As with any Spring Creek, I don't have much to say. I'm not a humongous fan, but I do enjoy barbecue. This particular location is the main spot I've gone to growing up with my grandparents. And once with coworkers. I would say it is about average. The food is always good and warm here, but they don't put enough barbecue for me, which is countered by the sauce they have at the counter. Already not a fan of buffets, this is close to buffet style, though not really such. The people giving out the food in the line are usually energetic. Now, one you get to the table you're generally left alone, save for the person that comes out with that delicious hot bread. The hot bread is literally my favorite thing about Spring Creek. I can fill myself up on the bread alone. The thing about SC is I'm just never in the mood for it, and i tend not to go for places with food sitting on a line under heat lamps and hot trays, even if they change it out regularly or not. read more

Ribs both versions are dry and harder to eat than any other place I've been to in the DFW. Bones are stuck as opposed to slipping out like Texas Roadhouse. Bread rolls are always not good... hard every time. Also if fresh from bread servers the roll will be hard in less than 5 minutes. Not sure why the place is so busy! People must not know BBQ! I order sandwich because is smaller portions and I don't eat much of the bread to count my carbs because I am diabetic. I come into this particular location 2-3 times a month, tonight I was dumbfounded by the absolutely horrible service I received. Arrived at 8:05 and the behind the counter servers were already doing closing cleanup, an HOUR before closing. They had most of the side dish trays out and were cleaning the interiors of the steam pots, one server was using cleaning rags and wiping pots and trays and counters and stopped when the meat cutter gave him service instructions, he did not change his latex service gloves, he served using the same gloves he had been cleaning in, utterly disgusting and most likely a faux pas in restaurant serving etiquette. So, we finally were able to receive food after they decided it was best to STOP cleaning and serve customers, got up to the drinks and had to ask the server that had already gone back to wiping and cleaning that we needed glasses, so again, without changing gloves he grabbed (2) glasses and served them up with ice and landed them on the beverage pickup, then I get up to the register, the girl was across the aisle with another customer I presume doing a to-go order, she walked up and said hello and I told her what we had ordered, she said I have to take this order first, so I stood down and let her finish, then she looked at me and asked what did you have, I said to myself really, in 30 seconds you have forgotten what we have and the tray is laying right in front of you! I paid, and we went to the table, when they brought me the salad we had ordered, it was wrong, I had specifically asked for NO tomatoes, we retuned it and the server had the audacity to ask "so are you allergic to tomatoes," and we said NO we just don't like them and said no tomatoes and we heard the meat cutter tell you NO tomatoes. Finally, I received my salad, how hard can some lettuce, a few beans and some turkey be to make? As I watched this fiasco unfold, I could see they were all more interested in cleaning up and closing than they were in serving any customers, and they had many more customers come in after us. It was like 21st Century chaos at its best, and I would just be guessing but I would say the average age of everyone working was about 16 years old, even the person that seemed to be the manager looked lost and in complete abandonment. I wonder if all these restaurants that are closing and going bankrupt, do their hierarchy ever bother to leave their golden towers and go to their places of business and see just what is actually being served up or do they even care, I'd be willing to bet they don't care as they will receive their golden parachute whatever happens and go on to live in the fantasy world that they have created at the expense of so many others. But I digress, however this will probably be my last visit to this particular restaurant location maybe ever! The service industry needs to wake up or we all may be eating from home, Spring Creek, I do not believe you are immune to failure, lost customers, lost revenue and ultimate bankruptcy, but keep doing what you did tonight, and your future is bleak as far as my dollars are concerned. I guess my expectations are too high, or maybe it's just the fact that I have any expectations at all in this 21st century we live in. read more

Very high prices, especially when considering just how little they give you. Ordered brisket and ribs for take out. Was astonished how little we actually received (again, based on what it cost). The meats were overcooked and tasteless. They really push the bread on you, probably to keep you from complaining about the actual portions of BBQ they give you. Include this place as yet another restaurant that tries to guilt you into tipping their staff while picking up TAKE OUT. I have no issues leaving a few bucks on the table if I eat there (even though I generally clean the table myself). But tipping on take out is over the top. If the restaurant feels that the staff is underpaid then it's on them to close that gap. If you ever buy "meats by the pound" from this place try playing a little game when you get the food home: measure just how much they gave you! I think you'll be a little surprised! I went here about 1:00 PM today. I got the family meal with 3 pounds of meat, some sides and rolls. When I got home we discovered the rolls were missing. I called to make sure we were supposed to get rolls, and the girl who answered said that they were there and I must have left them. I told her I did not leave anything. I took everything the guy brought to the table they have for people waiting for to go orders. They said they would put in some extras and I could come pick them up, but that was not possible because my wife needed the car and was going to work. The food was good, but my son and I had planned on making little sandwiches with the meat and rolls. They should have sent someone to our house with the rolls seeing as how it was there fault we did not get them. The meal was just over $76.00, I gave them $80.00 and told them to keep the change. $80.00 should be enough for them to ensure that all the food we paid for was in our bags. It may seem like a little thing to some, but we were very disappointed with the lack of attention to ensuring our whole order was given to us, and with the lack of them fixing the situation. It is not that hard to simply look at an order and check things off as they are put into the bag. Please learn how to do your job correctly. It is not asking to much. read more

