I give this place 5 stars and we are going to put a happy little yum right here and a happy little yum over here and another right about here! The other 5 star reviews were not lying! We started off with drinks. I got a lychee bubble something or other which was over the top sweet and had popping boba in it. Very pretty, but for me, just too sweet. Next time I will try something else. Then we had the spicy bok choy kimchi salad, it was very tasty, spicy but not too spicy. The dressing had heat but it also had a lot of flavor. I would order it again. Next came the tofu bun which they thoughtfully cut in 1/2. The tofu bun was just so (chefs kiss) perfect. I loved it and if anyone asks me what food I could live off of for the rest of my life, this would be it! Honestly, If I could have a meal of just these, I would and I might! I also got the veg japchae, it was delicious. Slippery noodles + metal chopsticks made eating it a little awkward but I survived. The restaurant got crowded so either come on the early side or make a reservation but if you are on the fence about trying this place, I'll give you a shove over to YES. The atmosphere, decor, ambiance, music, service, and food is all top notch and this restaurant is definitely deserving of five stars!! Everything was really delicious but my favorite was the soft shell crab bun!! I can't wait to go back and try more menu items!! The sliced beef bun was so incredibly flavorful but is not served hot, so just be aware that it will be room temperature or even a little cool; the flavor and juxtaposition of consistencies are perfect. The dumplings were also really delicious and perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with yummy ingredients inside, although I don't remember exactly what now. What an awesome gem located in the heart of Massapequa! The food in incredible, it's a Korean restaurant with Japanese ramen, that will make your mouth and belly happy! They have legit drinks, that you should try all made to Order, the food is super fresh and delicious. The moment you walk in, your nose is invited to awesomeness. The atmosphere is 90's baby who doesn't love that. The music just brings you back while you chow down on an awesome food trip. My only issue is, the bar seats are uncomfortable as all heck. Found this new Korean Japanese spot on Long Island while searching on Yelp. Ordered some takeout items to try - spicy miso ramen, shio ramen, Busan sprout bibimbap, and soy garlic wings. Overall, the food was good and flavorful even after driving about 30 minutes home. The spicy miso ramen was rich and flavorful - also super spicy so if you can't handle the spice I'd probably recommend another option or maybe ask to get it less spicy. Soy garlic wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside - the sauce was a little bit on the sweeter side though. The only qualm that we had was with the Shio Ramen broth. When we went to pour the broth into a pot to reheat we found a critter in it - a bit unsanitary. We wound up not using the broth and just poured the leftover spicy miso broth into the Shio ramen bowl. Overall, I'd go back to dine in and try some of the other items on the menu. Edit on 6/5/21: I definitely have to give Spoonsticks a star back. The customer service is top notch! They saw my review and comments on what we found in the broth last night and they reached out to me to and gave me a credit back (which was definitely unexpected). There are so many places out there that wouldn't even bat an eye and just say ok so? I'll definitely be back to try some other menu items! read more

I have eaten here a number of times both take out and in restaurant. I love eating in more than ordering takeout and the food is delicious! Love the variety of soju and even tried a bunch of their cocktails. My favorite dish would be the spicy pork bibimbap and cheese tteokbokki! Also highly recommend the L.A. I have either ordered or dined in for three days in a row now. The food is absolutely delicious! I've been dying to get good authentic Korean food on Long Island, but the closest I could get was to H Mart in Jericho. Spoonsticks is absolutely delicious and I'm so mad that I'm moving to Boston next week but this will definitely be my dinner spot for the next 7 days! Since you're wondering... Let me start by saying that I got take out so my review is based on that.. I order the soy garlic chicken wings and the ramen. After a quick google search I discovered that this specific ramen is supposed to be spicy so I expected the heat and was sort of disappointed when it wasn't that spicy. I added mushrooms and spicy bok choy. I did not like the mushrooms, the flavor was overpowering and too sweet. the ground chicken was...different but I didn't hate it. I liked the chicken wings but have had better. Maybe it didn't travel well. There was really good flavor though. Overall I thought everything was good. Looking forward to trying again read more

I'm always happy to dine at restaurant where there is a friendly staff. Spoonsticks definitely did not fail short on that. Staff was incredibly friendly and willing to explain anything if you were unsure. The restaurant was very clean and had nice decor. We ordered the pork ManDoo which were delicious and crispy. We also got the shio ramen and miso ramen both were rich and filling. I think the shio was a little better. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star rating was that it doesn't come with a soft boiled egg. Most places add that in already and it's honestly my favorite topping. Get the Korean fried chicken!!! Honestly, it's been so long since I've had KFC, but Spoonsticks makes a really good one. Even delivered, they're still cooked perfectly! We got half garlic soy, and half spicy, and both were equally good. Also got some pan fried pork mandoo dumplings, which were also delicious. Rounded it all out with some bibimbap (shredded beef and shredded pork ones). Sure, it's not the same as the sitdown experience, but the egg was still runny, and the sauce was delicious. Was excited to finally find a Korean restaurant in Long Island so of course I had to give it a try. My friends from Brooklyn came to visit me and we shared a bunch of everything. We had the soy garlic wings which were absolutely amazing, we had ordered 3 orders because we couldn't get enough. We shared the bulgolgi and the Galbi. The Galbi was pretty good but I must say the bulgolgi was very disappointing. We also ordered the chicken broth based ramen and the pork broth based ramen, both were decent. The price is average for Korean food but I'm not sure it was exactly worth it besides the wings. read more

