We missed the street that takes you to the park twice, when we finally found the place it had ample parking available. There is a playground which was packed on the Sunday afternoon that we visited. The restrooms are located next to the playground and were relatively clean. The park offers plenty of shade and was well maintained. There was a small outdoor gym where I saw 1 person utilizing. I saw people playing catch in the open field and several people were walking their dogs. You can walk, run or bike ride on the trail. There is a very peaceful area that over looks the river where we took pictures. We were able to get in several miles and more than my required steps for the day. I look forward to coming back to Amerson River Park.

The park is maintained by the Rotary club but the trails are paved and easy to follow as well. There are also some benches scattered throughout the park, so you can relax and enjoy the scenery. I love that this park is so well-connected to nature, so many different species of trees and you can see the creek everywhere. If you're looking for a peaceful place to relax and get in touch with nature, I highly recommend checking it out. It's a hidden gem that you won't want to miss! The park is also very dog-friendly!!

A few years back there was flooding from a massive storm, there is a steel plate about 6 feet up on the inside of the bridge just to the right when you inter the bridge, it shows the height of the water table that engulfed the bridge. This is a park at the site of an old cotton mill that very close to town yet inexplicably hidden,…read moreif you don't keep your eyes open for the street to turn on you'll blow right past it. There is a house on the left before you get there "like within 400 feet" the has A millstone, gas pump, and other things on the property. Keep going as that is A personal residence do not get out to take pictures. When you arrive you will see a Beautiful damn with lots of running water going over the top. As you walk around the property there will be many photo ops so keep your eyes open, the beautiful man made pound is just one of them "not including the mill itself. There's also many places to sit down and have a picnic and plenty of car parking available.

You cannot miss it. However, you may miss the road or entrance to view. It's going downwards to get to one side, but the other side is another road that you will easily miss! I had to ask someone. Free. Small parking space. I actually see two barns. I didn't go inside. I saw several photographers there doing their job and didn't want to interrupt them.
