For the last two years, I order 2-3 salads from here every Friday. Today was my last order. We usually order through doordash but their page will not let us order the salad with chicken anymore, just turkey. I spoke with a Manager last week about it and he said it sounds like a doordash problem and suggested I contact them. My husband and I are budget conscious and we cook and eat at home more than dine out. We use coupons, senior deals, Groupons and assorted discount dining offers. Springcreek Barbecue has had monthly mailings for years now offering buy one meal get one free of equal or lesser value. We used to eat there on a semi-regular basis; but stopped going when their food quality suffered a change. Still, we thought we would give them another shot. They were as busy as always for a weekday evening; but the line moved quickly and we ordered the fatty beef brisket with pepper sausage combo plate ($14.25). I got all of the sides except mac and cheese. The rub and char on the brisket was spicy and the meat tender. The pepper sausage was moist and had a decent bite. Their coleslaw had improved drastically and was crisp, well seasoned, not loose or watery and nice and cold. The potato salad was also a surprise. It was not mushy or overly mustardy and really very good. The Italian pole beans instead of long beans were also a treat with pieces of real bacon among still firm green beans. The BBQ beans didn't sit well with me, however. Overly sweet, I could taste nothing else but the sugar with the beans. No deep rich flavors of long cooking. No smoke. No bacon or pepper. The rolls are still wonderful and the in house Jalapeños hot. The pickles looked fresh and the entire line was clean and orderly. The staff was polite and helpful.The tables are still sticky, especially the edges. We had plenty of paper towels, though. It cost us about $7.75 per person with the coupon and there's no one to tip. It's certainly worth that and some more. I think it's a hard sell for $14.25 a plate, though. I realize the sides are all you can eat; but the price should really be about the 'cue. I went to this location for lunch today, because I really enjoy their barbeque and their rolls. The food was good as usual. I still had 80% of my potato salad left, one chicken thigh, one leg and one of those wonderful rolls. Along with a half a glass of tea and my prescription eyeglasses, because I take them off to eat, they were sitting on the table. I went to the to go counter and requested a box for my left-over food and to place an order to go for a coworker. When I got back to my table, to my complete alarm my food and my eyeglasses were gone! I could not have been gone from the table 5 minutes. The bus boy had taken all my food and my prescription eyeglasses. When I went back to the to go counter and explained what had happened the young man behind the counter said, "People leave all kinds of things behind, someone left their child once." He did not offer to replace my food I had to ask for it. Neither one of these things should have occurred! It takes longer to go to the restroom than it did for me to get a to go box and place an order for a loaded baked potato, so my table should not have been cleared. Once the young man behind the counter heard what had happened, he should have offered to make things right and not come off with a smart aleck comment about what people leave behind. With the coast of everything going up like it is making a snide remark was not the responds anyone should have received about their food and personal belonging being taking away like garbage. read more

Very flavorful and the sides (mac n cheese and some kind of pea pod looking veggies) were absolutely delicious. Great little mini bread loaves that they bring tableside piping hot. This has been our best experience at Spring Creek in years. The food was its usual solid self. Not spectacular, but consistently good brisket, sausage, and rolls. The reason for this rare review from me was the exponential leap in the quality of the customer service. For a Sunday morning at 11:45, the lite gospel music was a pleasant surprise. The dining area was clean and well-kept. The roll attendant came by four times! Associates came by half-a-dozen times to ask if we were doing well, how was our meal, did we need anything? They brought us refills and to-go cups. Everyone was friendly and personable. A welcoming atmosphere that made a simple trip to a restaurant we have been to dozens of times over many years into an experience that translated into a good day all the way around. Thank you, keep up the good work, and tell everyone that worked today that they should be proud of the way they do their jobs and make the world a friendlier place. It does matter. read more

We came by at lunch, so the serving sizes were not huge, but believe me you will be stuffed. My lunch date had the chicken, and I had the chicken(dark meat) and baby backed ribs. Choice of sides were potato salad, beans, or corn on the cob. Tried all the sides, and well what can you say they were sides, nothing speical. The Barbeque was excellent, the smokiness was there but not overbearing, everything was incredibly moist. Kudos to the nice lady who kept coming by with fresh baked bread, hot, crunchy on the outside, and moist on the inside. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I cannot say that I am a great Barbeque judge, but in my world food that is hot, juicy and flavorful is worth a try. read more

My Son's chicken was dry and my chopped Brisket was not chopped but stringy. I also ordered peppered sausage which was dry. I usually order the beef ribs and they were always available, but this time I was told they only have them on certain days..bummer!!! Just got off a 3 hour flight and stopped in for a late lunch and what a welcome surprise. The beef and sausage combo is so delicious the staff and so friendly and hospitable. While your eating the staff walks around offering fresh baked oven rolls. They were so moist and tasty. To be honest this place was better than the Fort Worth stockyards BBQ. Love this place. Eating out is something my husband and I enjoy. I normally cook 4-5 times a week so it's always a treat when someone else does it. Spring Creek has always been a quick go to, nearby and relatively decent food and service pre-Covid. We were there yesterday and I have to say this was absolutely the worse service and food I've received in months. It was 7:58pm when we arrived. There was no line but we stood in line waiting for the cutter to address us. He has to go find plates. What? No hello, what can I get just terrible service. Then we move on to the vegetables and sauce. One guy finally asked what can I get you. I requested beans and green beans with sauce. Finally we get through the line. Time to eat. Everything was cold. Not room temperature, cold. No problem. A hot roll will fix this. Wait and wait for the lady to bring the rolls. Nothing. Walk to the register and ask for a couple of rolls. I was told to wait she'll be coming by shortly. Walk to the baking area and ask the you lady and she looked at her watch, 8:20. I was told we don't walk around at this time. Okay, she gives me 3 rolls, I felt them and said these are cold. Totally frustrated at this point. I just wrap up my cold meat and go home. Not returning to this location anytime soon read more

