the bolt removed. I phoned the shop and they said to bring it in. The bolt was stripped so I went to Ace Hardware to find a replacement and returned to the shop to change the seat.out. Again, the brakes were checked, adjustments made to the seat and bike fit before heading out the door. A bike shop must be many things: knowledgable about their products, provide excellent service, helpful staff, and quick turnaround. after visiting many bike shops in Spokane and the valley I decided to purchase from Wheel Sport on the South Hill. Today's bikes are decidedly different than 20 years ago, the last time I made a purchase, Gary and Jim treated me with respect, even though I felt like a real dummy, and patiently went over the different models. Wow! how they have changed! We picked out a bike and off I went for a test ride. It was so much fun I nearly wanted to ride off into the sunset if you get my drift. I purchased the Specialized bike, a new helmet, and the rest of the gear Gary suggested that would make riding more fun and safer! I took my wife's Cannondale Rush in to have the seals replaced in the front shocks before our trip to Moab. The dampeners needed replacing and could only be done by shipping them back to Fox with a repair backlog of two to three months. I decided to purchase a pair of RockShocks to avoid having to cancel our vacation. The shop ordered the new shocks with an overnight delivery so we could leave as scheduled. The shippers had some kind of a problem and were a day late on the delivery. I can't say enough about the terrific way the guys in the shop went the extra mile to help us with our delema. They had the bike stripped down and ready to install the new shocks the minute they arrived. They kept us posted on the new delivery time and had the bike ready to ride by the time we arrive at the shop. They got the shipping cost, $60, rescinded and didn't charge me a dime for their labor. Tim and Justin are the kind of employees every retailer should have behind the counter, they treated me like I was their best friend and I had never met them before.
