The negative we had was the project leader for the day of work seemed to have cut corners in several places. It started with not all of the work being done that was on the invoice. The office believed me and sent out a worker to check and they validated the work was not done that was in the invoice. When Mass Save came to inspect the work, they also found the light covers were not installed correctly. All and all, it required 4 visits to complete the work for a variety of reasons.

When the work was completed, our Building Inspector flagged the work for an insufficient amount of blown-in insulation. Months passed. When Rogers came back for the re-do, they didn't bring enough tubing to reach the attic opening, so they had to go back to Framingham to get more. This despite the fact that the company had already done work here previously, and should have known how much tubing was needed. In the end, the job was done correctly, per the Building Inspector, but the process required more of my time and attention than it should have, with appointments and phone calls. Also without the Building Inspection, we would not have know that insufficient insulation had been installed.

Mark took whatever time was necessary to air seal in our unconditioned attic, install baffles, and also ensure that the insulation which was poorly placed on the surface was cut down properly so it could be in contact with the attic floors. I don't know how much energy savings air sealing will do for me as my newer house was already pretty comfortable before embarking on this project, but I am confident that this project has been completed in the most competent manner possible. I did receive quotes which were a lot less than Mark's, but still chose to hire Mark for the job since he seemed like he was going to take the time to do it correctly. After seeing how big a job it was, I really don't feel confident someone would have been able to do the job right at those lower quotes. The project ended up being about 4.5 days of work where Mark had to crawl through insulation for many hours to get the job done.

They saved the day!…read more We had a new dishwasher installed by a local appliance company and when the installers left we were worse off than before they installed the new dishwasher. The appliance company left us with an actively leaking water line and a broken discharge line into our sink. I called Rodenhiser the next morning at 7:30 and was greeted by a great lady. Rodenhiser had someone at our house within 3 hrs. They explained the issues and cost, we agreed, and they fixed everything. All set by 1:00 in the afternoon. We have used these folks 2 other times - all very good experiences. Not the low cost provider but totally worth it!

We hired Rodenhiser about a decade ago to install a forced-air HVAC system; at the time, our home…read morehad radiant heat. The experience during installation was extremely negative. Midway through the job, we had a major dispute because the original plan stated that the system would not take up as much garage space as it ultimately did. When we raised the issue, they threatened to stop the job, walk away, and leave it unfinished. They left the site and did not return until we went to their office to speak directly with a manager. By that point, there was nothing they could do to fix the situation. They essentially told us it was up to us whether to continue with them or hire someone else to take over the work. Their attitude changed completely once we had paid the deposit and the job had started--they were rude, dismissive, and acted as if they no longer cared, assuming we were stuck. We chose to let them finish simply so we would never have to deal with them again. A couple of years later, while installing recessed lighting, we discovered that portions of the ductwork had never been properly sealed at the joints. Many joints were loosely connected and incorrectly taped, and one joint had come completely apart, allowing air to pour through. Properly sealed ductwork is critical for efficiency, yet it was clear the system had been installed with little attention to detail or performance. We did not contact Rodenhiser to complain, as it would have been a waste of time and energy. Any future issues would be handled by another company; their labor warranty is meaningless if it requires dealing with them again. About a decade later, in December 2025, we upgraded to a heat pump installed by a different company. The contrast was striking. The new company communicated clearly, worked carefully, and followed proper procedures. They posted the permit on site and coordinated town inspections for both the electrical work and the system installation. This made me realize that I did not recall seeing a permit or inspectors when Rodenhiser performed the original forced-air installation. I checked with the town and confirmed that Rodenhiser never pulled a permit for the conversion from radiant heat to a forced-air system--a permit that is mandatory for this type of work. This discovery raises serious concerns and further reinforces why this company should not be trusted to work in people's homes. Anyone considering hiring them should take a close look at their reviews and ratings. If someone reads those reviews and still chooses to hire them, they should be prepared for serious problems. I only wish we had done more research before hiring them ten years ago. Since then, I felt disgusted every time seeing their van on the road with their business name remind me of rodent short for rodenhiser. And every time I saw their van parked outside someone's house, I felt sorry for the person in that house.

He was extremely knowledgable and I was able to learn a lot from him. I took advantage of the 75% off attic insulation (other included services). I never felt pressured into the purchase. He sold me on his expertise and opinion alone. I can tell this is a person who has excellent communication skills, and can go into anyones home and make them feel comfortable. I wanted to leave out one star because i was unable to reach the Westborough office by phone, to make sure Robert was acknowledged for being a model employee. All people ever do is want to complain. So I felt like doing the opposite.

Because 75% or whatever was from the program I went forward with it, but in reality the program is bloated and overpriced. I would recommend doing as we did, which was reduce the scope of the work to just enough to get the $2,000 rebate. The $600 or so we paid out of pocket for that part was worth it. The one nice perk was the auditor provided a simple option for sealing up the basement that I can do myself and at a leisurely pace.

One section of the roof was sprayed with closed cell foam and the other section with open cell foam. All the foam was painted with fire retardant paint (grey color). Company indicated that any smell should disappear withing 2-3 days (with no action needed) Smell/odor did not go away as previously indicated by the company. As soon as I opened the front door, I could smell a chemical, rotten fish kind of smell that was not there before the spray foam job. Ventilators were brought to the attic and were run for a few days, but the smell situation did not improve With the situation not improving, I decided to collect core samples of the foam (both closed cell and open cell) from different locations and notified the company I was ready to send samples to a lab for testing. That's when they decided to completely remove the foam. They blamed the paint, however, the smell was coming from the foam and you could tell from some of the core samples that the foam never really properly cured The removal process was incredibly messy, making it impossible (likely not healthy) to live in the house during this time. We moved to a nearby hotel but the company only covered half of our total hotel stay (we were outside of the house for two weeks). One major issue with the removal was damage to underside of the roof decking and gable walls. Crawl bars, garden picks, etc. were used to remove the foam and in the process the roof decking and gable walls suffered serious damage. Even some of the nails holding the roof shingles became loose after being hit with some of these tools. Further, some of the HVAC ducts were also damaged The company didn't take responsibility for any of the damage to the roof decking, gable walls or HVAC ducts. I would advise you to stay away from this company. I would also suggest that you strongly consider other insulation materials
