I have always adore Spokes, but this was my first time at this location from their original. I love how spacious and bright this place is. Plenty of room to sit, chat, work, and enjoy. The staff was super nice. I saw they had a peep matcha that's perfect for Easter and it was so delicious. I also had their sausage burrito And it was fresh, hot, and tasty. It cost me $16 for all of it. Would come again next quarter.

On a work trip to Kansas City, and we continued to find wonderful little food spots! Love that KC has such a great food scene! Stopped into Spokes for breakfast, and loved it! I got a cold chai latte with oat milk and a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. The bacon is thick cut, and the biscuit is legit. Perfect start to my day. It's also a fun little shop, with a nod to the Spokes babe with bicycles all over. Service was fast and friendly. Easy to grab and go or sit and enjoy - either way, it's a great vibe and shop! Highly recommend!

Barista made me the most perfect iced latte!! I asked for extra caramel and she delivered! Not only that the pastries looked so good I had to try the raspberry/lemon muffin and it was the perfect treat after lunch! The establishment is so bright and open, it makes it so welcoming and invites you to stay for a while! I could imagine getting some reading done here during lunch break with a great coffee!

The staff were fantastic and took care of me in record time. The latter was fantastic! The chips were the right level of spice. But let's talk about this BLT, OMG the bacon was freshly cooked and just delicious as hell. The toasted bread made it an elevated experience while I sat at the counter and captured all of the deliciousness in my mouth.

Do. Not. Sleep. On. The. Waffle. So good. Great breakfast sandwiches too. Cute interior, bicycle themed in a large space with different types of seating (high tops, regular tables, low comfy chairs). Quick service. Would definitely return! They use Messenger coffee.

Charming local coffee shop (the doesn't serve decaf, beware for the caffeine adverse like me) that has two downtown locations and tons of affordable breakfast options. I have given a go almost everything one can order on the menu, with each of the prices being around or under $10. The breakfast burritos are some of my top picks, even the vegetarian potato one is seasoned well and sometimes to choose it over the meat options. But, do know ahead of time there are no substations for the burritos, so you can't be picky! That's not why I ranked it a four out of five...that's just because of my personal preference of being able to consume decaffeinated coffee or expresso at a coffee shop setting and not having to rely on the bland k-cups at home. Back to the food, the avacado toast isn't too fancy, and I admire that. It is the right amount of fresh and salty, from the cheese, and the ingredients aren't over complicated. The breakfast sandwich has 3 iterations, and in my opinion, it's worth the upcharge for a butter crossaint instead of basic bread. Spokes isn't your run of the mill hipster coffee shop it's a tad bit industrial inside, at least at the location near 9 round boxing gym and is loosely bike themed. But, it's not in your face. It remains subtle, with just a few collectors' bikes on display on the wall. I find myself stopping by often for the food because the value is there, and the taste has always been fresh. It's a great way to start your day and support local!

My girlfriend just moved to an apartment on this block, and that's dangerous because I am going to be here constantly for breakfast sandwiches now. You order at the counter (not too be confused with the bike repair counter in the back of the cafe - hence the name Spokes). If you're dining in, they bring the food to your table after asking your name at the register. You can also get your food in a to-go bag. The food came out hot, fast, and delicious. The liege waffle in the waffle sandwich was to die for and added some great chewy crunchy texture to the sandwich. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. My girlfriend's southwest burrito was filling and delicious as well. If you order online, your food & drink are set on a little shelf right inside the door on the left wall. Super convenient for pick up! There seemed to be plenty of street parking around on the 12th street and the surrounding blocks. The spots right in front of the door were both conveniently open the whole time we were there for people to pull up and grab their to go orders, so parking shouldn't be too hard. Can't wait to shuffle over here for breakfast sandwiches every Saturday and Sunday for the foreseeable future! And now I know where to bring my bike if it ever breaks.

Spokes is part casual breakfast / lunch spot, part bike store and... a completely cool and laid back neighborhood hang out. The menu features quick and easy meals like breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, lunch sandwiches and wraps. Coffee, energy drinks, soda and adult beverages are available, too. They're served fairly quickly by a cheerful and helpful employee. I'm not a biker, but it looks like they sell biking supplies and possibly schedule repairs. I recommend calling or visiting the venue's website for more information. Off street parking is available, though it's limited, so you may have to walk a little after you park. A little exercise never hurt anybody, though.

We visited on a Saturday and there was a lot of space to study. The service was phenomenal for a coffee shop and the baristas were super nice. I ordered the BLT and it was perfectly toasted and buttered. It also came with Zapp's chips which are my absolute favorite. There are a lot of food options to choose from--- for both breakfast and lunch!

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. It's a true local spot, and I wouldn't mind giving it another chance to try something different from the menu.

