Head towards the West end of The Dalles and you will find a strange looking building next to BiMart and just a short jaunt from Home Depot. This is the home of Spooky's. Spooky's is a pizza restaurant that also offers sandwiches, salads, and now, pasta. You walk through the front doors and into the central area of the restaurant. In the center of the room is a sunken area with a large fireplace. There are 4 tables for couples surrounding the fireplace. Walk up to the counter to order, then move to a second counter to pick up your drinks, soups, or salads and then choose a table to sit at while you are waiting for the rest of your meal. In one adjoining room there are video games and in another room is a large TV with sports games being shown and a 3rd room is usually reserved for large groups or parties. I am not a huge pizza fan, although my husband loves the pizza. My favorite meal is the Ruben Sandwich. It is large enough you could easily split the sandwich and still be full. We have had the burgers, Philly Cheese Steak, Caesar Chicken Wraps. Soups, salads, and their Baked Ziti Pasta. It is all delicious. This is a very popular restaurant. It doesn't matter what time or day I have stopped in, this place is usually packed. It is popular for larger groups. read more

Good place for pizza, however, just tried their Sandwiches (CBLT, Cesar Chicken) and the Alamo Salad (ordered non spicy). The crispy chicken sandwich was soggy, the cesar chicken sandwich well .. It barely had any chicken on it and the little bit of chicken it had was very dry and cold, barely any cesar salat as well.. So it was more like a toasted bun with a side of Cesar chicken and with the Alamo Salat it simply got ignored that we wanted it non spicy. Very disappointed!!! read more

Simply...the local pizza joint. After a long day of trekking all over the valley doing the fruit-loop (a highway loop through the valley full of wineries)... I was just tired and my partner in crime (Bad MF) and I just wanted something simple before we headed back to the bed and breakfast. We got a beer and diet coke and a single large mushroom and sausage pizza. You order the pizza at the front and then get a number and sit at a table. The staff was great and all over the place. They were cleaning, serving pizzas, picking up plates, helping out guests...multiple staff were super sweet and it seemed like a family owned business that was also serving the community. The decorations and the Spooky character was in fact a little spooky. Dead animals and a really weird mascot...check it out. Share a story with the family...enjoy some good pizza. My daughter and I were traveling back to Washington from Portland and passed through The Dalles about lunch time. We saw the sign for Spooky's from the free way (a little too close to the sign for the adult store but luckily, my daughter didn't notice!) The building looks like an old church and has lots of parking. My daughter loved the game room and the wacky decor. We ordered a pizza to share and it was delicious! Even the "health" option here is NO option! Please!!! Don't drowned the salad in a flavorless dressing. Make a more flavorful dressing! Use less! ONE bathroom for men. One for Women. This is a large place and only ONE toilet per sex. Lastly, they serve RC cola. So if your that unique person that still drinks RC, good to you! For the 99.5% that don't. Not a good choice. I hate to rate a local business this way. Unfortunately I've tried too many times with this place and have been burned every time I come in. 3 separate occasions I've called in a Pizza, been told 15-20 minutes and it'd be ready and it wasn't. To be sure to not be pushy or in a rush I even showed up 30-40 min after placing orders only to arrive and find out the pizza wasn't even made and as a result I'd be waiting another 45 min. I will note that they offered a discount on the third occasion, but because I had my family in the car and we had ordered 45 minutes prior I refused to wait or take a discount. I don't recommend calling in orders here. Show up and eat, otherwise it's not worth the time you'll never get back. read more

I'm a local and recently decided to check out Spookeys. Two thumbs up all around except for the reason for one star. We all know how hard COVID has hit the restaurant industry. I was shocked to see people preparing, handling and serving my food while hovering over my table and talking to me with their masks around their chin. Additionally, those who seem to be in charge ignoring it while wearing their mask under their nose! This behavior is, not only one reason we are still dealing with COVID but it is harming the good businesses that are struggling to survive. I am very disappointed to see this level of negligence toward their customers. I won't be going back. read more

My favorite pizza place in The Dalles! Great for groups in an old-time favorite of the entire family. This place has lots of room with an arcade pizza and great service. Every time I come to the Dow's and we have to have a family get-together this is the place that I would recommend. They never disappoint and their services is spectacular. All you really need to know about this place are two simple words - TACO PIZZA. There is no taco pizza in the land that compares to Spooky's taco pizza. What is taco pizza you might be asking? Well - it's all the ingredients of a taco on pizza crust (duh!) And it is, without a doubt, one of the most remarkable creations to ever grace the world of pizza. Seriously though, I have tried taco pizza at multiple other places and it really never is as good as Spooky's. But, all the other pizza here is pretty delicious as well. I almost always get the taco, but I have tasted a few others and I have never been disappointed. They have some pretty on-point salads as well. I would highly recommend the Alamo (southwestern style). It is giant and mouthwatering. There are always super great beers on tap here (Fresh Squeezed IPA seems to be a regular on tap and that makes my heart and belly smile). Last night I tried their own Blood Orange IPA ("they're" as in Spooky's). It was actually really tasty! I am not sure how or where they make it, but if it is a glimpse of more beers to come.... sign me up! This place is also very kid friendly and sports fan friendly. Only one really big TV, but it sits in a large room with lots of tables so it is easy to find a seat to watch your game. There are arcade type games to keeps the little tots entertained. There are also a couple large rooms that groups can rent out for private events and birthday parties. That seems to be a popular idea here. There is almost always some sort of private party happening when I have been in. Bottom line - get your butt in there and get some taco pizza! read more

Upon bringing it to their attention they acted confused and basically said that alert wasn't correct. I've never had an issue with my account alerting false transactions.
