Came here for my boys tournament, the facilitie is quite large with lots of space for parking. There are multiple fields when you get here which appeared to all be well maintained and taken care of. There's different facilities for batting and pitching available on site. There's a nice sports store when you get there that you could go in and buy some miscellaneous items like belts or gloves or pants if you were to forget them or something gets damaged while playing, you can also buy T-shirts, hoodie, sweatshirts, and another type of souvenirs while you're there, the staff are friendly and inviting to the kids and the parents overall it was just a good experience. Fourth year here. The nickel and diming is out of control. They started charging for parking and as a result it took 20 minutes just to get into the facility and traffic was backed up miles down there road. The fields are still in terrible shape, scoreboards don't work and there is only ump per game and games delayed by late umps. The facility was bought last year with promises to make it better. Instead it costs more and the experience is somehow even worse. Been to many tournament complexes and this one is the worst. read more

My son had a tournament this weekend at SATB (sports at the beach) and it was an absolute crap show from start to finish. We paid over $600 for an entry fee then had to turn around and pay $65 for weekend parking. We were told it would be close to $40 for the weekend total but that turned out to be a lie. The staff will herd you in like cattle to make sure they get every penny. Huge rocks on the fields that coaches had to throw out for safety concerns. We had ONE umpire for a 7 team tournament- to no fault of his own he missed many calls that he didn't have the angle on and was honest about it. The only time there was 2 umps was championship time. The bathrooms were dark and gross with no toilet paper or soap. The concession stand charges you an arm and a leg for EVERYTHING and the apparel shop was a joke. Cheap made items that easily come apart. Do yourself a favor... if you get the chance to come to this joke of a complex DON'T! read more

The owners of this complex and people who run the events need to consider putting some serious money into this place. The entire complex needs painted, the hardscaping and brickwork needs addressed, the weeds need to be picked out of the sand, the fields all seem to need some type of repairs. read more

It kills me to give just 1 star but in the particular case, I have absolutely no other choice. I've been coaching for 22 years and we do big tournaments every year. This year, not only did we decide to do Sports at the Beach but decided to rent their dorms for the team and sleep on site. They advertise they have a pool...... but it was closed. Horrible as the boys were dying to go in especially after a hot day of baseball. You would think the price would reflect that but nope. We played about $1400 for a two day tournament and the fields were absolutely unacceptable. For a venue charging what they charge AND charging every person $7 a day to enter, they should be completely ashamed of themselves. Every field we played on, the pitcher's mound was a complete mess. To the point that it was borderline unsafe for the pitcher's landing for. On one field, centerfield had this massive dirt patch right in the middle of the outfield. We're a team that likes to do different venues every year and I can honestly say this was a one and done for us. read more

A great location on the Eastern Shore! However, this park is NOT kept up! Baselines are not drawn out on all the fields. Not all fly ball areas are marked and one kid got hit in the head. There was a terrible storm the night before the playoffs. There were water puddles everywhere the next morning, including in the fields. And the medium they used to take care of the wet fields is the cheap stuff that really doesn't work. One of our guys fell into a bad hole that was mud on the baseline between 3rd and home. He rolled his ankle and obviously got out! We spend so much on this tournament that we shouldn't have these issues. On top of that, nobody was taking pictures or videos for the older kids! read more

Just finished a 12u tournament and was beyond disappointed with this business. There are things closed due to covid (mainly the pool), yet they still charge full price for parking ($7/person/day each day of the tournament, except Sunday, players in uniform and kids under 12 get in for free). The scoreboards were not utilized for any games except the championship game (the 7th game over 3 days). There was trash piled up everywhere, trashcans overflowing at each field, and although there were plenty of trashcans around, no one seemed to empty them so it looked like a dump midway through the day. The fields were full of bare patches of grass, poorly maintained, were not relined in between games so it made foul balls very hard to call for the umps. The bathrooms were also not maintained, often found empty soap dispensers, toilet paper all over, dirt and messes in the stalls and sinks. And while they offer a "consolation bracket" for the bottom half of the teams, there were no medals for the champions. I do not believe in participation medals for all, but why bother having a consolation bracket complete with a championship game if there is nothing for the champions? Disappointing after the boys played and won BIG, yet it goes along with the disappointing weekend at the field. This was our community team's LAST tournament together, after having been together since 7u, and we changed plans to come here once Cooperstown fell through. We had heard great things about this location, but what we saw this weekend could clearly not be what others experienced in the past. read more

