This used to be one of my favorite places. Lately tho this place has gone down hill. They rarely ever have enough people working the counter, so that the line backs up to as much as 10 minutes for a cup of coffee. Don't try the bake goods, because it is hit or miss if they are stale or not. Today my cinnamon roll is hard as a rock. Last week it was fine. The food from the back is usually fresh and very good, but again... you better have the time to wait. The coffee is ok... but that's always a personal choice so don't take my word for it. Visiting from out of town, we popped in for breakfast. Our food sat on the counter getting cold until we went to investigate. Asking the barista if this was ours, we received a mumbled, "I don't know, " then a cool confirmation at least a full minute later. One worker has hair down which she is constantly touching as well as touching her face, drinking coffee, and apparently doing nothing else. The men's bathroom garbage is overflowing on the floor; the dining/drinking area is chipped, dirty and it's questionable the last time the floor has been swept. I really do love Spot coffee - great food, coffee is high quality and the employees are usually very friendly (at other locations). I've had more than a few experiences with poor, rude service at this specific location. I'd suggest some lessons in customer service - a simple "I'm sorry. Your order will be up as soon as possible" goes a really long way when you're busy and in the weeds. Get with it, you guys! You're killing me! read more

Stopped here on a long road trip twice. It's just okay, but definitely better than the other options in the area which are just chains like dunkin or starbucks. They have some food options, but were out of major ingredients. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

Decided to stop in for breakfast, BAD IDEA. We placed our our pretty quickly my buddy order an omelet. I ordered the egg wrap.. We sat around for 25 minutes before the omelet came out.. Except it wasn't his omelet.. Waited an addition 15 minutes & still nothing. Out of frustration & on a schedule we decided to ask for our money back. They gave us no reasoning or apology whatsoever.. 40 minutes of my time was spent & I still walked out with an empty belly & a overpriced bottled OJ. The environment of this place is your very stereotypical coffee shop with cozy areas to sit and your usual food and drink items, however I was not impressed whatsoever. I got a cappuccino which was probably the worst cappuccino I've ever tasted and it was literally half foam. Even when I picked it up it seemed light and I was able to pretty much put my finger halfway down the cup without even touching "cappuccino". I also got a cinnamon raisin bagel, which tasted fine but it was basically just an order of cream cheese with a side of bagel. I guess it's better to have more than less but when I have to scrape half of it off it's a bit ridiculous. They do have free wifi but it's awkward to get it because you have to ask them for the password after you get your food and they give you a slip with a one time username and password. I get that most people probably just come here for the wifi and that something of that nature is necessary for them, but at least put it on the receipt you get for food versus having to do the whole "what's the wifi password" that I like to avoid at all costs. read more

Horrible service and many health code violations!!!!! This place is a disaster. They RAN OUT of silverware today and were handing out plastic utensils and the guy making food in the back actually walked out of the kitchen, gathered up a bunch of dirty dishes in the bins from the restaurant and took them back to the kitchen to presumably load the dish washer. HE NEVER CHANGED HIS GLOVES OR WASHED HIS HANDS BEFORE MAKING FOOD AGAIN. That is fucking disgusting people. The guy making your sandwich has just been handling the dirty dishes of about 50 other patrons. WHAT THE FUCK. Totally utterly disgusting. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SICK. read more

I swing thru this place often on my way to work... The coffee is good, the menu items are pricey for a coffee shop, but also pretty good. If you're going to go in here... plan to wait at least 10 minutes for your order (even for coffee) Spot initially opened with a cast of energetic and happy employees that genuinely seemed to care about their jobs - all of those employees are gone. Replaced by a cast of somber emo-types who seem indifferent at best. The restaurant is littered with a handful of oddball regulars (Excessively Long Red Shirt Guy, Eccentric Fro Hair Disco Lady, Mid-Life Crisis Promotions Dude who knows everyone) annnnd college kids (UB) during the school year. I like this place much better in the summertime - less crowded, both doors stay open to create a lovely cross-breeze/eliminating the signature aroma of grease and coffee grounds that you would normally leave with. read more