The sides are not that great anyway.Management definitely does not care if they keep a long time customer. They are pricey for what it is. No social distancing tables, no plexiglass or protection between seating. You must make a line and no social distancing signs there either. We visited the Spring-creek BBQ location on Preston Rd at LBJ Fwy ( I - 635 ) in Dallas Texas on Thursday , October 17, 2019 at 5:30 in the afternoon. There were 4 customers sitting in The dining room when we arrived , There were 12 tables in desperate need of clearing . There were 4 persons behind your service counter . We sat down and started eating our meal . About 15 minutes later a line of people cane into your restaurant. None of the tables had been cleared. At 10 minutes of 6:00 the evening crew began to arrive. A bus boy began to clear tables ( 5 booths along the wall common to the narrow dining area . He left without wiping mush less washing the tables dish after clearing . I went to the men's room and found him I. There "cleaning " the back stall. He went out and began clearing other tables ; never wiping even one of them down . I am very disappointed in Spring Creek as for the condition of your restaurant. I had a decent experience with the BBQ itself. But, I had a terrible experience with the side I ordered. My wife and I drove there for dinner and I ordered a "combination plate" of turkey and lean brisket with a side of okra. A decent time later, after I had finished dinner, a young man brought a basket of okra. I told him I had finished dinner and it was of no use and to please take it back. About five minutes before that, my wife went back to get more sauce. This was about 15 minutes after going through the line. She asked about the okra. They said it would be right out. I heard the order put in when we were in line. It's a special order and replaces all other sides or costs about $4 extra. I chose to replace other sides. So, I was charged full dinner price but got no sides. When leaving, I asked for a manager. I simply asked what should my expectation be for okra to cook. Everyone agreed 3-5 minutes. Their first offer was a basket of okra to take home. I told them no thanks. The next was a free dessert; again no thanks as we really don't eat many desserts. I think his next proper move would have been to refund the posted cost of an okra basket. They didn't. To me, hopefully management will confirm to employees how they failed to give customer service by losing the initial service. I, and my wife, will not return again. I just ate dinner here. Food was good, but the staff couldn't care less for their customers. Just one of many examples - I sat at a table immediately in front of the bread and dessert stand. When the fresh bread was ready, an employee went around the room offering fresh bread to each table, except for the few tables directly in front of the stand. When a table of three ladies frustratingly waved the employee down to get bread, the employee reluctantly stopped at their table (next to my table) and served bread. Making eye contact with the employee I asked for bread too. The employee turned her back and served the other side of the room. When she returned to the stand, I again asked for bread. She said "I didn't see you." She looked directly at me with my hand up while she served the three ladies. Never an apology, never a "let me get you some bread", nothing other than "I didn't see you." That is total BS! I will not return to Spring Creek again. This is the last poor experience I will pay for there. There are too many other options with better service! read more

So we are a Celiac family, so places being knowledgable about how they prepare and serve their food really matters to us. I called in to check on the gluten awareness and they (who I can only assume was a manager or GM) were incredible knowledgable and assured me that we'd be well taken care of. We arrive, the gent at the meat counter greets us and walks us through their menu, and after my wife orders a brisket plate and notices he went ahead and put bread on it, we apologetically informed him that we should of mentioned right off the bat her sans-gluten needs. He immediately put it aside, told us he'd grab a whole new cut of meat AND a new knife and cutting board. It was pretty incredible his attention and care, as well as attitude and hospitality towards us. At this point, I think the fellow I spoke with on the phone saw the interaction, and quickly came over with the Gluten Free menu to show us the sides that she could have. He had it ready for us after we'd spoken on the phone. My review would of been 5-star even if the food was blah, but it wasn't. It was awesome. It is now cheap BBQ with mediocre sides and that really comes through in the quality of the food. Everyone we interacted with was very kind and helpful. What a great place for casual family BBQ! Their menu is fairly simple, but what they have is absolutely delicious. Being a BBQ joint, obviously you will need to sample the different roast meats. Stopped in for dinner on a Thursday night in about the late 8 o'clock hour. It was busy. What I probably like most about Spring Creek is their fresh, hot rolls. Most BBQ chains, imo, are about the same. The food was good, we certainly had our fill from the combo plates. I especially like their turkey and ham. We also had chopped beef, pulled pork and sliced sausage (in order of most liked). The sides were the usual suspects. I generally like to finish off with some peach cobbler and Blue Bell vanilla ice cream but boy was I stuffed. A big plus was all the young people working hard there. They exuded work ethic, professionalism and a courteous attitude. They thanked us for coming on the way out and also opened the door upon our exit. Pretty cool. My only qualm was that the line on the outside was dirty. I asked for the manager and someone cane around immediately to clean it up. I know it was busy but my standard of service is the same regardless of peak hour or location. I appreciated their reaction and willingness to get it done.
