New Moon - light banana, no honey- where is the açaí?

I've been going to Spoons for years, it's always been my favorite açaí spot in CLT. I ordered New Moon, as I usually do, but this time it was everything but an açaí bowl. It had chunks of banana and had barely any açaí. I basically ended up eating a dry bowl of bananas, blackberries and granola. If I patronize Spoons in the future, I'll take the drive to South End location.

DISAPPOINTED ! Do not go here for your açaí bowls. For starters, the girl who took my order today and the time before (same girl) had horrible customer service. Almost like she hated her job and didn't want to be there. There was almost no açaí in my bowl. I paid 17.00 for nothing but a bowl of fruit and Nutella. I should not be able to see almost nothing but toppings AT THE BOTTOM, you should be able to see a good bit of açaí. I use to like coming here but now they give you almost no açaí, they clearly aren't big on customer service and charge way to much to not be doing either and this has been like this for months. The fact that the last few reviews are 1 star saying the same thing should mean something. This location needs to do better. There are açaí places near by. You're better off trying one of those.

I was very dissapointed with the amount of fruit that was minimized with small rations in a $15 Heart throb that I have been buying for years and now the owner decides to use tea spoon amounts of fruit and weighted acai and granola. This was disheartening to see that the once loved açaí bowl that I would go buy has been reduced down to amount of fruit and weighted açaí and the price has stayed the same. So folks I'm a regular customer and I never complain, but this , this is completely inconsiderate for what you're paying especially for non organic fruits that cost this owner Pennie's. I'm for second chances . So hopefully they can reconsider and make sure they are providing substantially more fruit for what we are paying.

On 9/6 one of my coworkers came back from her lunch break with a bowl from this location and I was immediately APPALLED by the portion they had given her. To best describe it think of a scoop of ice cream. Basically like a half circle. They had given a scoop and a HALF of açaí. And the reason I knew is because the scoop wasn't even flatten you could literally tell someone just scooped it up and put it in there. There was a big amount of granola and fruits but even with that they couldn't even give her half the bowls size with food in it. I was immediately taken aback and she had told me she paid $15. I told her if she didn't say anything I would and that's what I had to do because she was scared to which is understandable. So I went over during my break and because I was going to need something to eat I decided to order a dj queen bee. After I ordered I told the girl (she had braces and painted nails I think) that my coworker had been here 10 minutes before and had gotten a really concerning amount of food and she immediately said "oh yeah we are weighing our portions now" as if she knew exactly what bowl I was talking about. She then proceeded to tell me that "there's nothing we can do but if you write a review I'm sure management will see it and maybe change it." I was immediately taken aback AGAINN because I work in the area and never in a million years would I have responded that way! There was another boy and girl there and the boy came by and said something but i don't remember what he said. When I got my bowl I was appalled once again because when the person prior to me got their order they have a bowl filled to the top. Down below are the pictures of the bowl they gave me. Moral of the story. Not going back. This is my review that the girl basically told me to make.

It may be getting cold but I can always eat an Açaí bowl. I was needing a pick me up after taking my pup to the vet and placed a mobile order at Spoons. I ordered my favorite bowl the New Moon bowl. I absolutely love this bowl. It's seems like a pretty wild combination but all the flavors work well together. The activated charcoal and bee pollen are my favorite part. When I arrived the bowl was in a shiny foil to help it stay cool. The contents hadn't melted at all. My mom devoured half of the bowl while I was driving. I was able to finish it at our next stop once the bowl had melted some. I prefer it melted. The taste, service and product were all satisfactory. I will definitely be back and perhaps will try another bowl combination. Spoons 282 S Sharon Amity Rd Charlotte, NC 28211 Sunday December 13, 2020

In front of the microwave is my bf's bowl. Photos w/ the charger cord in the photo is my bowl. Receipt is pictured.

I have been visiting this location for the past mth & 1/2. The majority of the time, there are not so friendly staff working. You're made to feel as if it's a bother. I can vouch for Henry, he is friendly & attentive! I visited today, got home & was instantly DISAPPOINTED!!! (I live less than 5 mins away) My boyfriend's bowl was NOT up to par. (See photos attached) My bowl was skimped on the granola, his was skimped on açaí & granola. His granola was pure shake. If they were low or out of ingredients, I should've been told before making the order. These bowls are too expensive to receive LESS product. I'd really like the owner/management or someone to reach out & correct this! It's unacceptable!! I've been to the S. Blvd location twice & they are very much up to par. I'd hate to have to continue my business over there, when this location is basically right around the corner from my home.