So to start the tournament we played on a field with a big slanted divet around 3rd base. FYI there was also only 1 ump for a $1200 dollar tournament. The bathrooms were also horrendous and completely disgusting. Then the third game which I'm watching right now has major wholes in the field and the ground crew isn't even on the premise of the property yet so we have to wait 30min. To start the tournament, our first field had a huge diver at third and the outfield was disgusting. The bathrooms where gross and I where not cleaned. There was only one umpire for our first team and he had to stand behind the pitchers mound. We paid 1200 dollars for 1 umpire Behring the mound. He said it was to hot and he had to stand behind the mound. Our third game the pitchers mound had a huge hole and we had to wait 30 minutes for a grounds crew to come. Complete dump. Batting cages are just dirt, no turf or rubber matt so the footing is terrible. The fields are close together and foul balls go flying everywhere. Coaches and Parents Be Aware!!! Tournament: Summer Fling. Three days tournament with "guaranteed" 5 games. That is a big, fat lie. Friday we did our two games. Saturday we played one inning. The rain came in hard leading to a delay. At first we were told the games would pick back up at 2 when the radar looked clear. Within an hour they CANCELED all games. This was unacceptable!!! The facility has lights. The games SHOULD HAVE been played. The issue seemed to be lack of people working. We were also told the swimming pool wouldn't be open until some time in July!! When questioned, it was overheard a manager telling a staff member to "Just tell them the health department isn't allowing us to open". The real reason? No lifeguard. Archery wasn't open either. Same reason. We went into the semi finals with only 2 games and one inning played. Only one ump was provided. Not OK!! No one took a single action photo during our semi final game either. Everything promised was not provided. For such a nice facility, I was extremely disappointed in their service provided. Pick another place to have a tournament. read more

Was excited for the tournament where there was some good competition, but this facility is absolutely horrendous. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The fields are terrible, not maintained at all, and the whole complex is a huge dust ball. As if the facility could not care less about the conditions since it already draws the crowd. And I'll add that the registration per team was $1000. The question is what the H do they do with all the money (between all age groups, there must have been at least 50 teams). After our games we went back to the hotel washed our hands and faces and the water was brown. The field is literally as bad as the sandlot, no Exaggeration! The grass is so dead and choppy, as if it was not watered in years, balls were taking terrible hops, and the batters box is a sand pit, etc., felt bad for the catchers. There was no maintenance in between games other than a raking the field which only caused more dust. After every slide spectators were blasted with dust (HORRENDOUS). From a kids perspective, it's old school sand lot baseball. The fields often weren't lined, the score boards were not working or there wasn't staff to use them. From an adults perspective, this place left a lot to be desired when compared to Sportsforce or Ripken for the same price point. The bathrooms were likely not cleaned in over a week, the concession stands did not have the food as indicated on the menu, the fields are so close that foul balls are dropping all over. Over all, the place looked run down. The kids had fun, but it would be great to see them improve, considering there are facilities out there that are much better for the same price. read more

The fields were an absolute mess a kid trip in a hole in left and rolled his ankle. another kid went to field a ground ball in the outfield and it skipped over his head because there was a big hole in centerfield and that gave up two runs. I want to start by saying my son has been playing travel baseball for 5 years now and we have had many different experiences at a highly competitive travel level of baseball. I am not one to typically complain and can fully understanding how various factors contribute to changes and decisions made during tournaments. We have played three consecutive years at Sports at the Beach, and unfortunately each experience was not the most desirable. However, this year trumped the worst experience thus far. Each year, weather has had a factor in our games, we've atleast has one full day of ball cancelled for what could have been maintained fields given the amount of money they charge for the tournament and daily admission into the parking lot. Not to mention the amount of money you have to pay in lodging to be relatively close to the complex. The experience definitely wasn't worth the expense. This year, our first day, we had late draw times (3:30 and 6pm). A storm came through during the middle of our first game and then our second game was cancelled also. The following day (mind you, there was no rain, just wet fields from the day before) was entirely cancelled and all games were recorded as a tie...so that now was 4 out of 6 scheduled games for seeding that we had not even been able to play ONE complete game. A very unfair disadvantage to our boys to not be able to compete for the 1st or 2nd seed, in fact, we didn't even have a chance despite winning the only two full games we got to play on Saturday. I was highly disappointment in the condition of the fields, we played a whole day Saturday on a unlined field. So what exactly was being handled during that Friday of cancelled ball and no storms? Our coach fought for our boys by reaching out to the tournament director and requesting a make up game for the first night, as all other teams were able to complete their first two games, but there was no effort in trying to get one field ready to make that happen. And then he proceeded to change the tournament rules on the website during the MIDDLE of our tournament, to justify how things were handled....how unfair! Unfortunately, this past experience was enough for us to make a unanimous team decision to not enter into another Sports at the Beach tournament. I'm not writing this review to tell you not to attempt your own experience, but I just want to be honest about what you can expect and give you a true review on MY experience. Had I seen a review such as this, I might have saved myself $1500, between travel and game expenses. read more

