I get there and tell them the order and they start making it when I get there, not when I place the order. I then have to wait another 5-10 minutes in the parking lot for my food. This time I got my food and it was only 1/2 way full. When I walked up to the counter I saw about 8 containers of fresh, uncut strawberries. Almost like she hated her job and didn't want to be there. There was almost no açaí in my bowl. I paid 17.00 for nothing but a bowl of fruit and Nutella. I should not be able to see almost nothing but toppings AT THE BOTTOM, you should be able to see a good bit of açaí. I use to like coming here but now they give you almost no açaí, they clearly aren't big on customer service and charge way to much to not be doing either and this has been like this for months. The fact that the last few reviews are 1 star saying the same thing should mean something. This location needs to do better. There are açaí places near by. I was very dissapointed with the amount of fruit that was minimized with small rations in a $15 Heart throb that I have been buying for years and now the owner decides to use tea spoon amounts of fruit and weighted acai and granola. This was disheartening to see that the once loved açaí bowl that I would go buy has been reduced down to amount of fruit and weighted açaí and the price has stayed the same. So folks I'm a regular customer and I never complain, but this , this is completely inconsiderate for what you're paying especially for non organic fruits that cost this owner Pennie's. On 9/6 one of my coworkers came back from her lunch break with a bowl from this location and I was immediately APPALLED by the portion they had given her. To best describe it think of a scoop of ice cream. Basically like a half circle. They had given a scoop and a HALF of açaí. And the reason I knew is because the scoop wasn't even flatten you could literally tell someone just scooped it up and put it in there. There was a big amount of granola and fruits but even with that they couldn't even give her half the bowls size with food in it. I was immediately taken aback and she had told me she paid $15. I told her if she didn't say anything I would and that's what I had to do because she was scared to which is understandable. So I went over during my break and because I was going to need something to eat I decided to order a dj queen bee. After I ordered I told the girl (she had braces and painted nails I think) that my coworker had been here 10 minutes before and had gotten a really concerning amount of food and she immediately said "oh yeah we are weighing our portions now" as if she knew exactly what bowl I was talking about. She then proceeded to tell me that "there's nothing we can do but if you write a review I'm sure management will see it and maybe change it." I was immediately taken aback AGAINN because I work in the area and never in a million years would I have responded that way! There was another boy and girl there and the boy came by and said something but i don't remember what he said. We love the acai bowls here! Although they are pricey they are better than Rico's and less expensive as well! Lots of toppings to choose. The service isn't great but it isn't terrible either. This location is a food truck in the parking lot so there isn't an "ambiance" per say! There is a bench close to the truck where you can enjoy your bowl. One recommendation, ladies, try to be a little more friendly and warm! It goes a long way for tips! read more

It may be getting cold but I can always eat an Açaí bowl. I was needing a pick me up after taking my pup to the vet and placed a mobile order at Spoons. I ordered my favorite bowl the New Moon bowl. I absolutely love this bowl. It's seems like a pretty wild combination but all the flavors work well together. The activated charcoal and bee pollen are my favorite part. When I arrived the bowl was in a shiny foil to help it stay cool. The contents hadn't melted at all. My mom devoured half of the bowl while I was driving. I was able to finish it at our next stop once the bowl had melted some. I prefer it melted. The taste, service and product were all satisfactory. I have been visiting this location for the past mth & 1/2. The majority of the time, there are not so friendly staff working. You're made to feel as if it's a bother. I can vouch for Henry, he is friendly & attentive! I visited today, got home & was instantly DISAPPOINTED!!! (I live less than 5 mins away) My boyfriend's bowl was NOT up to par. (See photos attached) My bowl was skimped on the granola, his was skimped on açaí & granola. His granola was pure shake. If they were low or out of ingredients, I should've been told before making the order. These bowls are too expensive to receive LESS product. Spoons is just ok. I mean, it's ridiculously expensive. Ridiculously. I have had it twice and split it both times with someone because I didn't feel like paying full price for such a tiny bowl. The bowls are pretty good depending on which one you choose. You can kind of mix and match stuff that you like. I suggest always adding peanut butter, because it's delicious. All the bowls taste amazing; the pre-built Favorite and Functional bowls are wonderfully curated to fill your mouth with tons of flavor. You can also build your own starting at just $7 - add a fruit and a spread and you're out the door for $9. Before I tell you why Spoons is different than the competitors I've tried in Charlotte, I must admit I first heard of and had an açaí bowl in Maui in 2015, well before the fad made it to the east coast and I thought I should open a franchise because this stuff is amazing. I never did. But thankfully Spoons did it for me. What makes Spoons different is three fold: 1. Fresh fruit 2. Best granola and 3. Best açaí. 1. Fresh fruit - most of Spoons competition in Charlotte do a good job at this, but I've not found anyone that is doing this component better than Spoons. 2. Best granola - unlike a lot of their competitors, Spoons granola is a proper oats that doesn't taste like a cereal but a legit trail mix granola. 3. Best Açaí - this is the key differentiator for Spoons. The most recognizable açaí vendor in Charlotte located at South Park and also on Pecan has watered down açaí that tastes like a frozen concoction rather than a whole berry. Spoons tastes like the actual pure açaí berry smashed into smooth tasty goodness. The final analysis? Don't drive past Cotswold without stopping in. Wow very nice refreshing bowl. It's located on the edge of Cotswold shopping center closest to the Wells Fargo and ihop. The staff was super nice and waited as I contemplated the menu. I ordered the "New Moon" which Included: banana, açaí, granola, activated charcoal (it showed on my teeth so make sure to drink some water to wash all the particles down), bee pollen, blackberries, blueberries, coconut shreds, maqui (speed up your metabolism), and noni (protein). I have had countless amounts of bowls from here and truly love every single one! The fruit is always fresh and everything in between is so good! The owner Laura is one of the most kind hearted people I've ever met! They fill the bowls more then most places will too! They love when people photograph the bowls so they are always on point. Spoons has THE best açaí bowls in Charlotte, hands down. I am disappointed every time I try one of these trendy smoothie shops and get a watered down bowl with soggy oatmeal and barely any fruit.
