I was a bit nervous about visiting during the pandemic but everyone inside was pretty good about wearing masks. The only stressful part was not knowing where to park. It would have been nice if I could have parked a little farther away from the doors but not sure if the bigger nearby lot was still officially part of the service center. Back at the Honda service center in Richfield, MN we could pull up to the garage doors and someone would greet and check you in but this place seemed smaller so it's understandable that that option wasn't available. I brought a copy of some of the extended warranties I purchased at the MN Honda dealer before moving to MD. Initially I wasn't sure if they would still be honored but happy that the associate at the counter was happy to scan them and add it to my file. After dropping off my car they did the promised A1 services before the end of the day and called me when it was ready. I asked about some cosmetic dings on my bumper and they didn't try to unnecessarily up-sell any services. Overall pretty pleased! Also a big fan of the online scheduling system. It was easy to book and modify the appointment beforehand. read more

It was ready within 7 hours of dropping it off, I was shuttled to my house at no charge instead of waiting, and Juan, the service advisor, was helpful and friendly. I've been having my car serviced here since I bought it in 2018. I will not be returning. I made an online appointment for 9:15 on a Saturday for an A1 service, which is basically an oil change and inspection, very standard stuff. I arrived maybe five minutes early. The staff got things off to an odd start when it took two people just to get the car checked in, both having to get inside it. I have no idea why. There seemed to be some confusion because I made the appointment online. Also oddly, despite me having been there several times in the past, including buying the car there, I had to re-enter my address and phone into their system. Why? I've never had to do that before. Once that was completed, I asked how long it would take. I was told, "60-90 minutes, two hours tops!" The consultant texted me a URL that would supposedly allow me to check the status of the work, but it was not updated at all till near the end of the work, and even now, over 24 hours later, shows it as "Final Touches in Progress", still not complete. Why even provide that service if they're not going to update it? About 75 minutes after it was checked in, I texted the consultant to ask the status. He told me another 30-35 minutes. That still put it within the "two hours tops" I was quoted, but distinctly outside "60-90 minutes". About thirty minutes later, the consultant claimed I needed new front and rear brake rotors. I find that very hard to believe. My car has 30K miles on it, which is the bare minimum for new brakes, out of a range of 30-70K. I have had zero indication I need new brakes -- no warning lights, no squeal that is designed to say "time for new brakes", no issues braking. nothing. While I have yet to take it elsewhere for a second opinion, I have asked mechanically minded friends who agreed that's very early for new brakes, and that the quoted price of roughly $1100 is very high, too. When the consultant asked if I wanted to replace the brakes immediately (a warning sign in and of itself) and I said I just wanted to get home, he said he'd add a discount coupon to the bill for the trouble. It was for all of ten bucks. Gee, thanks. Total time: two hours and fifteen minutes, after I was gleefully told, "two hours, tops!" This is not my first bad experience, though it was the most egregious. Previously. for a similar service, I had a tire pressure warning light come on less than twenty miles of driving, after they checked the tire pressure! Also, they did not complete a software upgrade properly, as indicated by the in-dash display. I had to take it back, and I was the one who figured out how to do it, not the consultant (a different one than the occasion that prompted this review). A bungled check in, a failed time estimate, a link to a status update that's not at all accurate, and a very questionable claim of an urgent need for repair. I won't be going here again, and neither should anyone else. UPDATE: I took the same vehicle in for some minor recall work today. Of course I went ti a different dealership. They did an inspection as part of the work. I asked if the brakes needed work, and he said they were fine. I explained another dealership had said they needed to be replaced, and he was amazed they said that. He asked which dealership it was, and I said "Sport". Sport Honda can go to blazes. The manager contacted me when I first posted this; he or any other representative does *not* have permission to contact me again. read more

My beloved Civic had an altercation with a trash toter left in the traffic lane, and I was able to get my local mechanic to do a great job replacing the damaged passenger side mirror, but neither he nor another dealer service shop was able to restore the Honda Sensing suite (lane keeping, adaptive cruise control and so on). I was very concerned when that other DEALER didn't seem to know what was being requested - the indicator lights on the dash were flashing red, for heaven's sake! I had originally bought the car from Sport, and had a great buying experience - I would recommend their showroom and sales staff! And now I can also say I trust and would recommend their service technicians. The shop did what was needed, the cost was reasonable, and the car wash was exceptionally nicely done - they left no dust, no paper floor protectors, no smears on mirrors or windows. Really quality service. It took little more than maybe a day and I got an email that my Civic was ready, and it was great to be able to use those safety features on the beltway in typical traffic on the way home. The service here is really great. It's best to make an appointment so that you know you will have your car serviced. The most popular days are Mondays and Tuesdays. If you are lucky you can walk in your car and not wait for too long. The front service staff is really great and will keep you updated on your vehicle from start to finish. They will make sure to ask for permission before performing a larger repair if they find an issue in a routine service check. They offer drop off appointments and can drive you in their shuttle (dependent on if they are not already driving someone else). Since the shop is close to the Silver Spring Metro Station, about a 15 minute walk, it's convenient to drop off your car and pick it up within business hours. They also offer after hour pickup as long as you have a spare key to your vehicle. Would recommend to get your Honda vehicle serviced here as they have the parts, or can get them within 24-hours to complete repairs. read more

