Overall the guys did a nice job. I'm happy with how the sofa turned out. The price was a bit much. I was quoted $189 on the phone and when the guy arrived he said that the $189 was for a steam cleaning only. Was a bit confusing because I told the guy on the phone exactly what I needed. It ended up being $300 (shampoo/stain removal) just to clean the sofa (base only) since I had already cleaned the pillow covers. I thought that was a bit much. Can't say enough great things about the results and service. We have a white microfiber couch that we bought in July of 2013. It has seen a lot of love between oil stains, ash from candles/matches, our cat, beer, food, nail polish, etc. I recently moved in with my boyfriend and we were deciding between a new couch or cleaning this one, as we love it and it was a pricey buy. We were a little reluctant to upgrade to shampoo clean from steam clean, but we are so glad we did. The company was honest with us about the upgrade and the results, and more than willing to work with us on stretching our dollar. It's also worth throwing in additional furniture or rugs. We ended up doing shampoo clean on the couch with stain protection, and stain protection on a new white chair. The gentlemen who cleaned were efficient and kind. We had 2 stains pop up after the clean, one from the cat and another unknown, which they came back to clean. In the end, they got about 99% of the stains out and reduced the nail polish stain, purple! The couch is much brighter and we are very glad we opted to have it cleaned over buying a new couch. For the record, I was completely against paying what I consider an exorbitant amount of money to clean the couches and a rug after our move. Yes, the furniture was dirty and the rug was simply filthy...actually considered just throwing out the latter...but it seemed absurd to try and clean everything. I have to admit that after these guys went to town on the furniture, it basically looks new again. I actually didn't think it could be done and have forgotten to the true color of the couches. The rug was in our toddler's room, so had everything from paint, to food, to playdough, to dirt embedded in it. There was no way I thought they could clean it up, but there it was, looking new once they finished. In retrospect, they probably extended the useful life of the pieces by a number of years. There are probably guys who can do it for cheaper, but probably not significantly, and why would you risk not getting the best quality of service that you can. read more

Spotless NYC did a great job cleaning our couch on short notice. We are fostering a cat and the first night she was with us she peed all over our (only) couch. We called around to several places but Spotless was able to come see us that same day to take care of the stain and the smell. They were accommodating, friendly, and professional. Can it get worse? Yes, it can. I got a call from Ashley Heather, who manages customer satisfaction, and she offered me a complimentary couch, chair, and area rug cleaning. She was super sweet and very generous after I explained what happened a few weeks ago. She agreed to pick up the rug today and I could call back for the free cleaning in a few months. About fifteen minutes later, I got a call from Daniel, the office manager, who demanded to know what I told Ashley Heather and then started telling me off in regard to the estimate he provided. I was astonished and told him that he could talk to Ashley Heather about our conversation, that it was completely unprofessional to call me. I then called back and asked to speak with Ashley Heather to tell her about this, and he answered the phone and CONTINUED to mouth off. I told him I just wanted to speak to Ashley and to have her call me. When Ashley Heather called back, she didn't sound surprised to hear that I wanted nothing to do with her company. Pleasantly surprised. I needed to "revive" my sectional sofa after a long time (almost 2 years) of intensive useage bordering with abuse. I called SpotlessNYC and they offered a standard basic service but asked to inspect the sofa free of charge to determine the actual price. I read some of the previous reviews and I was wondering if they will try to upsell me as well. When they came, I was very surprised to hear, after the inspection, that my sofa was a very easy job, and that the basic cleaning would be enough. No upsell and no extras. I actually asked the guy if he is sure. He said then that he can offer some special treatments that will stain guard and make the sofa smell great... but he didn't think that those are necessary in this case. The job was done within an hour - and for the life of me, I cannot understand who the other reviewers dealt with. I had no problem whatsoever, and I hope people understand that. read more

Disappointed. They over promise and under deliver. I should have read the 17 "not recommended" reviews before clearing my work calendar for the morning. I booked an appointment 6 days in advance. They stated, in writing, "Ok. We are all set for Thursday between 9-10am (closer to 9am as possible) We will confirm on Thursday morning." They called Wednesday night saying they overbooked themselves and wanted to push it back. I told them I could not, and they said they would be there at the time they originally promised. Of course, they don't show up in the window promised. I call the company, the woman who answered assumed it was another client who was complaining and said "he is in your building" and hung up on me. Then she called back because she realized she had spoken to the wrong person. The customer service is clearly underwhelming. At 10:20 am they said 5-10 minutes, but I could not wait around to get their estimate. Overall: Not recommended and really annoyed about the lost productivity. read more