This place was probably really great 15 years ago but now it's dated and needs some work. It's a massive complex with several fields. The fields were in rough condition; holes in the outfield, lips in the infield, pitching mounds need to be redone, batter's eye is ripped and blowing in the wind, fences are beat up. None of the scoreboards were in use. The bathrooms were gross and should be attended to more often throughout the day. All of the flags throughout the complex were faded and/or torn. We didn't mind paying the $7 per person daily fee. Although it would be nice to see some of that money be put back into the fields, there are likely other large expenses such as insurance etc. Snack stand prices were reasonable and the coffee and hot chocolate were both surprisingly good. read more

If i could give negative stars, I would. Let's start with the fields. They are unsafe. I have never seen so many rolls, pot holes, gullies, lips and horrible mounds. They obviously don't put any of the $7/person entry fee or tourney fees back into the fields. They should be ashamed of the filed conditions. Facilities are in a word gross. Women's bathrooms had standing "water" and filth everywhere. Men's rooms were not as bad if you coukd hold your breath for your entire trip. $7 entry fee every day is just ridiculous. Greedy. Location - you ar a good 30 minutes from the beach so false advertising for sure. Our team has a chance to win the 15/16 tourney this week, but a big part of me wishes our semis game is the end so we can get out of this place. Never again! read more

Fields were terrible. Not maintained, unsafe, etc. multiple concession stands which repeatedly ran out of items, and the food was all fried and the cheese fries nearly made me vomit. Only one of the fields had lights and was never used in the night. The umpires for our last game were terrible. They called nothing correctly (pitches nearly hit some of the batters and it was called a strike. Along with some in the dirt being called a strike.) Twice today they called the game in the middle of kids hitting. The umpire of our last game was a football ref who was hired for a completely different sport he had no experience with at all. He walked away after the game and said "How do they expect me to call correctly when I can't even see the ball?" because of the dark. Awful experience and we will never go back again. read more

I don't worry much about the amenities at a baseball tournament, but the field conditions are atrocious. Fields are not maintained outside of grass cutting. Every field has lips of at least 8 inches all around the infield. For the fees charged and the entrance fees per person, I would expect something nicer. read more

This place is a dump. I wish I had seen the reviews prior to making the trip. I know they can't control this well but beware Canadian geese everywhere along with the loads of poop they leave behind. Score boards don't work! 5 games played not a single working scoreboard on the fields we played on. At One of our games, one of the umpires suffered a medical emergency- over heated or dehydration. Ended up having to leave by golf cart. No EMT personnel that I a could see. NO back up umpires. Left with only one ump calling the whole game. Fields are not well maintained- infield grass lacking. Dusty hot and dirty. Concessions running out of breakfast sandwiches by 9 am. Ran out of chicken sandwiches by 11. Smelled like trash. Bathrooms dirty at 8 am - uncleared from day before. $20 per person buys admission for each individual for 3 days- a one dollar savings off daily admission rate. I calculated at minimum they are making $600 per team just in parking fees. This is on top of price to register a team for a tournament. I could go on but will just stop here. It's a shame because the general area has lots to do and see for the time you are not at this complex. Just a heads up to those thinking of playing here. Beware. read more

Cannot believe that after what they charge for the tournaments, they charge the parents to get in. $7 per person, per day of the tournament- so after you pay for the tournament, travel, hotel, food all weekend- they whack mom and dad an extra $14 a day to come watch. Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Not really anywhere local to stay- most lodgings are about half an hour's drive. Nothing exciting in the area- despite the moniker, you're still half an hour from the beach. Complex itself is a little shabby- grass sucks, seating and viewing is so so. Doesn't even have WiFi- which would frankly make me feel a little better about the ridiculous gate fees. All in all- I'd rather stay home and do a local tournament. *Edit to add: They talk up the pool on their website- but even though the complex is open and games are being played 8:00 am - 9:00 pm, the pool is only open 11:00 - 6:00. They make people drive hours to get to their field just to cancel the game once they get there knowing heavy rain was coming in. The umpire just walk off of the field leave us in the rain just to be notified via email it was canceled while we're still on the field. This is nothing but a money grab ran by inconsiderable people. If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely the worse travel tournament I have taken my teams to. The umpires were all atrocious and did not even care. They made zero effort. They shorten the time limit by 30 minutes and they assigned one umpire for games because of the "heat" they said they did it to give umpires a break and not to have them do back to back games. That was not the case as they had umpires do three games in a row from behind the mound. They would not allow courtesy runners for the catcher or pitchers because of house rules but again they shortened games by 30 minutes and only had one umpire. First day our field was not lined and they blamed the storm from the night before. We played with a puddle at second base. It was absolutely poorly runner and the biggest waste. They have not put any money into this place. Fields are awful and unsafe. Snack bar is awful. read more