I only take my baby (07 Accord Coupe) to this place! I've been going to them for regular maintenance two years plus now. Why? - Simple: 1) Super Convenient Right near silver spring metro (aka free parking for a day when I drop off in the morning before work) 2) Good Service The guys are nice and always call to give me updates about the car. If I can't make it back before they close, I pay over the phone and pick up the car with my spare when I can. They've waited when I'm running late (610) for me to pick up. If I don't have a coupon, they find one for me (what dealer does that??) 3) Prices Pretty comparable with other places & they have coupons and specials regularly. If I can get my baby taken care of my people who know her parts best for the same price as say the jokes at Pep Boys, why not?? ..and it must be said, they don't try to take advantage of me because I'm a chick. Even though I know more about cars than anyone would imagine, they've never once tried to come up with some cockamamie service that I don't need. Whooo golly it was the most expensive Honda service I've had and I've only gone to Honda dealerships since this car and my 2010 Honda Civic. Also, I've had these type of services already given my car is a 2012 model. I found out later that I was over charged. So, my comparative foundation is evident. Please don't. DO NOT GO HERE! They rip you off. I will start by saying I do not know much about cars, so I am a prime target for getting ripped off and Sports Honda did just that. My mom always told me to take it to a Honda service center (we all have Hondas) since they know how to service it properly. I recently moved to the area so I did not think twice and found the closest Honda service center. I scheduled a tune up and the guy at the counter tells me I do not have an appointment and the lady at the receptionist desk walks over and corrects him. He sold me the "B1" service and an oil change. Long story short I take my car in to an auto body repair shop and they tell me I got ripped off. This was not a tune up, it was merely to top off fluids. They also charged me $150 for replacing an air filter, which now I know is ridiculous. They also charged me to hook my car up to the computer to tell me which TPMS readers were broken...and could not tell me which ones and to "bring it back" when the light comes on. Mind you, the light randomly comes on. When I took it to the other auto body repair shop, they hooked my car up within five minutes (for free) and easily read which ones were broken. Do not take your car here. They are not helpful. The chubby white guy that writes the services up is rude and does not know what he is talking about or does he care. read more

We bought both our cars from Sport Honda and started going to the East-West Hwy location for service because it's closer to home. Never any trouble getting an appointment, and always a great experience. Today we brought our Odyssey in, ran a quick errand and went to brunch (all within walking distance) and got a call that our car was ready exactly when they said it would be! I was tired of the long drive to their service center and then waiting endlessly (or needing a ride back to the Metro). So I switched to the Sport Honda Service Center on East-West Highway in Silver Spring, which has shops to waste time in and is walking distance to the metro. I love the guys at Sport Honda Service Center. Not only are they friendly and knowledgeable, they won't force you to get thing you don't need. I have a 2000 Civic that I don't have the heart to part with yet because it's been so good to me throughout the years. In appreciation for it getting me through high school, undergrad, and now med school and before our trek out to Hawaii, I decided that it was time to show the old Civ some love with a dealer-serviced maintenance package. Also I lost the security code for my radio and I needed them to pull the stereo for the serial number in order to get the code. Although I had to drop a pretty penny, it was worth it. I received excellent service and it was quick and conveninent being in downtown Silver Spring (right down the street from the SS metro stop!) Plus if you're active duty military you can get 15% off service. Even if you aren't military, you can most likely find some coupon or another on their website. So why only 4 stars? Well, I realized after the fact that they fixed the radio by inputting the security code, but that I never got what that security code or serial number was for future reference. Minus 2 stars because it took me 4 different phone calls with no callbacks to finally get it. 1 star back because Don there was really nice and apologetic about the inconvenience.. read more