I wish you could break out ratings by performance as well as customer service. I would give Spotless 5 stars for performance and about 2 stars for customer service. I called before they opened the other morning and hung up, planning on calling back at 9. About 30 minutes later, before they opened, they called me and we scheduled an appraisal between 12 and 3 that day. The person I spoke with was very nice and professional on the phone (I did not get his name). Well, I got a call around 2 saying that their previous appointment was running long because the customer requested some additional services, but that they should definitely arrive by 3. I got a call at 3 saying they were leaving shortly and should be over in about half an hour. They arrived around 4:20, so I was a little frustrated with the waiting around. David was the representative who came up to asses our needs and give a quote. His manner is quite brusque and he was trying to upsell me. He suggested taking care of our carpets and other furniture as well, but I let him know that we were only interested in having 4 pieces cleaned. He asked me why we wouldn't want everything cleaned, as if I were being unreasonable not to have him do more than I wanted. But I held firm on the 4 pieces. I was quite put off by David's salesman attitude of trying to wring as much business out of me as possible. The words he used weren't problematic, it was more his tone of voice. Saying the same thing with a bit of friendliness or humor would've had a better effect on me. David's initial quote for 2 sofas and 2 armchairs was higher than I liked, and throwing in $50/piece to add scotch guarding was more that I was willing to pay. So I told him to forget the armchairs and the scotch guarding and to just clean the two sofas. He then brought his price way down for all 4 pieces and wouldn't charge for the scotch guarding. So I ended up paying $595 for the 4 pieces - which still seems high to me, but after waiting around all afternoon, I just wanted to get things over with. David assured me that my furniture would look like new and that I would be thrilled with the result. I agreed to his price, and the technician, Cipriano came up. Cipriano was very friendly and explained everything he was doing. He folded up my rug so it wouldn't get wet and went to work. He showed me the filthy water at the end of his first batch. He then went to work on the orange couch, which was by far the dirtiest piece. My kids watch TV on that couch and it's located off the kitchen, so it gets a lot of hard use. All of the pieces are much cleaner after the service, but they don't look new. David told me that some of the greasier stains wouldn't come out, so I wasn't surprised about that. The nicest surprise is that the 3 year old gum ground into the orange couch came out! But not all of the dinginess was eliminated. I only took before and after photos of this piece, and I will attach them. I don't know that I will use Spotless again, simply because I didn't like the haggling and long wait. But I am happy to have cleaner furniture. read more