If I'm paying close to $20 for an Acai bowl I would hope it's not soup when it's handed to me.

I looooooveeew acai bowls and spoons is a favorite of mine! I always get the same thing (I can't help it I'm obsessed). I get the berries treasure with almond butter. I might venture out and try something new soon. One thing I like about this food truck is that it's COVID safe, you can order ahead of time and they make the bowls really fast. It is expensive, but all of the bowls have super food ingredients and are healthy, so it's always more expensive to eat healthy.

Spoons is just ok. I mean, it's ridiculously expensive. Ridiculously. I have had it twice and split it both times with someone because I didn't feel like paying full price for such a tiny bowl. The bowls are pretty good depending on which one you choose. You can kind of mix and match stuff that you like. I suggest always adding peanut butter, because it's delicious. Sometimes there is a line, but not always. It's easy to find and convenient.

When you pay $30+ for two bowls and you ask and pay for extra foods on it, you expect it to have the extra foods in the bowl. Not here.

Pretty good açaí bowls. Lots of options. Bowls are a little small and açaí seems sweeter than most.

I just happen to be working in the area where Roaming Fork sets up on Thursdays out in Ballantyne and was able to grab some tasty lunch. The menu is varied and even has an Asian flare! I went with the recommendation of the cashier. I got the Porky Cheesy and the Truffle fries. The grill cheese had a good crunch and a good amount of filling. I love anytime you mix bbq pork and cheese and this didn't disappoint. The truffle fries get squirted with truffle oil after they come out the grease and have an amazing aroma. I liked the flavor but I love fries with a condiment so I felt like the fries could have used some ranch dipping sauce. The menu has a lot of items I would like to try. Hopefully I'm back in the area where they are located and can give them another try soon. Roaming Fork Thursday October 24, 2019 1pm

These folks may not give you forks, but they know what they're doing! Service has always been friendly and helpful, despite how busy the line can get. The cubanos are amazing - I've gotten the original and also the BBQuban. The OG is super solid, but OMG that BBQ one is just delectable and a great texture. Trust me. Try it. They also have the best yucca fries I've probably ever had. My issue with most yucca fries is that the texture tends to be pretty tough, but these are so soft inside - like they mashed the yucca first and then formed the fries. I don't know what magic they use, but they're incredible, and you must get some. We also got a churro filled with dulce de leche, and it came out nice and hot with lots of cinnamon sugar coating. I didn't love the dulce de leche filling for some reason - maybe I got spoiled by spending time in Argentina - so next time I'll likely go for the regular churro.

I follow these guys on Twitter and was always hoping they'd camp out in the Southpark area one day to draw a lunch crowd. To no avail, I was forced to wait until this weekend! Happy to find these guys at Small Bar in the NC Music Factory for PBR Fest. Churning out pizza and wings for the beer crowd. I had heard multiple cheers of praise and glory about this truck's pizza and wings. I was even a little intimidated approaching the order window. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with describing all of the menu items. We ended up getting two slices of cheese, a slice of the buffalo chicken and 5 Carolina Buffalo wings. We sat down with 24oz tallboys in hand and went to town. I was happy to say that the wings are AWESOME. Perfectly cooked, a little crispy on the outside, not dry, tender, slathered generously with amazing sauce. The Carolina Buffalo is a winner. Mustard-based bbq with a plethora of buffalo sauce thrown in. My taste buds were happy. Uhh...they need to make a Carolina Buffalo pizza. (No brainer, yeah?) The only thing that sank my happy sailing dinner experience was the pizza. A little lackluster and the sauce was a bit reminiscent of box pizza from the frozen section in the grocery store. Maybe our slices had been sitting out for a bit, but didn't have the freshest of textures. I did appreciate the crust and enjoyed sopping up the remainder of the wing sauce with them. I can't say that the pizza was banging on all cylinders or a culinary breakthrough, but is definitely reliable. The combo of wings and pizza in one meal from the street, though? Baller status. Grab a tallboy and it's all over. Foodtruck heaven. So happy to have finally tried these guys out and can't wait to see them at Chowdown Uptown in the near future! Carolina Buffalo Pizza, guys!