It's an a super old building and I would classify it as a dive bar. Street parking is available. They do have bar seat, some indoor seating, and a fairly large outdoor patio area. Everything was clean and the service was excellent and everyone was friendly. They offer beer, wine, and soft drinks. I stuck with beer because they have Guinness on tap and I won't pass that up. Prices for drinks are extremely reasonable. The sandwiches are fantastic. I went with Bob's Italian sub: salami, ham, turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion, American and provolone cheese, dressing, on a steamed Italian roll. I opt for double the meat which made the sandwich a whopping 10 ounces. Did I need to double it? No, but I like a giant sandwich and I have no regrets. The sandwich itself was delicious, I liked the combination and I would definitely order it again and highly recommend it. With the double meat the price was $12.95. All of the prices were well under what you normally see and is a welcome reprieve from $20 burgers and sandwiches without sides. They offer regular deli type sides but I went for a bag of pickles because who doesn't love a bag of pickles? They have other sandwich options including vegetarian and build your own. Definitely worth stopping in to have a Sammy and a brew. I'll be going back for sure!

You seated yourself and there were a couple of people at the bar and maybe a few people at another table inside when we arrived. The woman from the bar took shortly after we sat down. I originally ordered the Muffaletta and was excited to try it since I moved here from NOLA a couple of years back but it's pre-made and the bread can't be toasted which is my preference so I changed to the KC Rueben which is $12.95 for the sandwich with no side. I chose not to add a side for extra cost. I also requested it with no 100O island dressing because I do not like it. It was good. The burnt ends were flavorful and I like that the slaw is vinegar based and not overly sweet. It can on tasted deli sz bread cut in half. I wasn't very hungry so I only ate half and saved the other half. It is not a great sandwich to save because it was not great as a leftover. Too squishy. There's not a large amount of burnt ends and with a small tip and tax (I just got water), I spent about $17. I think I will probably try something else next time. It was phenomenal. It's stacked with mortadella, salami, provolone, ham, and Swiss cheese, topped perfectly with a red wine vinaigrette chopped olive salad, all sitting on a beautifully toasted seeded loaf. One of my friends ordered the #20 Reuben, and it was a masterpiece. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu corned beef, legit sauerkraut from Brooklyn, house-made Russian dressing, and melty Swiss, all piled high between two buttery, toasted slices of marble rye bread. Naturally, I also grabbed a couple of their homemade chocolate chip cookies, and we got a raspberry and blueberry tiramisu that was absolutely terrific. The options this place offers is appetizing. I really wanted 3 different sandwiches and finally settled on the Wagyu Nebraskan. The Dutch crunch bread is amazing! Now, this kind of bread is not for those with sensitive palates, meaning you might find it difficult to eat the crunchy top of the bread. You know, like when you eat dry crunchy cereal. But if you can take smaller bites, it's not as difficult to eat and it's so tasty! I'm a big fan. The meat was plentiful, the cheese was good, and the sauce was delicious. I enjoyed the sauerkraut as well. The sandwich just works really well together. I got a churro cookie and wow, that thing was amazing. I enjoyed every single bite and crumb of that big chewy delicious cookie. I need more cookie. And more sandwich. This place is yummy. And the location is just FUN!

This Bay Boy is a small window located inside The Commons which is connected to Cinderblock Brewery but, don't be fooled by its small stature it still carries the full menu of the West Plaza location. The one thing it boasts is you can grab a brew from with The Commons bar or from Cinderblock while your sandwich is crafted. And don't fret because these sandwiches are well worth any wait they may take! What makes Bay Boy utterly unforgettable is the Dutch crunch bread. This unique crackly slightly crunchy but still, oh so pillowy soft bread is the perfect vessel to hold all the fillings of any of the sandwiches on the extensive menu. My number one recommendation sadly is not always on the menu but if you catch it you better order it! It is called The Blue Blaze and it consists of juicy white meat turkey, peppery arugula, melty mild white cheddar and locally sourced spicy blueberry jam. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a kick. Another winner is the Wagyu Nebraskan if you want a bougie take on a Rueben. The Wagyu corned beef is locally sourced and is melt in your mouth paired with a slightly sweet kraut, nutty Swiss cheese and the tangy thousand island this sandwich is an elevated take on a classic. Another winner, well let's just face it any sandwich at Bay Boy is a winner winner chicken dinner (in the words of the iconic Guy Fieri), but let's focus on another rift of a classic sandwich the El Jefe. This is Bay Boy's take on a Cubano but unlike its predecessor the bread isn't flat or pressed it's on a Dutch crunch roll like every sandwich on the menu. The mojo pork is buttery and fatty- in a good way- making the meat so moist that combined with salty ham, melted Swiss and zingy briny pickles makes for a killer combination. Don't forget the mustard! And how Bay Boy makes it there own is with an addition of a zesty vibrant red pepper sauce. You can't help but to love El Jefe. I could go on and on about how each sandwich is unparalleled but, I'll just bore you with one more...The Bay Boy, I couldn't cover Bay Boy's without mentioning the sandwich that the restaurant was named after (or was it the other way around) anyways it doesn't matter. The Bay Boy is a cold sandwich (unlike the other ones I mentioned which are all toasty) which may sound simple but, the medley of flavors is paired down perfection. No pile of meats just stand alone Soppressata which shouldn't need any introduction because it's the superior salami. This sandwich gets sauced down with not one, not two but four sauces that make the sandwich anything but dry. Classic mayo and mustard are alongside a creamy pungent garlic sauce and a red pepper sauce, which is a mix of cherry and banana peppers. Then produce is added for freshness, think lettuce, tomato and zippy raw red onions (my personal favorite) with pickles of course! This truly is a sandwich masterpiece.