First time they were efficient, thorough, and promised me a discount in a year when my furniture will need to be re scotch guarded. Prices are steep for vacuuming and spraying what i hope is a quality scotchguard and high grade cleaning chemicals on rugs and sofas but I found them to be highly recommended so I am trusting that they are using the best to maintain their high prices and good reviews. Amazing service!! Spotless got in touch hours after my online request (on Easter Sunday!) and set up an appointment for the following day. I was pressed for time so I just did the consultation at that time and was offered a very reasonable price for a deep cleaning of my West Elm sofa. We set an appointment for the weekend - they were so flexible with my work schedule. They gave me a window and then called the morning of to narrow down the timeframe. The guys who came out were so polite and respectful asking if they could move my coffee table to make space. I called to make an appointment with Spotless NYC the woman said she would send a man for a estimate. Yossi confirmed the night before and also in the morning he would arrive at 10:30am. He was on time which is very important for me since I am busy and take advantage of my weekends. He walked me through the process, threw in some extra cleaning perks and sent his crew immediately up. Everyone who entered my apartment was very respectful and made me feel comfortable to clean my expensive valued furniture. The whole process took under 2 hours and they did a great job. I had a very difficult stain from a Halloween party which he did not over promise it would come out completely. I appreciate this because he did not set my expectations higher than they could manage. I ended up agreeing to clean the whole couch and put a stain guard on so I would not have to go through this again. In the end the spot is completely gone and now my 2 year old cream couch looks good as new! I usually don't write reviews, but this is worth the time. I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and had scheduled Spotless (based on all the good reviews) to come clean my couch and rug before our baby arrived. The morning of our appointment I waited...and waited...and waited. Finally I checked in, and whoever I spoke with was flying internationally and going to call the team that was scheduled. When I did finally get a call back, the man said it was going to be another 2+ hours (they were at another job). I understand that some jobs can take longer than anticipated, but the lack of communication and respect for my time was shocking. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait until later because I had scheduled an ultrasound appointment that day (in consideration of my cleaning appointment that was supposed to be earlier). The man I spoke with assured me that if our doorman let them in, they would do the job while I was gone. That's when the price issue arose. I had been quoted $199 over email with "Michael" the manager (who I sent photos to). The man I was speaking with over the phone (the one flying internationally) requested I send photos again. That's when my quote somehow jumped to almost $600......you guys, this is not good business, especially after completely missing my original appointment. He did try to backtrack when I became frustrated, but at this point my trust was gone. I felt like I was getting ripped off, for sure, and that's when I just decided to cancel the whole thing. Which on top of it all, was really stressful because I was counting on these items to be cleaned before we brought our little one home. Needless to say, I contacted another cleaning service here on Yelp who was AMAZING and gave me a real, honest quote. They were right on time, communicative, and did an awesome job. This morning, my dog unfortunately threw up all over our couch and my own stain remover and fabric cleaner was not enough for the job. I called Spotless NYC and they came only a few hours later for the job. Abraham came upstairs and gave me a quote for either the one cushion or the entire couch. Both the sales guy on the phone as well as the two service men were all extremely nice/prompt/responsive/fast, and our cleaned couch and chair look like new. We wanted to get rid of a large water spot on the couch as well as an old stain on the chair that I had only spot-cleaned, but with not much success. The Spotless team seemed ok with the water spot but couldn't promise that the old stain would come out completely - it totally did, though. The only thing that wasn't awesome was the price. We had gotten a $200 quote on email, but then on the phone the sales guy wanted $299 for the bare minimum job. We ended up upgrading the services and paying $399, and I honestly don't think the total price was outrageous, but I was just thrown by the difference between the total and the original quote we received. read more

This team is awesome! I stumbled onto them 4 years ago when I need my commercial carpets steamed cleaned for an event being held in my office . It was a last minute request and they didn't hesitate to save me! Fast forward and my company has moved to a large office space with three (3) floors of commercial carpets in need an end of the year deep clean. Once again the service was top notched! Had an appointment between 12 & 2 and they called at 1:45 saying they need another hour. When I asked why call at the end of the appointment and not earlier, I was told "it is what it is" and "what do you want me to do about it!?" Clearly they have so much business that customer service is not all that necessary. I cancelled out appointment and do not recommend working with them at all. Loved these guys. We have 4 cats and last night we came home to find that one of them had vomited on the both the sofa and area rug in our guest bedroom. This was not the first time so we decided it was time to call in the professionals. Our Bissel Spot Bot could only do so much with 4 cats and the inevitable pet problems. I submitted a request on their website and within 30 minutes Yossi called, and this morning he came over to go over what needed to be done and we settled on a price. We ended up having both the living room sectional and the guest room sofa done plus all the area rugs. I watched Cipriano work and was impressed with his efforts--he took his time, was thorough, and cleaned every inch of the sofas and area rugs, plus all the throw pillows. Yosi quickly returned my call, came over immediately to see the chairs that we wanted to clean and then tried to negotiate a bigger job than we wanted, while answering phone calls from other clients. Once we got his attention to negotiate the price we set a date for the cleaning job. When Yosi called to confirm he tried to renegotiate the scope of the job! Two men came worked efficiently but spilled dirty water and stained our rug (which they were not cleaning.) We didn't complain because we didn't want to deal with them. We are left with 8 clean dining chairs, a clean upholstered chair and a dirty rug! Mixed bag. After posting this review Yosi called and insisted on cleaning the rug free of charge. He came with his staff to pick it up and delivery it a few days later. After a bit of an altercation with a neighbor, they brought it back clean. Yosi redeemed himself. Four stars! read more