I have to say to the world I like Spring Creek BBQ they have been a staple in DFW for a while. And I have been a fan ever since I tried them way back when. This location in Bedford is just like all the other Spring Creek's restaurants friendly service, and good food. If you have not been to a Spring Creek it is set up like a cafeteria you get in line walk up to where the meat choices are and you order. I like the ribs very tender and great tasting. The brisket is very good and a must get. They do have other items but I just stick with the ribs and brisket. After you get your meat you now help yourself to the sides and you can put as much and whatever you want on your plate. They have great potato salad, ranch style beans, coleslaw which is very tasty. Corn on the cob, mac and cheese, and some other items. You will fill up on the sides so take it easy. Now one of the best things at Spring Creek is the hot fresh yeast roll right out of the oven. They bring them by your table about 3 times while you are there on average. And they are the best. Put butter on them and enjoy. I have to hold back on eating too many rolls. read more

My experience with the Bedford spring creek was a joke. The lady that gave me my order was very rude even before I told her that my order was wrong. I ordered a family meal with 2 meats and we literally got 3 pieces of turkey and 6 pieces of ham. What a joke. I paid almost 90.00 for our Christmas meal and now I can't even feed us, a family of 4. They even made me pay more for the tea because they got the order wrong. Said that the silverware and napkins and all the condiments were in the bag and it wasn't even 1 in the bag. I will never recommend this place. The lady at the register should be fired as rude as she was. I'm not done with this place. I will be going to Corporate. The first thing I heard about Spring Creek from people who go there: they have great rolls. Great rolls? From a place that should be specializing in smoked meat, homemade sides, and cobbler, that's not a ringing endorsement. I can get rolls at a bakery. Bread should not make the meal, unless that meal is a fancy sandwich and the bread is exotic or at least something other than a white yeast roll. Honestly, I can barely remember the food at this place and it hasn't been all that long since I gave it a try, so what does that say about it? Again, not much. I suppose it at least means it's not horrible. What I do remember is the ambiance. I don't know if this is typical or they were just feeling frisky, but the guys behind the serving line were singing. Or chanting. Or something in between. One manager type alpha male former high school jock dude would take your order, than shout it to the others with some clever twist. Maybe that passes for entertainment at a fudge shop in a tourist area, but for chain barbecue? And then there were the tables. They looked like rejects from the Cracker Barrel. Not the inside part where you sit--the porch outside. Lots of wicker involves. Just not good. Their system was down when I am about to pay, then this guy said "I will just charge you later because the system is down". While waiting to get an assistance, I was waiting for the guy who told me pay later so that I will pay to him directly so that they will not accuse me of not paying our meal. I did not see him, because of this I decided to just grab the to-go box to give to my wife then I will ask for the guy. While walking towards our table there was a guy SHOUTING at me saying "SIR SIR SIR SIR YOU CAN PAY HERE!!!". I was so surprised, my wife asked me what is it all about? I felt so embarrassed because the guy can be heard in the entire restaurant seems like trying to catch someone who is about to run outside without paying their meal. I KNOW MY OBLIGATION and my wife with our kids are STILL SITTING DOWN IN THE TABLE and I am about to ask for him to pay to him directly. I asked for the manager to make a complain and the waiter said "What is it all about?". I answered, "I need to talk to the manager". I not a huge BBQ fan, I prefer Memphis BBQ over Texas. But Spring Creek BBQ is pretty good. Some of my favorite things about things place are the fresh baked rolls and they offer Jello for dessert. Because there is always room for Jello. You also can by Coke in a bottle. I love their ribs, green beans and Mac and cheese. Those are the only things I have ordered here. My husband says the brisket is very tasty with that nice smoke ring . I also find their BBQ sauce tasty . Ribs - they have a nice smoky flavor and a beautiful pink ring. The top layer has the nice crisp texture while the meat below is a juicy fall off the bone texture. Green beans- are not over cooked or mushy. Nice bacon flavor . My sister in law made reservations 3 weeks ago to celebrate my nephews graduation. She called again to confirm this morning. When we all arrived for our reserved time they let another party take our spot. After speaking to the manager they told my sister in law that they could squeeze us in, but we wouldn't be able to sit together. Some of our party went ahead and left because they refused to give this place any money. My poor nephew had to watch, on what's supposed to be a day celebrating him, as most of his guests left and his mother was in tears. After 30 minutes of waiting they finally did clear out the room. We tried to eat the food we got which was mostly cold fries and sausage. Not very good. The pie was sour tasting and we threw it away. I've been to this location a few times and the food is pretty good every time I come here. I am not a big fan of cafeteria style where you walk through an assembly line. The reason for my rating is due to no side stations set up with extra sauce or a way to refill your drinks. If you would like a refill you either need to go to the back of the line or cut people off in line trying to pay and get drinks for themself. No amount of BBQ sauce would save it. The green beans and corn were drained of all flavor and texture - most likely from sitting in the trays of water all day. Mac & cheese was ok. Even the rolls, which I used to relish back in my college days, were a big disappointment. Another issue was seating. It was crowded and the tables that were empty weren't bused. I chose the table with the fewest dishes and had to flag someone down to get it cleared. Shame on me. I knew I didn't like Spring Creek. Skimpy servings. I had the chicken and brisket combo plate. Might have been three ounces of brisket. Three slices about three inches and 1/2" tall. Maybe 1/8" thick. Overcooked green beans. Great if you have no teeth. Mac and cheese could have a bit more effort than looking like Kraft dinner. My biggest gripe against this place is for as MUCH as you pay for mediocre food it is cafeteria style. I could almost justify 16 dollars for a combo plate and a tea if they had a waitstaff they were paying. And the girl with the rolls is about annoying. Our table had been bused and she asked if we wanted rolls. And I would them on what? The table? They don't have a waitstaff so I don't see how they justify the prices.
