My friend from El Cerrito has been coming here for years and took me to eat dinner here but now a new owner has expanded the restaurant space and upgraded the ambiance. The owner greeted us and the service was top tier, friendly, fast and provided all that we asked for, which of course included some mango chutney. My friend had the Pakora dish with chickpeas and was very tasty and fresh. I had the chicken tandoori which has a Smokey tang to them and the jasmine rice and sauces were all excellent. My chicken was moist and juicy and came out steaming on a hot platter. The serving sizes were generous and the price was very reasonable. The owner offered some tasting of Free Kittens beer and it was also delicious and we ordered some. The beer selection is second to none and had my favorite oatmeal stout ! It was quiet and seating was comfortable. I had leftovers as there was so much to eat despite being hungry from moving furniture all day. The menu is expansive and the food came quickly, a definite return choice in East Bay off the beaten path.

I would come here when it's changed ownership about 3 times same theme just different owners . But…read moreoverall the quality of food is good and the staff is friendly I tried the tika masala garlic nan and overall doesn't disappoint!

I love this ' INDIAN GROCERY STORE ' in Richmond, Ca. Been…read moreshopping here for about a decade now ! It is ' Spacious ', and has a ' Large Selection of Spices, Indian herbs like ' Curry Leaves, Cilantro , Few Veggies, Pickles, Paan, and Myriad Frozen North & Soith Indian Meals !!! The Cafe, Hot Table seems to've closed ' Post Covid - 19 '. Also they sell quite an Assortment of Indian Made ' Pots & Pans / Household Goods '. They seem to have some type of ' Beauty Salon ' with Waxing for Ladies '. Staff is ' Usually Friendly '& Helpful Enough. The owner and his son worked there. Then they used to have Young Nepalese Ladies & Guys. One at the Counter, and a Floor Helper. Last Evening though I had a ' Weird Experience ' though. The ' Lady Floor Helper ' was ' Unprofessional & Highly Inappropriate in her Sales Conduct'. Not sure if they're Managers or New Owners, but the ' Turbaned Sikh Gentleman @ The Counter was Polite , Helpful & Nice. I hate to affect anybody's Business, but I couldn't reach them for ' one thing ' !!! + I have no way to reach the Owners. All in All - she was ' Sarcastic & Highly Unprofessional '. I went up to pay - having gathered my Groceries. Am usually the sort who allows Folks with ' Fewer Items to Proceed ahead of Me '. Upon reaching the Counter - I realized that I had forgotten a ' Specific Khara / Savory Indian Snack named ' Ghatiyeh ' ; the Male Cashier, The Sikh Gentleman ' was ' Very Understanding '. More Business for them Anyway !!! $$$ ... The Floor Lady - Very Rudely Commented in Hindi that ' I maybe Asleep ' !!! Lol ... Not Funny Lady !!! Am not Your Hubby, but ' Just A Shopper ', so ' Pipe Down & Do Uour Job !!! The Gentleman & Myself continued to ' Transact ' .... Although when she ' Did make the Comment - there were some ' Background Giggles' .... Was yet more ' Cynical Looks and Gestures on Her Part ' !!! Basically- A Bad Fit for The ' Retail Sales & Store Guardian Position ' !!! I bet the Young Owner , Mr. Deepak will be glad to get ' Feedback '... The Sardar Gentleman rang me up, was Polite and Attentive !!!! Tried calling them to-day to offer him some ' Honest Feedback '... They seem to have their phone ' Off The Hook ' !!!!!!

I love trying little hole in the wall type restaurants so that I can try something new and different. Nepali cuisine tickles tastebuds and when I saw Wild Boar on the menu, it was over!! I ordered and was really looking forward to trying something new. So... The food gets served and man, talk about depressing. First the portion was tiny for something costing upwards of $17. I'd be generous if there was 12oz. of food on that plate. It was basically "boar", with onions and a flair of cilantro(?). Trying to keep an open mind I pop the first piece of meat in my mouth and good grief!! Tough as nails, impossible to chew, basically hard dry jerky, Also zero sides, no salad or vegetables, just boot leather (color and texture) meat. Did I mention it was cold? Not heat lamp luke warm, just sat on the counter for 10mins cold. So... I swapped it for a hamburger. This was a standard Costco sirloin patty, std. bun, lettuce, tomato, onion. Pepper jack cheese was the upgrade, thankfully, this was served hot. Now I hate to bring up hygiene but at one point the cook walked past us and his BO followed close BEHIND and left an impression... C'mon man, it's a damn restaurant!!! C'MON MAN!!! Now... I just don't get it... In this era of cooking shows, competitions, books, podcasts and celebrities. This world where Gordon Ramsey is EVERYWHERE, how, how, HOW can you not put in some effort!! How can the Owner / Manager allow this?? It was a Friday night, the bar had about nine people at it while the restaurant had the two of us and one other diner. On a Friday night!!!! How do you even stay in business?? Listen, I hope ownership takes note and immediately does something to up their food game. I want them to succeed but if this is the best they can do... Just shut it down. Sad diner, signing off.