We have been here for two weekends and the bathrooms are completely gross and dirty they need to be cleaned morning and at night. The cost to get in is ridiculous 7.00 per person per day and you can't even keep the bathrooms clean. Charge one price for the whole weekend. This place is a complete crap hole. Biggest waste of money. Plus some days we only had one umpire. The fields are in horrible conditions. There are not enough garbage cans around the complex. Just gross place. Wow. Not good. 1. Their big job is to have nice fields right? These fields sucked. Bumpy grass as far as the eye could see. Horrible hops for the kids. We have nicer rec fields in our town. I have never seen more divots on fields. All of them. How do they not put in the work to seed, fertilize, water, manage, and cut these fields properly?? Not to mention this is nowhere near the beach. 30 minutes without traffic to get to the nearest beach. Paying to get into a facility where none of their "extra" stuff is open (the pool, the bounce pillow, the archery golf, some playgrounds (if not all). It was ridiculous and greedy. Don't plan on those things for the siblings if you come. Scoreboards don't work. The tourney completely screwed up our schedule. We didn't find out about schedule changes until almost game time leaving families sitting in the heat for hours and hours. They didn't follow rules. Umps didn't know what the rules were. There were many arguments and we saw one so badly where coaches and parents were screaming at swearing at an ump and the game didn't end or get that group kicked out. It was crazy to watch and I felt bad for the teams. The bathrooms were ok. Worse as the day went on with no one cleaning them as far as I saw. I will say the concessions were good. The food was good and prices weren't outrageous. The golf cart rides for people were nice. The staff was friendly. They took pictures during the games that you could buy. read more

Sports at the beach is a decent facility but it is all about the money and very little about the parents or players. There is 1 bathroom for the entire facility and that is located 100 to 200 yards from some fields. if they considered their customers they would at least have spot a pots near the fields. It is not like they can not afford them since they charge $7.00 per person to enter the facility plus the registration fees they charge to enter the tournaments. We attended a 4-day tournament our grandsons played in and paid $56.00 in entrance fees. Umpiring was terrible and one call, in particular, was so bad I believe it was just so they could end the game and get out of the heat. read more

Played in a baseball tournament here Memorial Day weekend. Lots of fun for the family. Staff was very friendly. Some scoreboards worked others did not. Bring cash with you to pay for admission to the games. Players and children under 12 are free, but adults are $7 each. If you buy the pass you will save money for the weekend. read more

Fields are in poor shape, parkings is ridiculous, no return policy is a joke in the pro shop. The tournament is poorly run when rainouts equal ties and hurt teams who had to play more games and use more pitching very unfair when a 3-1-0 record isn't better than a 3-0-1 record due to a rainout tie. Concessions were closed before all games were finished. Batting cages were in bad shape with holes in the nets and L screens which make throwing batting practice dangerous. Also backstop and lack of screen netting makes foul balls a danger to many in complex. All in all for the complex being so expensive to eat, shop and play maybe they should start putting that money back into the fields to maintain them better. I will not return will my team and would not recommend anyone go there. many places are much better and will get my business read more

Your team pays over a thousand dollars to play and parents are still required to pay a 7.00 entrance fee per person per day. Food is over priced and the fields are in poor condition. Most attractions are closed or cost additional money. The umpires are questionable. And despite having a consolation bracket, there is no awarding that brackets winners. Seems as though they just wanted the losers to come back one more day for more money that they're clearly not investing back into the fields. Even the key chain I purchased broke within 24 hours. My child was so excited to go and we left disappointed. We'll never go back. read more

Complex has potential but is not maintained at all. Fields are not watered down and become dust bowls. Grass areas are uneven and clumpy. Garbage ia strewn about and bathrooms are not cleaned on a regular basis. Many calls were placed in our 2 weekends to address bathroom concerns. With the $7 per person entry fee, use of 1 umpire and 70 team entry fees, this site should be in phenomenal condition and it is far from it. read more

Sports at the Beach touts themselves as being a "premier facility for Youth Baseball Tournaments." In my opinion, this place is a dump. I agree with all of the reviews about the poor field conditions. I witnessed two players needing to come out of a game as a result of injuries on the field from bad hops. I've never seen so many bad hops in games, and it's easy to see why when you see the lack of maintenance on the field. These are the worst fields my son has ever played - sand pits, uneven infields, tufts of dry grass everywhere. I found virtually everything about this space and experience to be poorly executed, including the layout, the gross bathrooms, the expensive parking, and the non-working score boards. Seriously, during the first inning of our semi-final game, field maintenance drove onto the field to change the position of the pitcher's mound because the distance from home plate and the pitcher's mound was incorrect. Quite a joke. This place is at least a half-hour drive to the beach. The $7 cash per person is a money grab. Cell phone reception on the premises is abysmal. I will not be back. read more
