I really wanted to like Spotless Cleaners due to their competitive prices. However, after experiencing some of the "surprise pricing" that some other reviewers mention on here, I was a little put off. One time, she charged me $7 extra to briefly iron a collar down that the plant had mispressed. It was the mistake of the plant and probably took her all of 30 seconds to do, but she still charged me. Most recently, I've gotten some dress pants back with creases down the front which were not how I left them. Further, I specifically told them "no creases" when I dropped them off, as I always do. This time, I told her that I wasn't happy with the service they had been providing. At that point, she became very defensive, telling me that she was too old to deal with all of these "requests". Like asking for my pants to remain crease free was torture. She started to raise her voice at me when I questioned how I could get the crease out, and pretty much told me it was my problem. At no time did she offer any sort of apology for not heeding my request when I dropped them off. I will no longer be bringing any business to Spotless Cleaners, and for those who still do, make sure you check your charges closely and question anything you think might be a "surprise charge", and don't ever expect any sort of apology or compensation if they mess anything up. In fact, I'd recommend staying away from this place entirely. read more

I brought my dress ( front part lace and back part cotton), and the front lady told me that we'll charge you for two dresses since the dress has a lace front. I have been using this cleaners for about a year and I really wanted to like them. However, in reading the reviews on Yelp, I see a pattern that I personally experienced. When things go right, the owners are very nice. When things go wrong, such as multiple pairs of dress pants with double creases, alterations that were not completed by the promise date, and having a long sweater hung on a wire hanger instead of folded (it stretched the sweater out) the owners (Son And his Mother) are completely non-chalant, and do not apologize. The Mother didn't bother to call me when she knew that my alterations were not ready and acted like my concern didn't compute with her, nor did she apologize for the delay or for the unnecessary trip I made. Both told me that double creases on the front of my pants were not noticeable and no on else has ever complained about double creases. The owner refused to redo my pants for the third time. They had a dimple/double crease from the second redo on both legs. He said he has never dealt with anyone so picky. How ridiculous! Anyone who cares about their appearance does not want to walk around with double creases on their dress pants! Yes, prices are competitive, but I would rather pay slightly more for quality service than deal with owners who cannot admit they made a mistake and act like the customer's expectations are unrealistic. The owner apologized for this last screw up and only when I told him I was taking my business elsewhere. read more

After spending $27 at "Maxwell the cleaner" in San Rafael to have 3 shirts cleaned and pressed, I decided to go on-line and find an alternative cleaner. After calling around to get prices I found that Spotless cleaners was signifigantly lower priced than all the rest, so I decided to give them a shot. When I walked in to the store I immediately felt welcome. The owners are VERY friendly and extremely nice. I had a great feeling about this place. My clothes were ready exactly when I was told they would be and the quality of service was A plus! I also had a coat repaired that I had ripped a few weeks ago.....she only charged me $8 to fix and it was done completley professional....the stitches look exactly how they did from the factory. I'm a bridesmaid needing to get my dress hemmed 2 weeks before the wedding - I don't have a tailor, so I jumped on Yelp to find the best reviewed business. I went to Spotless Cleaners with my hopes high; the owner helped me find the right length and promised it would be ready by Saturday. I asked twice to make sure it would be ready by then (5 days later) and I was assured it would be. Unable to stop by on Saturday, I showed up around 1pm today (Monday) and after handing over my ticket, I watched the owner search through the racks and come empty-handed. She couldn't even remember what the article of clothing was... My heart started pounding. She made a call (to some unknown location) and asked if they remembered my dress. (Full blown panic attack now!!!!) She got off the phone and asked if I could come back tmw, to which I said no. Still not sure whether my dress had been located or even altered yet and not wanting to risk walking down the aisle naked, I said I needed it back today. I called back around 4:45 (they close at 6:30) to check if my dress was there, and I was told told not yet, but it would be there soon, hopefully. (HOPEFULLY?!?!) I showed up and 5:30 and nervously handed over my ticket. She found the dress!!! And then dropped a bomb that I owed $30. Really??? For a simple hem? I asked if she was going to discount the price for the fact that it wasn't ready when it was promised by and the inconvenience of having to come back twice to pick it up. Nope; no apology, no discount, just "it was a mistake." Well, make no mistake, I definitely won't be coming back!! They know most of their customers on a first name basis as well as their preferences on how customers want their items cleaned. Second they always deliver on time as promised. Even if your in a pinch they will do their best to get your items back within a day if needed which is awesome! I had left some money in one of the pockets, and this was returned as well. My pants were repaired so that the tear was virtually invisible. My washer broke down two weeks ago and I could not find one that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I moved to Santa Fe, NM 7 years ago and could not find a cleaner who did anywhere close to the quality of Spotless Cleaners. So on each of my frequent trips back to California I bring my shirts with me and have them cleaned/laundered at Spotless. I am probably the longest-distance customer that they have. I've only been here once, and as a result, I will not be going back. I brought in a dress to be cleaned and pointed out two spots that needed attention. When I returned for the dress, there were three spots on the front that I hadn't noticed before. The man helping me noticed them too, so he agreed to send it back for cleaning at no charge. A week later I return and there's still a spot on the front. This time it was a different man and he told me that the spot "wasn't that noticeable" and that he wouldn't send it back since it's been cleaned twice now. I asked him if there's anything he can do to make it right and he told me "no." Then he charged me full price, even though I didn't find the work to be satisfactory. He was adamant that they did their service and deserved full payment. I pointed out the irony of the name "spotless" cleaners and paid the full price and now, I will never go back. read more

When I went back to pick it up, it looked like it had been stretched in a roller. The lady was annoyed that I brought in about 20 shirts at one time, and then when I picked them up I found that she had written my last name on the inside placket. Cleaners should just uses the paper tags that go through the bottom buttonhole. Between her attitude and laundry pen I won't be back (...for the record I've hated the tactic of defacing my shirts with the laundry pen ever since I let a girlfriend at the time take them to the cleaner for me and they came back with her name written in them, and now that she's an ex I hate seeing her name in my clothing). read more

My clothes always come out perfect and if there's any issues or concerns they always let me know. They are family owned and definitely dedicated as a family to running this establishment.
