Really good Chinese teas in the Vancouver area, especially for white tea and Pu Erh tea.

There was a decent selection and we ordered the following: Steamed sponge cake 蒸鬆糕 Wife cake 老婆餅 Coconut tart 椰撻 Brown sugar walnut bread 紅糖核桃包 Prices are standard but the baked goods were average. The walnut bread was very dry. There was a small surprise though. I noticed several items are Taishan pastries packed in plastic boxes. Those are difficult to come across especially with modernization. We did not have the capacity to try those and it would be difficult to bring back to the US. If we ever revisit, I would love to give those a try.

The best changfen I've ever had. I've had changfen in the bay and in china but I think the reason…read moreis so good here is because they make it to order and get it to you steaming hot (never got to experience this elsewhere, very unfortunate I know, even dimsum is just warm). Also compared it with a few other changfen/rice roll places in Richmond and we still loved this one the most, especially at this price point ($7.50 cad with egg added) The changfen isn't in very distinct strips because it hasn't had time to cool down and take shape, but I didn't mind. There's also a little table to sit at and the chili oil is SO GOOD OH MY GOD AND you MUST add an egg It's also super sweet how they're always really excited when we mention that we always stop by when we come up from Seattle :,) HARMONY BAKERY MY GOAT

The decor for a hotpot place is very nice. Walked in and was greeted by a nice hostess who helped get my family seated. She then asked if it was our first time which we said yes. She proceeded to explain the different soups and foods along with the ordering process which she did an amazing job. There were many soup base to choose from along with your choice of unlimited protein. You could order as many as you want if you can finish it other wise there would be a fine for wasting food. We ordered just enough as we ate since we weren't trying to stuff ourself but eating a super late dinner. They had a good variety of food that all looked fresh and in an appealing layout. Meat came soon after every reorder and they topped off our soup often. Only thing I would improve is the fruit and dessert bar. Real estate is smaller so not much room for a bigger selection than the other AYCE hot place I've been too. Overall I would come back next time and definitely worth a visit for hot pot lovers.

We paid our bills and was finishing up our ice cream when the server came up and asked multiple times if we have paid. We informed him that we did and he hovered over our table insinuating that we were trying to skip our on our bills. It was very bizarre as he was the one who took our payment and we assumed he can see that the meals have been paid on his tablet. It was a very unconfortable experience and ruined our evening.

Every time I visit from Seattle, stopping by here is a non-negotiable. I've been a loyal customer…read morefor 7+ years. Their business is situated in a busy mall and it's more of a take out place vs a sit down restaurant. They also operate as a butcher shop. The workers here are really friendly and I never have issues ordering for someone who doesn't speak Cantonese/Mandarin. I rotate between ordering their roasted pork, soy chicken, and steamed chicken. All are amazing, especially the steamed chicken!! I ordered this by mistake once and didn't realize something so simple could be so delicious. The ginger scallion sauce they provide with it is so good. Everything always tastes fresh. Prices are great too, especially with the US to CAN conversion. Highly recommended!

Parker Place is old school but clearly beloved by visitors young and old. Visiting Richmond while…read morein Vancouver was a must, HK style BBQ was a necessity, and Parker Place had all the hallmarks of a hit, so we set a course and were not disappointed. Strolling up, there was a line. Good sign. The meats in the window were glistening and dripping delicious juices. Through the corner of the glass you could see the meat carver chopping each order and placing it in containers with their signature sauce. We waited a short time and were greeted at the counter. Almost every customer before us was Chinese and I'd watched the staff speak with them in both Mandarin and Cantonese, but both employees spoke to us in English (sincerely appreciated). We ordered a small amount of fatty and lean char siu and some roast duck, which he promptly selected from the window and chopped to order. The fatty was a bit much for me, but the lean char siu was absolutely delicious, and the duck had a nice crispy skin and juicy meat, all of which was delicious too. The sauce took up to the next level. IDK what it is about the soy served with bbq but it's either infused with the seasonings of the meat or the two combine in your mouth to make magic. Parker Place is a solid stop for this type of cuisine and a good starting point for exploring it in Richmond. I look forward to comparing them all over future visits.