I spoke with a women who took my contact info and said they'd order the parts and call me back to schedule once the required parts were received. I never got a call back. I tried calling them twice and left messages about the repairs, but got no response from those calls either. I have been taking my Honda Element to Sport Honda Service Center for more than 2 years. I can probably get the same service done somewhere else for cheaper, but I wouldn't think about going anywhere else. I trust the team at Sport Honda and know they are not going to pull one over on me. They always thoroughly explain what they are going to do before they start and then explain what they did before I pay. Additionally, when they call to tell you your car is ready they give a great rundown about the condition of your vehicle. About 18 months ago I got in an accident on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend as I was trying to get out of town to visit family. Chuck and the crew were helpful, friendly and caring. The first thing they asked when I brought in my car was if I was okay! They hooked me up with a rental car within an hour and my weekend was saved. And of course they got my car fixed quickly and for an affordable price. They made a stressful time a whole lot less stressful. I am hoping to use my Honda for a very long time and I know that if I continue going to Sport Honda I will be able to keeping driving this car for many years to come. read more

First time it was ok. Then I came back for a recall. I brought it in and it was 3 hours instead of 1 or 1.5 because someone didn't show up for work. Not my problem. I couldn't wait so I made another appt for the next week, was told I'll be in and out since it was the first appt of the day. Arrived for appt on time, an hour later, my car still hasn't been taken in to the shop yet. I understand I have to wait sometimes, but why have me make an appt. I thought appts reserve your spot. Not coming back, 2 bad experiences in a row. Update: in and out in 2 hours. Not bad, very professional staff and management. Was a little annoyed about not getting car serviced right away given that I had an appt, but waiting is part of life. I just wish they would explain the appointment process a little better. read more

We had a very unique and obscure issue with a computer system in our CRV that multiple other shops were unable to solve (or were able to solve at a ridiculous price). I brought my car in today to be serviced. I purchased my vehicle just one week ago and heard a rumbling noise when I breaked immediately after my purchase. I decided to see if it would go away for a couple days and it did not so yesterday I called to see if I could make an appointment for today. I spoke with the service manager Don who was was super friendly on the telephone. He made me an appointment for early the next morning (today). When I arrived at the dealer I was met by Chuck who also was super friendly and kind. My car was finished within 2 hours and I sat and waited and used the free wi-fi and drank coffee. It was great. While sitting there enjoying my coffee I overheard a lot of conversation in the waiting room. The service manager, Don was so respectful and helpful to all the customers. Chuck also impressed me with his friendliness. Never before have I been to a Honda service center that treated their customers so well. Kudos to you all! Don and Chuck did what they could to work with customers to provide discounts if they could. They explained in detail the issues customers were having with their cars. I really appreciated the time they took with each customer and how it felt like "family" in there. Even though I live in Fort Washington, I do plan on driving the extra distance to have my car serviced here. read more

Sport Honda Service Center refused to perform an alternator repair that was under warranty unless we agreed to do other unrelated work for $1,500 that, in their words, was "absolutely necessary to determine the cause of the failure and for the car to be able to drive." Fortunately for me in this case, I had asked a friend who is a licensed mechanic to look at the car before sending it to Sport Honda, and he was able to call them out on this nonsense. I went back to Sport Honda and tried to reason with them and ask that they simply replace the alternator under the warranty, but they adamantly refused and demanded the money for the other work. That they did so with belligerence and callous indifference to the facts made the experience that much worse. Without any other option, I had our car towed (at my expense, of course) to another shop that diagnosed the problem immediately and replaced the alternator. This shop did none of the other work that Sport Honda insisted was "necessary" to make the car run. The car worked fine after getting the new alternator and I drove it myself off the lot and back home. Because the other shop was not Honda authorized, I had to pay for the repair myself even though it was under warranty. So a repair that should have cost me $0 had run me $500, plus the extra tow for $75, all because of Sport Honda's greed. Sport Honda obviously tried to squeeze us for bogus repairs so they could get cash up front in order to avoid doing the warranty repair work that requires them to seek reimbursement from Honda HQ. We were repeat customers of Sport Honda who live nearby and otherwise would have been natural long time customers, so this experience was extraordinarily disappointing, although not terribly surprising given previous interactions with them that involved poor customer service. If you do intend on using this place, for some unknown reason, be very much on your guard. read more

Honda Junk. As the original owner of a 2008 Honda Civic that was never involved in any collisions and meticulously had car serviced for all routine maintenance at Honda dealership where I purchased car, I will never buy Honda again. According to Honda, I paid over $9,000 over the years for routine maintenance. At 117,000 miles, the engine block cracked and antifreeze leaked out. Engine block crack is a known defect in Honda Civics like mine and warranty was extended to 10 years from purchase date. Honda Dealership service quoted me $8,000 to repair Honda's engine defect, although car is only worth $4,000. I expected a Honda Civic to last longer than 117k miles but the car is essentially totaled. 10 year extended warranty expires around the time the engine block cracks. How convenient for Honda. Honda should have issued a recall for their known defect in their engines but instead, decided to screw over the vehicle owners. Greedy American Honda Corporation offered me a $250 Honda credit which I declined. In my opinion and based on my experience, Honda is JUNK. Thanks Sport Honda for selling this junk to me. No more Hondas.. Toyota all the way from now on. read more