Come on! What's with the rave reviews?? I liked the atmosphere- good vibe however the food was OK- we could not finish our sandwiches because they were blah. Would have given fewer stars but 3 was bc of atmosphere/vibe comment. I asked for one egg as opposed to two or three and they were still charging the same amount. To add insult to injury the bill was $15.50 for two breakfast sandwiches that we didn't even eat half of. No waitresses/waiters and you have to clean up your mess which is fine but don't charge so much. The focaccia Bread was terrible! We ordered one white and one wheat so both tasted terrible. I really love spot. Besides the great cold brew coffee they have great food too. They have a great breakfast egg sandwich that comes with cream cheese. I'v never thought of that, it was delicious. They also have great pizzas. I never would have thought of it as a cool place to come for a pizza. I will continue to be a regular here. read more

I ordered the soup/sandwich combo and an iced tea. The tea was old and on the verge of funky tasting. I guess they only fuss with their coffees. The soup, broccoli cheddar, was decent, the sandwich not so much. Don't call what you serve a panini when all you did was put some grill marks on bread and made a sandwich with it. It's a cute spot. I like the decor and love their apple cider. I usually love their chicken feta wrap and chips, but today, the chicken just tasted kind of old. It is Sunday, so maybe it is leftover from the week. Also, the prices are rather high. My total for the wrap with a side of chips came to $10.60. read more

The espresso here is ok, but the sizes are labeled incorrectly. They have something like a large, grande and superfuckingbig (or something like that) with 16, 20 and 24 ounce written next to their respective monicers. I asked for a large latte and got a 12 ounce. Coffee and food quality are high and consistent. Unfortunately, this location does occassionally have a problem with slow service and noisy atmosphere. I'd give it an 85% if it were an exam, with questions about why the service lags on Sunday mornings and some busy evenings. read more

First of all, I would like to say, I'm so grateful to have found this place. I go here to study all the time because, let's be honest, it is a great place to relax and study. It gets pretty busy in the evening and then it quiets down after 9pm. They close at 11pm. Their hot chocolate and mocha shake is amazing. Great ambiance for meeting up with friends or just sitting and studying or reading. I only had coffee here so cannot comment on food, but coffee is OKAY, somehow tastes more acidic than others. Cappuccino is very rich and creamy, more so than the regular coffee with cream. I prefer coffees elsewhere but recommend the ambiance here. read more

I prefer this location over all the other Spot Coffee locations in Buffalo. This one is cleaner, has more variety in food and has a nice feel. It's every well lighted so I have lots of memories of doing my school assignments here. The coffee, pizza, quesadilla, everything's good! (Quesadilla is a little expensive though, don't remember the exact figure but around $8) They always have a huge selection in desserts. The tiramisu here is really nice and so is the smores bar. What I like about the tiramisu here is that it has soft layers of cake too, unlike the very creamy one you get at most places. Try the veggie cream cheese with bagel, it's fresh and very nice, one of the best you could find in a coffee shop. The desserts are made daily and the day's stock is often half price after 8 pm. Wow! Wow! Wow!!! Definitely try the London Fog latte WITH lavender. So delicious and not to earthy tasting. Also went for the Lentil soup, which were perfectly cooked and thick for a cozy day. I come here every once in a while. It's not exactly bad. I just don't get the hype. The staff seems rather rude. Or perhaps it's their idea of being trendy? I don't care for the coffee. You could get a better cup at Tim Hortons. And the pastries all taste frozen. Many great places do use frozen pastries, but the ones here often taste freezer burnt. A minor complaint I've observes in my few visits is that, like the spot on Elmwood this one seems to have sound dissipation issues. It seems rather loud most of the time. read more

I prefer indie food establishment's for a unique experience and usually better food than a chain. I asked if they used fresh eggs in a shell. Answer, "yes." I asked if I could have egg whites. Answer, "no." That is a red flag. I ordered and egg and cheese omelette with focaccia as suggested. What I got was "pretty sure" bagged egg product with no flavor, no salt, no herbs and thinly made what was called focaccia. I doctored the sub par tasteless eggs up with a side of Sysco supplied food service salsa. My sig other got the oatmeal, with frozen blueberries and strawberries, the menu did not say frozen fruit and it is the middle of the summer one would think an indie restaurant would pride themselves on at least on dish - McDonald's oatmeal is better, and cheaper.