We came here for a family birthday dinner. The food was delicious! We got the seafood pancake and soy garlic wings to start. Rice dishes come with soup of the day, but needs to be requested. I didn't get a photo of everyone's food, but no complaints at the table. We made a reservation at 6:30pm on a Sunday evening, but this small restaurant was full of guests so we did have to wait a bit. It's a small dining room, which isn't an issue but with covid, it does limit seating room. Would come back to try the ramen on my next visit! read more

I am not usually one to leave unpleasant reviews, but my meal here last night was quite uncomfortable. I visited their menu online earlier in the day and was very surprised to see all the green "v" symbols next to so many dishes. I realize now that I should not have assumed the dishes to be vegan. The symbol on their menu meant vegetarian, and that it could contain eggs or dairy. So... when our server came for our order, my friend asked them to confirm that the dishes we were wanting to choose were vegan. This is where the uncomfortableness came in. The server did not know what the word "vegan" meant, and she was unsure of which dishes were vegan. Okay. I think everyone in the hospitality industry should know what "vegan" means at this point in time, but that's a whole other issue... The server excused herself from our table to go ask someone for assistant and get more clarification on which dishes were vegan. I could hear her asking the kitchen "do we have vegan food?"... and soon another person came to our table to tell us that the dishes we were interested in weren't vegan. Still, no one was really able to tell us which dishes WERE vegan. Eventually they told us three dishes on the menu were vegan: the agedashi tofu appetizer, the tofu bibimbap, and the vegetable ramen. I do believe there are more vegan dishes on their menu (like edamame, salads, etc) but that's all that they told us. So that's all we ordered. Had they truly taken the time to find out which dishes were vegan, we would have been able to order much more food and they could have made more money for the business as well as tip for themselves. I don't think people realize that. At the end of the day, it was just quite frustrating that they did not seem to care about getting the correct information to the customer. They barely checked on us at all throughout the meal other than when they were taking plates away. I also think it's worth adding that we were literally the only people in the restaurant so it's not like they were extremely busy and couldn't take the time to find the correct answers for us. Very disappointing. I do not think I will come back to this restaurant. read more

For dinner I got the spicy pork bibimbap it was unreal. So delicious they mix all the ingredients right in front of you great texture great flavor. Been here several times and the ramen never disappoints. The best I've had on Long Island and very close to the best ones I've had in the city. Super flavorful broth, chewy noodles and tender pork. Also had the fried chicken with fries today and they were so good. Fried perfectly with lots of flavor. Only downside is the super small parking lot (literally 3 cars) but you can park on the side street. So happy there's a place I can get my ramen fix in so close by. read more

First time ordered online from Spoonsticks! The process was very easy but the only thing I would say -- they need to add a remove item button. I don't eat corn so I wasn't able to remove it from the selection BUT after placing the order online I called and they wrote it in so it worked out! The woman who I spoke to was very nice and made sure the order was perfect before hanging up. I Ordered take out for 6 people! It was A LOT of food. The food was absolutely fantastic ! We all got a variation of the miso ramen & pork buns. The porn buns were so flavorful and every person who got one loved em! They give you a great portion of the ramen and the beef & pork are so so so delicious. I personally liked the beef but both were great. I was very curious about this Korean place in Massapequa. They don't call this town MassaPIZZA because of diversity of cuisines but the food scene has definitely been changing the past few years so I had high hopes. Unfortunately those hopes were not totally justified. I went here with my husband and daughter so we were able to order a few dishes. We started with the fried pork mandu (dumplings) and haemul pajeon (seafood pancake). The dumplings were ok but the pancake was tiny compared to what you get in Queens or K-town places: there was hardly any seafood too. For main, we ordered Tteok Bokki, bulgogi bibimbap and Jjao chae. The bibimbap and jjap chae were ok but the tteok bokki was just ok, mostly because it had so few rice cakes. Very disappointing! That being said, the prices were way too high for what you are getting and also for what you are not getting, which are all of the side dishes (banchan) that we usually get for free at most Korean restaurants. For desserts, we got vanilla mochi and ho tteok. The mochi was pretty good but ho tteok was not that tasty. Overall just an ok experience. Not sure we will be coming back because while it is an easier drive to come to Massapequa than Queens, we get more bang for the buck. read more

We really enjoyed our dining experience at Spoonsticks. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our whole meal. We started with the Korean Fried Chicken Wings which were delicious. Another favorite was the soft shell crab bun. It was packed with flavor. I would recommended those two appetizers! We also ordered the potato cheese dog and the maan du dumplings. Also good. For our entrees my husband chose the LA Galbi which was nice and tender. I chose the Cheese TteokBokki. It was my first time trying this dish and I was super impressed! As a ramen connoisseur, I can truthfully say this spot is amazing. The menu is stocked with an infinite amount of options. I really enjoyed their pork buns, garlic soy wings and the ramen. My friend and I wanted it spicy and they didn't play around. They offer some sort of sauce that you can build upon according to your comfort level. We thought we were cute and used the whole thing...never again . They mean it when they say it's spicy. They were kind enough offer us more broth to help us out Lmaoo.