Have a 2001 Honda Civic. Didn't need any maintenance until last year when various parts finally started wearing out. This is one of the best service centers I have ever used. They are friendly, fair priced, and extremely knowledgeable. One of the best aspects of their service is they will tell you what repairs should be made and what repairs NEED to be made. I have been able to space out the various repairs over time. Also they are crazy fast. Everything gets done in a day. They always have coupons on their site too. read more

Been taking my complex problems here at this nice dealership. I know they're expensive but you get what you paid for if you shopped around and did your research. These techs are more experienced than the ones you get from small Mom-n-Pop places and they are honest about their services as well as recommending you the right parts for your auto needs. I can't say I've complained. Looper Servicenter have their ass kicked sky high. My car was inoperable while I droved it around for an hour and it got to be so dangerous on a merging lane on 270 S that I pulled over and got it towed to Sport Honda. Either the techs are frickin lazy and/or inexperienced. I don't like when I'm promised it's driveable when the problems are apparent. THEY LAUGHED AT ME ON THE PHONE AND SAID I'M IMAGINING THINGS. Yes this is what they said on the phone! When I called back to give them constructive criticism, instead they kept saying it was fine and that I'm making things up. I've gaved them 1 star. Sport Honda techs are serious as their staff can be with their customers. It's not badly priced like the other dealerships $104/hr. They are very thorough with their services and are not pushy should you want repairs with them or any other repair shop. Their response, "It's understandable." Drive safe. Be safe! read more

I've been bouncing from place to place trying to find a service center I trust, don't feel totally ripped off at, and don't get totally talked down to . So, several reasons why I love this place: 1) Super friendly! Holy cow. I actually get the impression that they like their jobs, which makes getting service done a little less painful. 2) So it may be more expensive than a non-Honda service center. But when they quote me on a service, they actually pull out the binder or pull up the prices on the computer screen. It's a little thing, but it makes me feel like they're not making up numbers on the spot. (And their coupons help too!) 3) I actually don't feel like I'm talked into unnecessary services. The last time I talked to someone elsewhere about getting a new tire, he basically refused to do it unless I bought 4 (which I know I should do with AWD, but it's so painful if 3 are still good!) Here, the person who was writing me up didn't pressure me to change my mind when I said I just wanted 2 tires (and knew it wasn't recommended :) ) 4) Brought my car in for an emergency tire replacement (and to get my brakes redone since they needed it anyways). Turns out while they were changing the tires other problems were found, but Don was in constant contact with me (even called me from his personal cell phone when their phones/computers were knocked out after a storm). 5) Everytime I have an appointment (and even that one time when I didn't), I was helped ASAP...unlike at other local dealerships where I have the first appointment of the morning and I'm there for 3 hours for an oil change/alignment. Hasn't happened to me here! The only issue I've had is that they accidentally gave me the wrong service once, but when I realized it, they performed the original service I asked for and didn't charge for labor. Wasn't too big a deal since I'd need both services eventually! read more

Disorganized. Last time I went, they forgot I made an appointment and turned me away but only agreed to service me after I showed my confirmation email. Most recently, I tried making an online appointment, but it required a confirmation email. I never received the email, of course. So, I called to confirm my appointment, and the rude operator just insisted "We ALWAYS send confirmation emails," rather than try to help me. From that moment on, I was done as a customer forever. I think the service itself is mostly fine (which is why I did not rate this 1 star) but it's overpriced and not worth the hassle of dealing with people who lose your appointment slot, hire front staff who don't care, or take on too many customers per day to actually give stellar, tailored service. Bottom line: They don't really care about you the customer. They just want your money. There are better service centers in Silver Spring. Go to them instead. Even the Sport Honda on Automobile Blvd, although overpriced, is a much smoother operation. read more

I was charged $100 bucks, yet they could not fix or diagnose the problem. I discovered en route that my break lights were out. I brought it in and was told I'd get the car back same day. This turned into 3 days because they were "backed up" with people waiting in the lobby for their repairs; my car was low priority because I dropped it off. On day 3, they finally did the initial diagnoses and learned the problem was not simple and said they'd have to keep the car 2-3 more days. I was there for the holiday and needed to get home, so this was impossible. Yet I had to pay $100. I was told that if "I'd just let them keep it longer they could figure out the issue" thereby making it "not a waste"...but since this was impossible for me, it was my problem not theirs. I've been to other dealerships and rec'd MUCH better service before. I'd avoid this one, if at all possible. read more

Then we went to the Honda service center and a guy named Marvin fixed it in 10 min and would not except pay. He was great. Everybody their was so nice.
